A University of Michigan music professor is facing backlash after showing the 1965 film "Othello" with star Laurence Olivier in blackface, a school official announced.
David Gier, dean of the School of Music, Theatre & Dance, said a new professor will be taking over the class previously taught by Bright Sheng to "allow for a positive learning environment," The American Spectator reports.
"Professor Sheng’s actions do not align with our school’s commitment to anti-racist action, diversity, equity and inclusion," Gier said last week, adding that Sheng has been reported to the Office of Equity, Civil Rights, and Title IX.

Hmm. Playing a black character, and not permitted to wear appropriate makeup?
They really are mentally deranged. They prove it every single day.

During the years of Shakespeare, women’s roles were played by men. Women were not allowed to be on stage. But I would imagine that would be ok by today’s intellectuals.
Gay pride Dontcha know!

OMG!!!! If you are paying for an education at this school, it's time to have a nice long conversation with the Dean of the School of Music.

Don't be surprised if Book Burning is most likely on the agenda.
Their ideology calls for the "peaceful" wearing of armbands.

I've often thought that Othello was not meant to be African. A Moor is someone from the Mediterranean area. Spain or Portugal comes to mind. Have Javier Bardem play Othello and it would be correct. Anyway, the oh so offended pick and choose who they get offended by. I've always found it odd when some of my friends swoon over the Rock Hudson romantic roles. He didn't like women - not that way. It just shows what acting is.

What if a book written by a white author has a black cover?
If Jen Psaki wrote a book what color would the cover have to be, ginger?
Must review Obama's books, looking to get triggered.

The University of Michigan has become a laughingstock. When are the donors going to say enough is enough and demand that the trustees replace the current administration with adults?

The movie Holiday Inn has a blackface scene and they also sing 'White' Christmas. Must now be on the forbidden list.

Will there be protests from witches against " The Wizard of Oz" ? Margaret Hamilton wore greenface as the Wicked Witch of the West . And what about Lassie ? "She " was played by a male dog. For decades. The left is impossibly self righteous and altogether predictable .

So following this logic no actor should ever be allowed to wear makeup. Is that correct? Just as well they are a braindead segment of our population anyway and should probably be replaced by animation. Are all of our universities now just cradles of insanity or just a select few of the particularly stupid?

Here is an interesting problem.
Let's say Professor X is teaching a 'history of films' course.
Would he be allowed to show Birth of a Nation? The Jazz Singer? Cabin in the Sky? Any film with Stepnfetchit in the cast? Little Rascal films??

A few days ago Sarah Silverman proclaimed that only Jewish actors should be allowed to play Jewish Characters.
The day before that , some Trannie activist proclaimed that only actual transsexuals be allowed to play gender bending characters.
I would go a step farther and demand that only actually smart actors be allowed to play smart characters, and only actually wise actors play wise characters.

I hope the students can find a few statues of Laurence Olivier to tear down. Just getting some Professor fired is hardly enough to assuage the trauma they have suffered.

OK, so if a movie has a character that is insane, only a Dem actor can play that role?
