Chinese trade officials said Saturday that they pushed US Trade Representative Katherine Tai to end Trump-era tariffs in a virtual meeting that marked the end of a standoff between the world’s two largest economies.A spokesman for Tai characterized the meeting between his boss and Vice Premier Liu He, China’s top trade negotiator, as “a candid exchange.”Tai “emphasized U.S. concerns relating to its state-led, non-market policies and practices that harm American workers, farmers and businesses,” spokesman Adam Hodge said.China’s Xinhua state news agency, said Liu “negotiated over the cancellation of tariffs and sanctions,

Keep the tariff and bring manufacturing back here. We see the results of relying on offshore production of vital components during COVID nonsense. The weak link is transportation when ships can be stalled for many reasons, not the least blowing them out of the water.

What was the purpose for the insane opposition of the Left between 2017 and 2021? To usher in a planned nihilism, an incompetent chaos, a honed anarchy to wreck the country in less than a year? Then -No sooner had Donald Trump entered office than scores of House Democrats filed motions for impeachment, apparently for thought crimes that he might, some day, in theory, could possibly commit.Foreign Policy published an article by a liberal Obama Administration lawyer outlining all the ways to remove an elected president as soon as possible—including consideration of a military coup. A forthcoming book from bestselling author Mollie Hemingway seeks to set the record straight on what really happened before, during, and after the 2020 election that made the cycle a fraught experience as institutions exerted heavy-handed influence over the process that ended as some of those within Trump's inner circle caused self-inflicted wounds to the president's legal efforts. An excerpt from "Rigged: How the Media, Big Tech, and the Democrats Seized Our Elections" sheds light on what went wrong with President Trump's legal challenge to election results in Pennsylvania, one of the pivotal cases that determined the winner of the 2020 election. Hemingway shares the details —

Monday, former Secretary of State and 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said on ABC’s “The View” that America was still in a “constitutional crisis” because the Republican Party is a “cult” following former president Donald Trump.Co-host Sara Haines asked, “We know from a new Senate report that Trump tried to pressure leaders at the DOJ to overturn his election loss based on election fraud lies, those attempts to delegitimize President Biden’s win sowed enough doubt to cause the insurrection on January 6th. How close do you think we came to a full constitutional crisis?”Clinton said, “You know, I think we not only came close to a full constitutional crisis,

A series of supply chain bottlenecks has created a monumental shortage of goods across America, with shelves in pharmacies, department stores, grocery stores and more sitting empty while cargo ships, freight trains and trucks struggle to distribute goods quickly enough to keep up with demand. The shortage is not down to a lack of goods - they have been produced. But backlogs at shipping yards and rail yards across the country, combined with a lack of workers means the items aren't being offloaded quickly enough and distributed across stores. Dozens of cargo ships are waiting to dock in California and further up the West Coast,

Among the federal holidays, Columbus Day has become one of the least honored, partially due to controversy about misdeeds associated with colonization. In fact, Columbus never set foot on or came close to any territory that later became part of the continental United States. The history of Christopher Columbus is actually less messy and more consequential than many of the other heroes of our national holidays. There is not only a great deal to celebrate in Columbus, but the man embodied a range of attributes that are necessary to solving many of our contemporary problems and even saving our country from further decline and collapse resulting from group think,

The attorney general thought to be such a moderate that 20 Republicans confirmed his nomination turns out to be a radical ideologue hellbent on targeting President Biden’s political foes. But Garland’s ominous memo last week directing the FBI to investigate parents as domestic terror threats was a big mistake. He cited no evidence for what he claims is a “disturbing spike in harassment, intimidation, and threats of violence” against school boards.

California will soon ban the sale of new gas-powered leaf blowers and lawn mowers after Governor Gavin Newsom signed off on the new law on Saturday. The move is aimed at curbing emissions from a category of small engines on pace to produce more pollution each year than passenger vehicles. The gas-powered equipment to be banned uses small off-road engines, a broad category that includes generators, lawn equipment, pressure washers, chainsaws, weed trimmers and even golf carts. Under the new law these machines must be zero-emissions, meaning they'll have to be battery-powered or plug-in.(Snip)'This is a pretty modest approach to trying

We’ve been talking about how bad the polling has been for Joe Biden, even in deep-blue states like Minnesota. How do you know when it’s getting really bad? When even CNN — usually all in to pimp for Biden — is acknowledging how underwater he is in job approval. He’s down even with Democrats, but what they say is really animating the poll is how much he has dropped with independents. As CNN’s John Berman and Harry Enten put it, the technical term is “not good.” He’s down 10 points among Democrats, 12 among Republicans, but among independents, he’s down 19 points.
