The new mayor of a village in a Chicago suburb unleashed a firestorm after it has emerged that she hired a registered child sex offender who worked on her campaign to be the town's code enforcement officer—a job that requires him to inspect inside homes and businesses.
Trustees in the Village of Dolton—a community of 23,000 located just south of Chicago—say they are appalled that Mayor Tiffany Henyard offered Lavelle Redmond a municipal job without consulting them.(Snip)Redmond, 46, served 24 years in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault with a weapon stemming from a gang rape that took place

"Despite facing backlash from village leaders and residents, Heynard has defended her hiring decision, saying she believes in 'second chances' for ex-convicts who had repaid their debts to society."
A second chance is one thing, giving this person a job that REQUIRES him to enter peoples' homes is quite another. Time to impeach her, throw her out of office & fire him.

Without looking at the details I already knew neither the mayor or her employee would ever have the need of sun tan lotion. I am actually saddened by that. But it is the reality we live in.

Laws don't mean anything to Democraps - even if they wrote and helped pass them. They only ever apply to someone else - especially if there is some political advantage involved

Lets concede, for the sake of argument, that second chances are a good thing. And, that he is truly reformed.
Now please answer exactly WHAT qualifies this man to be a code enforcement officer? In the 5 years that he's been on parole, has he managed to become an expert in electrical systems, fire life safety systems, building codes, ADA laws, HVAC codes, Plumbing codes, Elevator codes....etc etc etc etc.
I've never been in prison and have been working in and around the various trades since 1991. In no way does even 30 plus years in the filed qualify me to be a code enforcement officer.

If he is to enforce the International Property Maintenance Code he can likely learn enough, depending on the job description. Writing Notices of Violation letters requires a very good command of the language and the ability to impart the particulars to the violator, I suspect he has little qualifications except race.
