I would still like to see some justice for this useless murder. In a court room it would be hard to defend this murderer, Byrd's, actions. It's all there to see that Babbitt proposed no threat to the shooter. Some politician who planned 1-6 wanted a body count to blame on President Trump, Byrd obliged. FMB

Gee, #18, I was hoping that he eventually gets what Joey Gallo got. A college roommate worked summers in a printing company that had their parking lot adjacent to Umberto's Clam House in lower Manhattan, where Gallo was 'whacked'. We decided against lunch there years ago during a visit not long after the killing. It would be so sad to read of a similar ending for this murderer.

I don't agree that the murder was in cold blood. Byrd was frightened and he panic'ed. He fired in panic. It was murder all right, but capitol police are not qualified for actual police work. They watch the metal detector and guide visitors. When faced with a real problem they have no idea what to do.

Last summer, several Minneapolis city council members joined Rep. Change was in the air.Four weeks ago, however, the incumbents heard from the thousands of Minneapolis voters who had not attended their anti-police rally. Where is Paul Volcker when you need him? In the early 1980s, the late Federal Reserve chairman stared down double-digit inflation and made it blink first. Back when huge shoulder pads were in and Twisted Sister was at the height of its popularity, Volcker helped President Ronald Reagan wring inflation out of the economy in what proved to be an extremely traumatic but also necessary process. Volcker’s work in constricting the money supply with interest rates almost unthinkably high — the federal funds rate peaked at 20% — helped pave the way to the economic expansion of the Reagan era.
