The Coachella Music Festival is pulling the plug on their original plan to enforce mandatory vaccines for ticketholders when it returns in 2022. Katrina Robinson's legal team is seeking an acquittal after the state senator was found guilty of four counts of fraud. In a filing Friday, Robinson's attorneys argue prosecutors misrepresented evidence and changed their legal theories mid-trial. That two-week trial ended Sept. 30 with a jury finding Robinson guilty. If not an outright acquittal, Robinson's attorneys ask the judge to grant a new trial. Robinson was initially served with a 48-count indictment Aug.11, 2020, alleging she illegally used $600,000 in federal funding meant for her school, The Healthcare Institute. Prosecutors said she used the money for personal expenses including food, makeup, and entertainment for a wedding.

China plans to build more coal-fired power plants and has hinted that it will rethink its timetable to slash emissions, in a significant blow to the UK’s ambitions for securing a global agreement on phasing out coal at the Cop26 climate summit in Glasgow. In a statement after a meeting of Beijing’s National Energy Commission, the Chinese premier, Li Keqiang, stressed the importance of regular energy supply, after swathes of the country were plunged into darkness by rolling blackouts that hit factories and homes.
While China has published plans to reach peak carbon emissions by 2030, the statement hinted that the energy crisis had led the Communist party to rethink

The world appears to agree on one thing. Politicians are the least trusted profession on the planet, according to a massive Ipsos “Global Trustworthiness Index” poll of 19,570 adults conducted in 28 countries. On average, only 10% of the respondents felt that politicians were “trustworthy.” That negative finding ranged from a low of 3% in Argentina to a high of 19% in Malaysia. The U.S. was just about in the middle with 9% of respondents saying they trusted politicians—a finding shared with respondents in Poland, Italy, South Korea and Mexico. Politicians had some company at the rock bottom of the poll, which has been conducted since 2018. “Government ministers”

Chicago - The chief of the union that represents rank-and-file Chicago police officers warned that the force could be at half-strength over the weekend as a result of a City Hall mandate that officers must be either vaccinated against COVID-19 or tested regularly for the coronavirus. Saying the mayor's office has refused to bargain in good faith, John Catanzara, head of Chicago Lodge 7 of the Fraternal Order of Police, or FOP, said the union planned to file a class action lawsuit if city officials follow through on a promise to place police officers into "no-paid" status for refusing to participate in the city's vaccination portal.

President Joe Biden's approval rating is 10 points behind President Barack Obama's at this point in Obama's presidency, as Biden's numbers have been battered by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, among other issues. The Real Clear Politics polling average for Obama on October, 11 2009 stood at 53 per cent approval and 40 per cent disapproval, while Biden currently stands at 43 per cent approval and 52.3 per cent disapproval. A new Axios/Ipsos poll released Tuesday found that Americans are getting more pessimistic about the pandemic, and losing trust in Biden at the same time.

“The COVID-19 vaccine is safe, effective, and our best defense against the virus, but should remain voluntary and never forced,” Abbott said in a statement upon issuing the order.
The executive order (pdf) states, “No entity in Texas can compel receipt of a COVID-19 vaccine by any individual, including an employee or a consumer, who objects to such vaccination for any reason of personal conscience, based on a religious belief, or for medical reasons, including prior recovery from COVID-19.”

“When people see a strong horse and a weak horse,” Osama bin Laden once famously quipped, “by nature they will like the strong horse.” America during the period in which Old Joe Biden continues to pretend to be president of the United States is decidedly a weak horse, and bin Laden’s old outfit has noticed. Last Wednesday, al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) released a video crowing over the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan and promising to inflict damage on the scale of 9/11 in America once again. The video, according to the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), featured yet another jihadi who was once held at Guantanamo, Ibrahim Al-Qousi,

During the 2020 election, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg spent hundreds of millions of dollars to turn out likely Democratic voters. But this wasn’t traditional political spending. He funded a targeted, private takeover of government election operations by nominally non-partisan — but demonstrably ideological — non-profit organizations.
Analysis conducted by our team demonstrates this money significantly increased Joe Biden’s vote margin in key swing states. This unprecedented merger of public election offices with private resources and personnel is an acute threat to our republic, and should be the focus of electoral reform efforts moving forward.
The 2020 election wasn’t stolen — it was likely bought by one of the world’s wealthiest

Gifted students have to check their privilege and get over themselves.
It doesn’t matter whether they are minorities. It doesn’t matter whether they were brought to the United States as children. It doesn’t matter how poor their families may be. It doesn’t matter if they have inspiring personal stories. It doesn’t matter how hard they work.
No, the very fact that they are getting accommodated in classrooms and programs that don’t necessarily represent the demographic make-up of their school districts at large means that they need to be brought down a notch.
If there were any doubt that “equity” is now the most destructive concept in American life,

We’ve written before about the madness in the Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS), most recently when it comes to parents protesting LGBTQ pornography in the school system’s libraries. There’ve also been newsworthy moments when parents spoke out about Critical Race Theory in the school district. One of the most explosive moments occurred when the school board, tired of having angry parents (i.e., voters) yell at them, called the cops, with several arrests, including that of one man getting physically dragged out. It now turns out that the man was protesting the fact that the school’s policies led to a boy in a skirt sexually assaulting his daughter

Texas Governor Greg Abbott is clamping down all the way. The newest executive order from his office stipulates that vaccine mandates are not allowed anywhere in Texas from both a public and private entity standpoint. It’s indicated this is being done because the Governor believes these vaccination mandates are causing more of a disruption to the state than the pandemic itself at this point."I issued an Executive Order prohibiting vaccine mandates by ANY entity in Texas. I also added the issue to the Special Session agenda. The COVID-19 vaccine is safe, effective, & our best defense against the virus, but should always remain voluntary & never forced."

Multiculturalism is meeting reality once again as Afghan refugees are making their presence known in the countries that welcomed them, and the fun is just beginning. One place that has experienced the richness and vibrance of diversity is Scarborough, North Yorkshire, England, which is a popular vacation spot. It’s easy to see why: It’s on the Yorkshire Coast in a beautiful area, and when its architecturally stunning Grand Hotel was built in 1867, it was the largest hotel in Europe. The hotel still boasts numerous attractions. It is described on Tripadvisor as “one of the town’s landmark features and instantly recognisable on the

Is there any level of phoniness Kamala Harris can't demonstrate?
Back when Joe Biden had disappeared during Afghanistan's collapse and was refusing to take phone calls from British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Harris had a golden opportunity to step in and show leadership. But she had better things to do.
What was she doing as Joe Biden went AWOL? Cocooning into her comfort zone, which was engaging in selfies and public relations. Call it her 'My Pet Goat' moment, except that it wasn't by accident. While Afghanistan was collapsing into terror and Americans were trapped behind enemy lines in chaos, she was busy making at least three space videos

People were witnesses of a very strange beatdown in front of a Florida night club last night — and video of the fight was sent to us this morning.
In the footage we can see a man with no legs getting attacked by two other people, shortly after the man who witnesses allege that the was an ex-military brings them both to the ground.
The mayhem continued from there when the man without legs served the thugs that attacked him instant justice.

Norway's Supreme Court on Monday ruled that two wind parks built in the country's west were harming reindeer herders from the Sami people by encroaching on their pastures. It was not immediately clear what the consequences of the finding will be. But lawyers for the herders say the 151 turbines completed on the Fosen peninsula in 2020 -- part of the biggest land-based wind park in Europe -- could be torn down. "Their construction has been declared illegal, and it would be illegal to continue operating them," said Andreas Bronner, who represented a group of herders alleging harm from one of the

Joan Collins said she doesn’t engage in social media for fear of cancel culture.
The "Dynasty" actress spoke with The Sunday Times where she discussed why she does not engage online, noting that she steers clear of any and all online discourse for fear that her words will be misconstrued or taken out of context.
"I don’t want to engage in any way, shape or form with these morons," she stated.
However, that doesn’t mean the 88-year-old doesn’t have opinions. For example, she noted that she believes Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been given enough of a platform in recent years.

Chaos caused by Southwest Airlines cancellations is set to enter a fourth day on Tuesday after the airline warned it is still working on the problems that triggered hundreds of flight cancellations. The third straight day of canceled and delayed flights left passengers stranded and steaming from California to the East Coast, with pictures from airports showing long queues and children sleeping on the floor. More than 350 flights on Monday were cancelled by the Texas airline following a weekend of major disruptions that it blamed on bad weather and air traffic control issues - but was the only airline to face problems on such a scale.

A blue bus with the words "Enough is Enough" rolled into Fort Myers, Fla., with much fanfare on Monday, greeted by small business supporters and the local congressman.
It was the latest in a high-profile tour railing against the Biden administration's economic policies, one that has captured the fancy of talk radio, Fox News and many business entrepreneurs as worries grow that a perfect economic storm may be forming from the combined forces of inflation, tax increases, large federal spending and regulatory overreach.
Two weeks earlier, a lawsuit was announced on behalf of small businesses challenging the Biden administration's COVID-19 vaccine mandate, rousing cheers from the mom and pop shops

Since the early days of the pandemic, the public has been misled and misinformed, the goalposts pulled down and taken out of the stadium, and the data too often puzzling. Much of the country has lost confidence in politicians and public health officials. It’s important to know if those doubts are legitimate or misplaced.
One route to the truth would be a federal grand jury probe that would determine if the case and death counts have been inflated and not reflective of reality.
Would it be a witch hunt? A political sideshow? No. It would be a sober and justifiable inquiry.

First Lady Jill Biden is scheduled to be in Chicago on Tuesday and Wednesday to honor National Hispanic Heritage Month, less than a week after President Joe Biden’s visit to Elk Grove Village to push businesses to mandate COVID-19 vaccines or weekly testing. The Chicago stops are part of a swing that also includes Kansas City, Kansas and Allentown, Pennsylvania for what the White House said are part of “her series of conversations and listening sessions with the Hispanic community by taking ‘charlas’ on the road.” Charla means chat or conversation in Spanish.

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) marked Columbus Day by praising the “courage, risk-taking, and heroism” of Christopher Columbus.(Photo) In a statement, DeSantis pushed back against critics who seek to diminish Columbus’s exploration that led to the founding of the United States of America. He said: Columbus Day commemorates the life and legacy of the Italian explorer, Christopher Columbus, who made Europeans conscious of the existence of the New World and whose travels opened the door for the development of European settlements in the Western Hemisphere, which would ultimately lead to the establishment of the United States of America.

COVID has been with us for more than a year and a half, along with masks and distancing, since last year, and vaccine mandates, passports, and booster shots have been added. (snip) more are dead under the steady seasoned hand of Joe Biden, and the year is only three quarters over. How can this be? (snip) Countries or states with high vaccination rates that are now experiencing a surge in cases, higher than last year, may answer that question.

As of 2020, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a Democrat, and her husband, real estate developer Paul Pelosi, had accumulated a combined $315,000,000 in wealth, and according to an investigation by Fox News host Jesse Watters, something about this doesn’t seem right.During a segment Saturday on Fox News’ “Watters’ World,” he dug deep into her and her husband’s past and discovered nuggets of information suggesting corruption may be afoot. He started by noting that sometime after Pelosi’s husband opened the real estate and venture capital investment and consulting firm Financial Leasing Services, Inc., he used his newly made “connections” to push her into politics,

KAMALA HARRIS -Vice President -Put in charge of the border crisis, Harris quickly clarified that she would concentrate on “root causes,” not the border itself.

When politics is your religion and government is your God, a public building is your church. The four-hour disturbance at the U.S. Capitol building on January 6, according to Beltway aristocracy and the media, wasn’t a legitimate protest that turned violent in some areas—it was a sacrilege. Never mind that the building itself sustained minimal damage—early reports estimated $30 million for repairs but the actual figure is around $1 million—the real vandalism occurred when thousands of Americans wearing MAGA hats invaded the cathedral of government power occupied by America’s political deity. And the alleged apostates are paying a dear price.

A follow-up to Ed’s post this morning. There’s a lot of material on the wires today about Democrats and their sympathizers looking at Biden’s falling job approval and wondering just how much of a walloping they’re going to get in the midterms. Not whether they’re going to get one, but how much of one.
What ties these various takes together is the sense that there’s just not much the party can do to avoid it. We’re still further removed from Election Day 2022 at the moment than we are from Election Day 2020, but there’s a whiff of fatalism to the commentary that once a president sinks

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has made another move against nonsensical COVID policies. Today, he signed an executive order banning vaccine mandates by any entity in the state. This would hit corporations that have begun to follow federal guidelines to mandate vaccines for all their employees. And though an official rule from OSHA has yet to materialize as threatened, Abbott’s move is in direct defiance of Joe Biden. This comes in the midst of a meltdown happening at Southwest Airlines over a coming vaccine mandate in November. Reports continue to indicate that employees of the Texas-based air carrier are using sick days in anticipation
