My daughter and son-in-la, vaxxed with two separate vaccines, both got COVID. Ditto a set of older friends, one of whom was in the hospital for five days, home on oxygen now. As the Roundtable of doctors stated, the booster is for the original COVID, now mostly finished, and it is not for the variants, so why get it? It's like getting a leftover flu shot from five years ago. Just more poison to the body.

One wonders if the heavy concentration on the testing has contributed to the hysteria surrounding Covid. There seems to be this race to test on a mass scale even in people who have few if any symptoms. This has created a sizeable group of asymptomatic or near-asymptomatic Covid-positives who are being "equated" with those who have more serious symptoms. I'm not saying that people shouldn't test for Covid. However, there's a powerful argument that testing should only be done if one's symptoms are at the more serious end of the spectrum and after consultation with a physician. This drive-through mass testing - often in people with a few sniffles or a normal head cold who are repeat visitors - may be making matters unnecessarily worrisome.

The testing has always been such a payoff racket, because the sampling is set so sensitive that even harmless miniscule particles of the virus can/will cause a "positive". Plus, we already know that the Vaccinated can carry huge loads of virus around without showing signs. So it is quite possible that Miss Circle-Back (as distinguished from Mme Mattress-Back) is actually the one who precipitated her "family emergency"... as well as putting the Vacancy-in-Chief at risk.

McDonald’s head honcho Chris Kempczinski is under fire over a text message he sent to Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot about shootings in the city that critics say was “racist” and “ignorant.” Protesters say the message — sent on April 19 but revealed Tuesday — appeared to blame parents who “failed” their children. “p.s. tragic shootings in last week, both at our restaurant yesterday and with Adam Toldeo [sic]. With both, the parents failed those kids which I know is something you can’t say. Most workers at Deere & Co. rejected a contract offer Tuesday that would have given them 10% raises and decided to remain on strike in the hopes of securing a better deal. The raises in the new agreement reached over the weekend were twice as big as the ones in the original offer United Auto Workers union members rejected last month, but those raises and improved benefits weren’t enough to end the strike that began on Oct. 14. The new agreement also would have provided an $8,500 ratification bonus, preserved a pension option for new employees, made workers eligible for health insurance sooner and maintained their no-premium health insurance coverage.

City firms have been wrapped up in an equality row after it was revealed diversity proposals will allow companies to include transgender women in their gender roll calls. Equality targets will require more than a thousand of Britain's biggest companies to close the gender pay gap. But the proposals define a woman the same way as LGBTQ campaign group Stonewall rather than the way gender is usually recognised under UK law. If they go ahead, companies can meet percentage targets by including transgender women as female in their self-reported data — despite them not necessarily facing the same discrimination relating to their sex.

Vice President Kamala Harris visited New York City Monday, touring John F. Kennedy International Airport as part of an effort to see how climate action can create jobs. “To meet our climate commitment, we must, we must, I say to my fellow Americans, put in the work,” she said. Harris was joined at JFK Airport by Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm, as they touted two new initiatives aimed at reducing greenhouse gases. “First, a new partnership between our government and private companies to drive innovation in electric heat pumps,” Harris said. Later she participated in a celebration marking the 30th anniversary of the Rev. Al Sharpton’s National Action Network.
