Vice President Kamala Harris disparaged European explorers who discovered the Americas during a speech she gave on Tuesday at the National Congress of American Indians 78th Annual Convention, claiming they were guilty of horrific crimes against Native Americans.“Since 1934, every October, the United States has recognized the voyage of the European explorers who first landed on the shores of the Americas,” proclaimed Harris in Portland, Oregon. “But that is not the whole story. That has never been the whole story.”
“Those explorers ushered in a wave of devastation for tribal nations — perpetrating violence, stealing land, and spreading disease,” she stated,

Southwest CEO Gary Kelly had a major announcement on Tuesday about the vaccine mandate the airline recently issued: His company won’t be enforcing it.
During an interview with ABC News on Tuesday, the CEO said that no employees would be fired over the company’s vaccine mandate. Earlier, the airline announced that all employees needed to get vaccinated against COVID-19 by November 24 or face termination.
“We are not going to fire any employees over this,” Kelly said. [Video]
The Southwest CEO told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos there was “no evidence” any type of demonstration had caused the major service disruptions over the weekend. Nearly 2,000 Southwest flights were cancelled,

The Treasury Secretary has defended plans to monitor bank transactions of more than $600, insisting that the scheme was designed to end 'tax fraud' by billionaires, and would not mean Americans' accounts were recorded. The new proposal requires financial institutions to annually report the total amount that went in and out of the bank as well as loan and investment accounts if within that year the accounts hold a value of at least $600 or if the total transactions are $600 or more in a year. More simply, this means that if total funds flowing in and out of a credit or debit account

The White House on Tuesday warned Republican governors of Texas and Florida that President Joe Biden would override their efforts to fight coronavirus vaccine mandates in their states.
“We know that federal law overrides state law,” she said referring to state attempts to ban vaccine passports.
She accused Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott of playing politics by issuing executive orders that fight vaccine passports.
“Why would you be taking steps that prevent the saving of lives that make it more difficult to save lives across the country or in any state?” she asked.
Psaki argued that the governors were “putting politics ahead of public health.”

Food companies are coming under renewed pressure to use less salt after U.S. regulators spelled out long-awaited guidelines aimed at reducing sodium levels in dozens of foods including condiments, cereals, french fries and potato chips. The voluntary goals finalized Wednesday for 163 foods are intended to help lower the amount of salt people eat. A majority of the sodium in U.S. diets comes from packaged or restaurant foods — not the salt added to meals at home — making it hard for people to make changes on their own. To get people used to eating less salt, the Food and Drug Administration said reductions have to be gradual and CORRECTIONS*

Millions of retirees will see a significant boost to their Social Security checks as the Biden administration gave its cost of living adjustment (COLA) the most significant boost in nearly 40 years. Social Security checks will raise 5.9%, about $92 for the average retired worker, in a shocking display of inflation. For the last 10 years, an inflation lull has led to checks that rise only 1.65% per year on average. The Social Security Administration has not raised benefits so drastically year-over-year since 1982. A typical retired worker will now receive $1,657 a month starting next year while a typical couple's benefits will rise $157 to $2,753 per month.

The White House admitted Wednesday they were unable to guarantee packages would arrive on time this Christmas. “We are not the postal service, or UPS, or FedEx,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki said. “We cannot guarantee. What we can do is use every lever at the federal government’s disposal to reduce delays.” Psaki repeatedly posited that the government would work to solve supply chain issues, especially at American ports where ships are forced to wait in offshore traffic before they can get unloaded.

Katie Couric has admitted to 'protecting' Ruth Bader Ginsburg from public backlash by cutting out negative comments she made about people who kneel during the national anthem. There they go again, federal experts changing their minds on more health guidelines. Masks, no masks, two weeks of lock-down, well, no, maybe two months, yada yada yada. How can anyone keep up, especially if they’re old and feeble like our current president? This time the new federal advice is about aspirin, the world’s most widely-used drug. You know how since 2016 you should take one aspirin tablet a day to prevent heart disease, the nation’s and even the world’s top killer? Around 30 million Americans pop one of them daily, me included. Well, forget it. A government-backed advisory board just

American Airlines and Southwest Airlines said Tuesday they plan to follow federal guidelines to have their employees vaccinated against COVID-19 by December, defying an order by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to block such mandates. American Airlines, based in Fort Worth, Texas, said in a statement to USA Today that the governor’s order “does not change anything” for the company and that it believes the federal vaccine mandate “supersedes any conflicting state laws.” Southwest gave the news agency a similar response. The airline, based in Dallas, ordered all of its employees to get their COVID-19 shots by Dec. 8 to comply with a federal directive.

Candace Cameron Bure told ABC’s “Behind The Table” podcast she has post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) from her time co-hosting ABC’s “The View.”
“The stress and the anxiety — I actually have a pit in my stomach right now,” Bure, who co-hosted the show from 2015 to 2016 across two seasons, said during the most recent podcast episode. “There was only one type of stress that I’ve ever felt in my life, that came from that show. And I [have] PTSD, like, I can feel it. It was so difficult, and to manage that emotional stress was very, very hard.”

Law professor Wendy Murphy said Tuesday on MSNBC that the Texas legislature should be impeached for treason for passing a law banning abortions after six weeks into a pregnancy.
Murphy said, “I think that it is so clear that the six-week abortion ban is unconstitutional. What everybody should be talking about is whether a state can avoid complying with the Constitution by passing a law that forbids the courts to correct them when they do it.”
She continued, “So, in my opinion, the Texas legislature should be impeached for treason. What they did was not just offend women’s rights by enacting a law that they knew and discussed openly would be unconstitutional,
