Then, CNN's Jake Tapper used it in one of his commentaries to denounce the entire Republican Party for making this tragedy an occasion for jokes. Now, one has to think that McAuliffe is feeling pretty desperate to have Biden out to stump for him. As we previously reported, McAuliffe acknowledged that Biden was not popular in Virginia and that basically they had to work their way around that fact. So he must be just grasping for anything he can having Biden in to speak at this point.
I can’t imagine Biden helping him at all. Biden doesn’t have any ability to really draw anyone. He surely doesn’t give an inspiring stump speech.
