Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Sen. Tom Cotton schemed to prevent Republican senators joining President Donald Trump's effort to overturn the result of the 2020 presidential election, according to a new book. It describes how McConnell believed Cotton's conservative credentials would make him a useful ally in persuading the G.O.P. not to go along with Trump's plan to prevent certification of the results. The tale is revealed in journalist David Drucker's book, 'In Trump's Shadow: The Battle for 2024 and the Future of the GOP,' which is published next week by Twelve.

I used to like Sen. Cotton. Then I noticed that he smiles at inappropriate times, or it seemed so to me. Then it seemed his speeches or commentary were canned. Then on the evening of 1/6, he referred to the melee as "an armed insurrection". He gave himself away, in my opinion. I had watched a lot of live feed and videos of the events (watched President Trump's speech on RightSideBroadcast , saw some film of the only used of deadly force, the shooting of Ashly Babbitt, the rowdies STROLLING through the Rotunda, taking selfies and admiring the amazing murals, some silly behavior, some stupid behavior some very bad behavior and violence. Stupid foolish dumb. It was clear to me that there were outside agitators, infiltrators, "agents provocateurs". So we have found out since that the Fetid Bureau of Investigations was involved. It's the lies. Lies and lies and the lying liars lying. The petty complaints and pouting while about the business of destroying political enemies, including us on the Conservative side of the spectrum. In any case, 1/6 was was a demonstration of bad judgement but CLEARLY NOT an "armed insurrection" and i lost any remaining respect i had had for Cotton

This is why Pres Trump should have chosen to start a new political party. One more reason I might vote for Pres Trump, but will look for any alternative to the RINO or Dem being offered up.

So the author is suggesting that McConnell and Cotton are partly responsible for the destruction of America that is occurring? I can believe that given McConnell's exceptionally strong ties to the Chinese Communist Party. Cotton talks a good game, but I wonder.

Let's just say that every one of those six infamous states was challenged...and that the challenges were not sustained after the great debate that would have certainly followed. Then what? I suggest the GOP would be limping around with six gaping bullet holes in its feet. The fact is the GOP Trumpistas had nothing - still have nothing but conjecture, logic, and anomalies. Sidney Powell promised a kraken...who appeared less than the Loch Ness Monster. Rudy and others went to the courts to be laughed out as they had nothing but empty, even conflicting arguments and the wrong venue. They should have been after the legislatures...and never did. PDT should have appeared on six state capitol steps alone demanding a hearing and an investigation. He never did. Q keeps promising restoration by (fill in a date). The "true believers" still believe. All politics is local. It takes a political idiot to challenge the honesty of his home state's elections without conclusive proof - especially when the legislature is of your party, and they're confirming those Biden electors without question. Trotting out some statistics experts doesn't fill the bill. These senators should have been cajoling those six legislatures...none, to my knowledge did. And there is a reason: The UNIPARTY was at work in this election, and that includes the GOPe and its merry band, not just Democrat commies.

The voluntary goals finalized Wednesday for 163 foods are intended to help lower the amount of salt people eat. A majority of the sodium in U.S. diets comes from packaged or restaurant foods — not the salt added to meals at home — making it hard for people to make changes on their own.
