Lefties love to talk about greed and "equity," but never seem to notice its phenomenal growth in the one-party rule of their blue cities. Here's the story from Los Angeles as the New York Post reports: A Los Angeles City Council member and the former dean of the University of Southern California’s School of Social Work were indicted Wednesday in connection with a scheme in which the pol allegedly promised to steer lucrative contracts to the school if it gave his son a scholarship and a professorship. Councilmember Mark Ridley-Thomas, 66, and Marilyn Louise Flynn, 83, were expected to be arraigned in the coming days

The former Dean of the School of Social Work...why not? With all the university-trained social workers out there "helping" the "less fortunate", why are things so awful, seemingly kept that way?

A funny line from one of rhe Restoration comedies has one character saying to another, “If there’s a priest, a woman and French gold, it’s a plot,” so bringing that into modern focus, I suggest it’s a plot if there’s a Black politician, a White academician and Government money.

Oh, this is so satisfying to me personally! In the 1990's I toiled for seven years as the City Council rep for the LA Dept. of Airports. That schmuck, Ridley-Thomas, was first elected back then and was corrupt before he got into the chamber. He is SEIU all the way from the beginning. He was so PC that when he married he also started to use the same hyphened last name as his wife. It was a big campaign point. That is how shallow this scum is. At least for one of these commies I don't have to wait for Judgement Day!

ALL the big Dem run cities are entirely, fundamentally, deeply corrupt. And useless "academic" departments like Sociology, and Gender Studies, and Racial Studies.....are useless, worthless, ....correction, of NEGATIVE value....and since they have nothing to actually DO, they just steal money, and hand out favors to political allies.

Voters, according to multiple polls, are repelled by the Democrats' $3.5 trillion "reconciliation" spending plan, the largest government spending bill in human history. Rasmussen found that 53% of likely voters are against it, including 41% who are dead-set against it. I&I/TIPP found that 51% of independent voters wanted nothing to do with it. Pew found that less than half of voters wanted the $3.5 trillion reconciliation bill, while the centrist Washington policy group No Labels found that 60% of voters agreed with Sen. Joe Manchin on the need for a "strategic pause" to consider the implications of this much porkulus. NBC News delicately reported that the bill represents "some risks"

We’ve written before about the madness in the Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS), most recently when it comes to parents protesting LGBTQ pornography in the school system’s libraries. There’ve also been newsworthy moments when parents spoke out about Critical Race Theory in the school district. One of the most explosive moments occurred when the school board, tired of having angry parents (i.e., voters) yell at them, called the cops, with several arrests, including that of one man getting physically dragged out. It now turns out that the man was protesting the fact that the school’s policies led to a boy in a skirt sexually assaulting his daughter

Is there any level of phoniness Kamala Harris can't demonstrate? Back when Joe Biden had disappeared during Afghanistan's collapse and was refusing to take phone calls from British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Harris had a golden opportunity to step in and show leadership. But she had better things to do. What was she doing as Joe Biden went AWOL? Cocooning into her comfort zone, which was engaging in selfies and public relations. Call it her 'My Pet Goat' moment, except that it wasn't by accident. While Afghanistan was collapsing into terror and Americans were trapped behind enemy lines in chaos, she was busy making at least three space videos

As Joe Biden's public approval tanks in the polls, his sidekick Kamala Harris is also looking pretty wretched. She underwent 'repackaging' from swamp consultants who specialize in "crisis messaging," to very miserable results as she posed for videos with kids, coming off phonier than ever. And more important, she may have been frozen out of all serious decision-making as an obviously giggling lightweight. There's this item, reported by Fox News: Several top members of the Biden administration were in Mexico City on Friday for a meeting with Mexican officials regarding security along the U.S.-Mexico border. But Vice President Kamala Harris wasn't among them.Harris, whom President Biden appointed in March

WASHINGTON – Amid reports of thousands of Haitian migrants again heading to the U.S.-Mexico border, the head of the Department of Homeland Security said Tuesday the Biden administration has learned from the unexpected wave of migrants who came last month and is prepared for the possibility of additional groups.  After the administration faced criticism for its treatment of more than 10,000 Haitian migrants who had gathered under a bridge at the United States' southern border, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas told the USA TODAY Editorial Board and newsroom journalists that his agency has developed plans to address additional groups of migrants.CORRECTION*

Among the string of jerks who resigned from President Trump's administration in the wake of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, leaving their colleagues to do all their work while they attempted to rejoin the swamp, Stephanie Grisham, an ex-White House press secretary and ex-press secretary to Melania Trump, was one of them. Now she's got a tell-all book out, looking to make some money off her eight-years-in-the-Trump administration experience, and more likely to sidle back into the good graces of news outlets such as MSNBC, possibly to win a commentator slot. Tell-all books are useful vehicles for that. But is she telling all? Turns out she's making things up. According to Business Insider:

At a time when illegals are surging the border in historic numbers, and public support for amnesty is collapsing, it would seem logical for illegal immigrant amnesty activists to just lay low. But nope, they've decided that now's about the time to step up the obnoxious, disruptive protests, along with harassment of U.S. elected officials. And things go as they've always gone, it will once again be to their grief. But it certainly explains why we're seeing what's going on here, as described by the New York Post: Sen. We already see soaring prices, empty store shelves, shortages of critical products, factories shut down, workers unemployed, and people freezing in their homes. Clearly, Trump has yet to get over the fact that he is not the one currently sitting in the White House following the 2020 election. It’s true that millions of Americans wish he were currently the president, enacting policies to make America great. But as they say, if wishes were horses, then

They were hanging out late last Tuesday when members had to scramble for cover. Four people were injured when a gunman leaned out of a passing SUV and sprayed the area with what sounded like an automatic weapon—a theory confirmed by witness testimonies and the ShotSpotter. The incident last Tuesday extended a string of shootings involving ordinary handguns and rifles that were modified into fully automatic weapons capable of firing up to 1,200 rounds per minute. The conversion process involves illegal devices commonly referred to as "Glock switches" or "auto-sears," which are readily available to buy on the internet or can be made on 3-D printers.
