A new poll published on Sunday found that about 7 in 10 Americans know 'just some' or even less about what's in both the Biden administration's infrastructure and social spending bills. Despite 55 percent of respondents saying they were following negotiations about the bills at least somewhat closely, only 31 percent said they know a great deal or good amount about what's in the legislation. The survey showed that 32 percent of Americans thought the bills would hurt people like them compared to 25 percent who thought it would help them.

Comments:

Guess that whopper that Lunch Bucket tells about large majorities of Americans supporting Spendapalooza is just another giant lie.

Perhaps there is a failure among the many news delivery systems to keep us informed?

Apparently, also included in the spend-a-palooza bill is the provision selling ALL of the Strategic Petroleum Reserves and NOT replacing them!! I don't know if this is true or not. It is something I read on another site, but I wouldn't put anything past this particular breed of scum and vermin currently running the leftist party!!

Nobody knows what is in it, even the people writing it. All we know for sure is that it is going to cost nothing, so just shut up.

I don't even believe 31 people (forget percentage points) know a lot about what is in that spending fiasco.

It makes no sense to even try to understand the "spending bill" because Democrats will do what they want anyway. They pass bills that they ignore ... the pass laws that they violate. Democrats are total evil.

The legislation is well over 1000 pages. The media headlines a few points. NO ONE knows what all is involved, including those who write it. and those in Congress definitely do not know. It would take weeks for an elected official to review all the garbage in the bills.

And the demo-commies count on that. #1 - they haven't been 'news delivery systems' for many, many decades. They are commie propaganda outlets. But since they are seriously outnumbered they have to be somewhat careful or they'd be extinguished if the peasants actually caught on.

Try explaining a two thousand page document during a three minute segment on your average news program. I suspect 100% of those who will vote on this thing know what's in it.

West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin held a press conference moments ago to say he’s done with the insufferable chicanery within the legislative social spending bill, also called the “human infrastructure bill” or Biden’s “build back better” bill, or the “reconciliation bill”. Nancy Pelosi has been sitting on the previously passed $1.5 trillion infrastructure bill that was passed by the House and Senate {Go Deep} but has refused to allow a vote until a bigger social spending bill -constructed using the reconciliation process to radically change the U.S. by the AOC radical communists in congress- can be attached.

As gas prices soar across the country, President Joe Biden attempted to explain the benefits of electric cars. Predictably, his explanation was more confusing than it was helpful. Biden was giving a speech Thursday describing his two massive spending sprees, also known as the Build Back Better plan and infrastructure bill. According to a White House transcript, Biden was describing the need to replace buses and cars with electric alternatives like rail and electric cars.

After months of criticizing Sens. Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema for balking at the original $3.5 trillion price tag, congressional Democrats are finally accepting reality and paring President Biden’s social welfare package to between $1.5 trillion and $2 trillion over the decade. Does this mean they are responsibly removing the bill’s worst provisions and crafting fiscally sustainable legislation? Of course not!

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-NY., said that she will vote against her party's infrastructure bill if it comes to a vote Thursday because Democrats have not provided enough details on what will be in the larger social spending bill. "I don't see how ethically I can vote to increase U.S. climate emissions," Ocasio-Cortez said Wednesday, noting that a "framework" of President Biden's "Build Back Better" plan isn't enough detail to sway her vote on infrastructure. "We have had a framework for six months. We need text."

Homeland Security has expanded its list of locations off-limits for ICE enforcement to include anywhere near graveyards, community organization offices and any area where children “gather” — effectively blocking officers from making arrests across many urban areas. The new rules issued Wednesday are designed to give illegal immigrants and others associated with them access to essential services without having to fear arrest, said Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. “This principle is fundamental,” Mr. Mayorkas said in a memo to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

At a press conference Wednesday, Neal, chair of the House Ways and Means Committee, said the proposal was “out of the Biden plan” after Manchin, whose support is crucial for Democrats to pass legislation in the evenly split Senate, told reporters he didn't like the billionaire tax.

As Democrats face a self-imposed deadline to pass a sweeping reconciliation spending bill and a bipartisan infrastructure plan they appear in danger of doing neither – again. President Biden is leaving the United States Thursday for an international trip that will include, among other things, a climate summit. The president made clear he wanted have an agreement among Democrats about what the reconciliation deal will look like, and to sign the infrastructure bill, so that he can tout the climate provisions in both. NEW YORK — Health officials on Friday offered more evidence that vaccinations offer better protection against COVID-19 than immunity from a prior infection. Unvaccinated people who had been infected months earlier were 5 times more likely to get COVID-19 than fully vaccinated people who didn’t have a prior infection, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention concluded in a new study. “These data show, pretty strongly, that the vaccines are more protective against symptomatic COVID,” said Dr. Mike Saag, an infectious disease expert at the University of Alabama.
