The human remains found in a Florida reserve in the search for Brian Laundrie were bones, including part of a human skull, and may take days to be identified. (snip) law enforcement sources who said the remains included a partial human skull. It is unclear how long they have been in the area, but they may take days to identify. (Snip) the search in the area around the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park continues. Cadaver dogs are combing through the preserve and drones are scanning overhead for more traces of Laundrie, who vanished on September 13. (snip)The lawyer representing the couple has denied speculation that they may have planted the evidence.

Comments:

Good…they are continuing the search. This little drama may have been just too cute. The parents contacting FBI/LE; “meet us at the park tomorrow”. The parents heading straight for the place where his things were found. And then! Bones!!! How hard to prolong Brian’s running room by coming up with a homeless person and dumping them in the park? How difficult for the parents to plant the personal stuff? Clear that these things have crossed others’ minds.

I’m no forensic scientist but would there only be bones left after this short of time? It’s not even been 2 months since he went missing.

Re the parents' planting stuff. Plausible as it would either shut down the search or considerably delay it if it were to be paused while bones were identified. My bet is that there are no teeth in that partial skull, which seriously hampers ID. FTA: Lawyer Bertolino is running scared: On Wednesday night, Laundrie family lawyer Steven Bertolino told CNN's Chris Cuomo that it is 'hogwash'. He also revealed that he told the parents not to speak to the media or Gabby's family, which they have been admonished for, and said the pair are 'heartbroken'.  'In nice terms, it's hogwash,' he told Cuomo when asked about the suggestion that they may have planted the evidence.  'Chris and Roberta went to this area first and as happenstance was, they stumbled upon these items,' he said. On Thursday morning, he added to DailyMail.com: 'Speculation is just that.'  The search of the park continued on Thursday with cadaver dogs, dune buggies and police cars, but authorities are being tight-lipped on what exactly they have found so far, and what they continue to seach for. What's that old thing about "he protesteth too much"? Interesting aerial photo marked up to show locations. The site of yesterday's "finds" is very close to the entrance and the area where Brian supposedly parked Mom's car.

Hit submit too soon. One aerial photo/map shows that “remains find” only 4 miles from the Laundrie home. If he camped there, supporting him would have been pretty easy.

With a "partial skull" among the remains and weeks of forensic work ahead to make certain identification, the police have nevertheless informed the Laundries that the remains are their son's. I feel certain the police are correct. A less hospitable place could scarcely be imagined. Lee County Sheriff Carmen Marceno stated, "'Today I got to see the treacherous conditions they were working under. We're talking about water levels up to the chest area, rattle snakes, moccasins, alligators...These are very, very difficult conditions...you're searching in areas where you can't just walk up and look. It's not like you're searching a house or a car. These areas are huge and they are covered by water.' " A body would be difficult to find in such a place. A lot remains to be written about this tragedy, but I think we know the basic facts. There was nowhere for him to run.

#1 I was thinking the same thing. After such a short time I find it hard to believe there would only be skeletal remains left. However, since this is a swamp with alligators and other critters, it's not beyond the possibility that the body was consumed to a certain extent. It was said that the identity was proven by dental records.

It's too soon for there to be bones of him...unless he was eaten by a croc..and then there would probably not be anything as they usually drag the victims into their underwater caves...too convenient...as others have said, he's probably hiding out somewhere waiting for the heat to die down...

The "MEAL KIT" label on the FedEx package Laundrie's parents shipped is just too conspicuous to be credible. My money is on entirely different contents of some kind - probably something they wanted to get rid of. When you act as callously as this family has done, people are going to be suspicious of everything you do.

But their recollections of key moments during these critical days — according to their family attorney — have been inconsistent or conflicted with law enforcement authorities’ version of events.(snip) from September 13 to 17. The FBI said dental records confirmed the identification. Two local detectives visited the North Port, Florida, home of Laundrie's parents shortly before the FBI made its announcement.

Sometimes even New York Times columnists tell the truth. For instance, a recent article by Jennifer Finney Boylan was headlined “Abortion Rights and Trans Rights Are Two Sides of the Same Coin.” Yes, and the coin is currency from Hell. Although there are abortion supporters who oppose transgenderism and vice versa, Boylan is correct that the justifications for abortion and transgenderism share most of their ideological DNA. Both are rooted in hatred for the givenness of human embodiment and its limitations. Both should be rejected in favor of something better. Boylan, who identifies as transgender, objects to giving “the state the right to limit what you can or cannot do with your

Washington — A revamped bill aimed at strengthen voting rights and overhauling the nation's election systems failed to advance in the Senate on Wednesday, as Democrats couldn't overcome unanimous opposition from Republicans who criticized the bill as federal overreach. The procedural vote to begin debate on the Freedom to Vote Act was 49 in favor to 51 against, far short of the 60 votes needed to advance the measure. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer changed his vote to "no" as a procedural maneuver that allows him to bring the bill to the floor again. All 50 Republicans voted against advancing to debate.

Having said that, I cannot escape a feeling that karma had a hand in this one because the finger on the trigger of the gun that killed Hutchins belonged to Alec Baldwin, a hysterical leftist who is fanatically opposed to the Second Amendment. As Lowry sees it, it’s a fool’s game to overestimate Trump’s dominance of the Republican Party this far in advance of the 2024 election. Lowry writes, in an op-ed posted by The New York Post on Friday, that Republican politicians who think the Republican Party belongs to Trump can be forgiven, given that he not only survived two impeachments and the January 6 attack against the U.S. Capitol; he has since continued to thrive.
