Billionaire Tax Dead On Arrival After
Manchin Blasts Proposal Mere Hours After
Its Release

Original Article

Democrats have already nixed a contentious plan to tax the wealth of roughly 700 billionaires, Rep. Richard Neal (D-Mass.) confirmed Wednesday, after moderate Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.V.) voiced concerns earlier in the day over the proposed provision in President Joe Biden’s spending package. At a press conference Wednesday, Neal, chair of the House Ways and Means Committee, said the proposal was “out of the Biden plan” after Manchin, whose support is crucial for Democrats to pass legislation in the evenly split Senate, told reporters he didn't like the billionaire tax.

Comments:

Manchin takes a giant dump on another of Xiden's ridiculous ideas. The speed that this got pulled tells me they knew they did not have any support for it. Word got out too quick on what taxing unrealized capital gains really means.

It has already be ruled unconstitutional in 1913 anyway. 252 U.S. 189. Congress was not empowered by the Sixteenth Amendment to tax, as income of the stockholder, without apportionment, a stock dividend made lawfully and in good faith against profits accumulated by the corporation since March 1, 1913. P. 252 U. S. 201. Towne v. Eisner, 245 U. S. 418.

Apology for second post: From the citation: Mere growth or increment of value in a capital investment is not income; income is essentially a gain or profit, in itself, of exchangeable value, proceeding from capital, severed from it, and derived or received by the taxpayer for his separate use, benefit, and disposal. Manchin did not get the memo. The Billionaire tax was never meant to pass. It was supposed to be defeated by the Republicans so the Dems could all parrot the old Republicans don’t tax the rich meme.

Biden wants to hire what he said are 80,000 IRS agents to effectively hunt down the about 700 billionaires throughout the USA who he says have been cheating on their taxes. Even an elementary math class would question those supposed facts and figures.

Every "billionaire" tax ever passed has always ended up taxing the middle class and not the billionaires. Clinton and Gore increased the tax on social security earnings because "billionaires weren't paying enough". End result was my mother who could barely afford to live in her apartment had to pay that higher tax. And now 25 years later I'm having to pay it.

Did they really think they would limit wealth confiscation to the billionaires only? Ha, it will be everybody down to the lowest earnings brackets of the middle class, while exempting themselves as they have with the Covid shots.

America’s employers accelerated their hiring last month, adding a solid 531,000 jobs, the most since July and a sign that the recovery from the pandemic recession is overcoming a virus-induced slowdown. Friday’s report from the Labor Department also showed that the unemployment rate fell to 4.6% last month from 4.8% in September. That is a comparatively low level though still well above the pre-pandemic jobless rate of 3.5%. And the job gains in August and September weren’t as weak as initially reported: The government increased its estimate of hiring for those two months by a hefty combined 235,000 jobs.  CORRECTION*

Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm laughed off the notion of encouraging more domestic oil production to blunt high gasoline prices and said matters are exclusively in OPEC's hands. "That is hilarious," Granholm responded while laughing to Bloomberg Surveillance host Tom Keene's question about the "Granholm plan" to increase oil production in America. "Would that I had the magic wand on this," Granholm said. "As you know, of course, oil is a global market. It is controlled by a cartel. That cartel is called OPEC."

The Democrats’ $1.75 trillion social spending bill would massively increase fines imposed on employers for occupational hazards. President Biden’s vaccine mandate will be enforced through such penalties. Businesses with over 100 employees must ensure by Jan. 4 that their workers are either fully vaccinated or undergo weekly COVID-19 testing, according to the mandate, which was finalized Thursday. Fines, enforced through the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), could be as high as $14,000 per violation.

With the Biden administration facing a growing wave of lawsuits to stop the president’s vaccine mandate on companies, an Indiana businessman-turned-senator believes he has the quickest way to kill it. Sen. Mike Braun, backed by most GOP senators, including Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, is hopeful of nixing the mandate through the arcane but effective Congressional Review Act. It would force a vote in both Houses just before Christmas and when 93,000 firms could be firing unvaccinated workers.

Congress is requiring in its $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill that automakers install monitoring systems in their cars to stop drivers from operating their vehicles while intoxicated. The bipartisan package, which is on its way to the president's desk after passing the House on Friday, allocates around $17 billion for the road safety programs. Monitoring systems to stop drunk drivers would roll out in all new vehicles as early as 2026, according to the new legislation. Shakespeare is considered the bard of England—yet another country. Scotland’s bard is poet Robert Burns.

While partisan polarization remained high, the research also showed that there are divisions within both the Democrats and the Republicans - as members' views vary on issues including racial justice, abortion, taxes and the future role of former President Donald Trump.
