Lucianne Goldberg Now: Where Is the Literary
Agent Today?

Original Article

Posted By: FlyRight, 9/8/2021 7:26:24 PM

Lucianne Goldberg is a conservative literary agent who was an important player in the Bill Clinton/Monica Lewinsky scandal because she urged Pentagon civil servant Linda Tripp to tape her conversations with Lewinsky about the president. Goldberg’s role in the saga was resurrected by ABC in 2019 in a two-hour documentary called Truth and Lies, and she plays a key role in the new FX series, Impeachment: American Crime Story, which chronicles the saga of Lewinsky, Tripp, and the president.

I never understood why people felt they had to get news links from Drudge when they could get everything they really needed to know from Lucianne without the clutter. Now that Drudge has gone to the darkside there's no longer any excuse. This and Freerepublic have been my primary sources since they were first available mainly because they attract a better class of reader. Live long and prosper.

Been with Lucianne since the turn of the century. Seen a great deal in that time. She was kind enough, also a while back, to send an Ldot pin to me. It's in a safe. I sincerely hope this continues into the future. She is a great lady.

Many Conservatives have been 'social distancing' much of their lives. I'm not a joiner and I live way down the dirt road. But......I have enjoyed the community of writers and thinkers graciously hosted by Mz. Lucianne and her loyal staff. I don't even know how many years I've been pontificating and saving the world through Mz. Lucianne's good offices but I am eternally grateful for all the highly opinionated and often erudite company.

I watched the first episode of the FX series, Impeachment. I was sorry to see it continued the same dem narrative that was constructed at the time. The Republicans were just waiting for an excuse to get Bill Clinton, and all the characters that weren’t Clintonistas were either crazy, stupid, petty, vengeful, or some combination of such. I adore the actress who plays Ms. Lucianne, but she was portrayed as a cold, calculating witch who was out to get anybody she could, just to sell a book. And for the kicker, Vince Foster really did kill himself. It just made me angry all over again.

Amen to all commenters and my heartfelt thanks to our gracious hostess of this Salon who has insisted since the beginning that we mind our manners...which in recent years has become increasingly difficult! Lots of bloody tongue-biting going on, I'm sure. Like many of you this site is my first click in the morning and more times during the day than I can count. An added note...I've donated frequently to ensure its continuance, but today I was restricted to only $50. What did I do wrong? Love and appreciate all of you.

If I may, I will tell you the first time I learned of Lucianne was during my daily listen of Rush. Unfortunately, The Maha Rushie was off that day. He had some motor-mouthed rube in the Attila the Hun chair. I seem to recall this rube was named Hawn Shannity or somesuch. Regardless, Ms. L announced to the world that she was hoping to see that rodham-klintoon beast do a perp walk in handcuffs out of the People's House. Immediately, I fell in love! As soon as this site came on-line, I joined! In spite what some of her mods may argue, this site went on-line PRIOR to 2000! (Yes, I have argued with them about the inception date!) You may figure out that I am not a dimoRat liar by the Rush-related nym I selected. I have had the great fortune to have one or two little keyboard convos with Lady L. over the years. The last thing I'll bore everyone with is that I am particularly proud of the fact that I've many **MANY** years on this orb and I ALWAYS VOTE! ...and have *NEVER* - *EVER* voted for a dimoRat!

I've been around here for about twenty years--I think. (Memory fails as we age.) Lucianne has been a rock all that time. As with others, this is the first site I check every morning to find out what's going on. On a personal level, Lucianne provided invaluable assistance in launching my modest career as a political satirist back around the time Obama became president. I've thanked her privately for her help and here thank her publicly for believing in me and, along with Michael Walsh of Breitbart's bigjournalism.com, for giving me a forum to display my wares. I remain indebted to both.

Clarification: Michael Walsh was editor of bigjournalisn.com from 2010-2012. These days he writes columns for the New York Post and the Epoch Times, and he is a founder of the-pipeline.org, "dedicated to opposing the Environmentalist Movement's undermining of freedom and prosperity..." He is also the author of the recent "Last Stands: Why Men Fight When All Is Lost," a military history unlike no other that has won rave reviews.

I’ve been here forever also. Miss Lucianne is the best! I also think the most intelligent conservatives post here. I’ve learned a lot from them. I confess to being leery of Trump for president because I thought he would become a liberal once he won. Now, I’m so thankful he won and know he also won in 2020. What a mess we’re in now. I also miss some of the old posters like Stormcentr. She was always thoughtful and fair in my opinion. Thanks Lucianne for all you do.

Here since '98. I'd listen to Lucianne and Sidney's radio cast on the internet first thing in the morning, lowest tech and always fun and engaging. I remember the great music going into ad breaks and an occasional call from a lonely voice in the Frisco Bay area, Thomas Lifson. This site kept me sane as the 2000 election ground on for weeks. God bless you, Ms. G. And oh yeah, watching the FX series "Impeachment" and it's what you'd expect. Despite the paint by numbers portrayal of those on the right, the ugliness of the Clinton's and their enablers can be only so whitewashed.

My sister alerted me to Drudge and Lucianne.com when the Clinton/Lewinsky scandal broke. I was hooked immediately and visited both sites numerous times daily. We had recipe-sharing "round tables" at Thanksgiving, including one year when the hilarious "whore squirrel" recipe became part of Lucianne history. There was also an amusing virtual cocktail party, and a group of posters planned a get-together and met in person on one occasion. We sympathized and suffered through several posters' terminal illnesses, and one couple who met on Lucianne eventually married; There also were a few annoying "trolls" who regularly visited and posted their anti-Conservative comments, but they were out-numbered and quickly put in their place! Lucianne continues to provide a wonderful escape from annoying liberal propaganda, and I'm so happy I found it those many years ago!

In this insane world, this site is my haven of reasoned thought. It is the place I go to first to read the news of the day. I can count on it to bring me the news, the good, bad, and ugly. Thankfully, the salon is never ugly here. We may disagree but it is always with respect and we need that in this crazy world. I don’t know if anyone else does this but I look forward to every comment. They inform me as to how people are reacting to the news and that is important to me. I sometimes learn more from the comments than I do from many of the articles. You guys are so smart, witty and just down right funny. It does have a family feel here which I so appreciate and that is all due to our gracious and lovely hostess, Lucianne. During many political ups and downs it has been my lifeline to sanity. When I have wanted to pull my hair out, I have found hope and humor here. While this is a different vehicle of friendship, it is a very important one to me. I feel a connection and camaraderie that is uplighting and gives me hope in the dismal world we are experiencing now. Thank you all for that. Miss Lucianne, I am so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this wonderful community. You are providing a service that is important and so needed. As we travel through the world, it’s wonderful to have a friendly place full of wonderful people who love this country. Each day that I am able to check in with my friends here to begin the day is a blessing. Thank you is not enough, but it is heartfelt.

Lucianne.com has provided “Clarity and Conviction” to countless people searching for answers during troubled political times. I’ve been here since 1999. One day, back in 2000, I received a handwritten note in the mail. I did not recognize the return address. As I walked the quarter-mile trek from my mailbox back to our house, I began reading the handwritten words of thanks from Mrs. Goldberg herself. Her kind note is framed and hangs in my office. The ink has faded somewhat over the years, but I cherish this piece of history. My L.Dot pin is firmly affixed to the frame. Lucianne Goldberg is an unsung American hero who has, in many ways, shaped the course of our personal history. Through her website, we (the L-dot family) have gained knowledge and insight. We have learned much and taught others. Thank you, dear Ms. Lucianne. We treasure you and your staff for helping us stay connected during the highs and lows of our shared American Experience.

Lucianne.com has been my home page for twenty years or so. It's the first site I visit every single day and it stays open all day every single day. I dearly love her and consider her family. I told her that once via email, with apologies, "you can't pick your family". I too treasure a handwritten note from her along with my Ldot pin. In honor of "Impeachment" I wonder if Staff could find the Home Page photo of Bill Clinton's book that was posted way back when. I'm sure many of y'all remember, it was HILARIOUS. It was his book "My Life", with a red bra splashed across his face. Just one of so many laugh out loud moments here at the Salon. I go back to the times when this site was a chat room. When it switched over to a Salon, we got new passwords. I was on Lucianne.com on the morning of 9/11. I turned on the TV to see the second tower hit. Luçianne is a friend I never met (like a pen pal back in the day). I do miss her chiming in or posting an op-ed on the site. She is the epitome of showing how to not let the bastahs get you down. I've had the pleasure to meet several L-dotters over the years. It's like being a member of a special club that has no religion restrictions, just bring your facts, logic, knowledge, and world experience to the table. I once equated a morning visit to Lucianne like a bunch of like-minded people gathered at the General Store, reading the paper and "discussing" over breakfast. Very much what Sydney would have wanted us all to continue. Thanks Ms G. Still remember you wearing your L-dot pin up on your collar while being interviewed on FOX because they would have cropped it if they knew what it meant.

Let’s dispense with the Mt. Everest of words that have been written to rationalize Joe Biden & Company’s passion––indeed, lust––to put nuclear weapons in the hands of the fanatical mullahs in the terrorist-run state of Iran. To be sure, the powers-in-power––more accurately those who are pulling their strings––have been busy creating distractions like Covid-19, the corrupt investigation into the January 6th so-called insurrection, and the strange “war” between Russia and Ukraine. But while Biden & Co. rally against Vladimir Putin, the U.S. continues to buy millions of dollars a day of Russian oil, in essence helping to finance the war against Ukraine,

For thousands of years, going back to the Bible, women have wept and grieved and pleaded to God over their miscarriages. Indeed, it took all these millennia for modern-day pharmaceutical companies to develop solutions to this ongoing nightmare. In the 1940s, they were happy to offer doctors the ability to prescribe diethylstilbestrol (DES) to prevent miscarriage. “You can tell them you would give it to your wife,” the marketing mavens from Big Pharma suggested to physicians.

It’s not as if the U.S. and its NATO allies have failed to react to Vladimir Putin’s amplifying threats and current onslaught against Ukraine. We’ve seen months of frantic U.S.-led diplomacy, European visits to the Kremlin, speeches in Munich, additional U.S. troops dispatched to reinforce NATO, UN Security Council meetings and new sanctions on top of old sanctions. Nonetheless, it’s hard to escape the sense that the mighty democracies of the West are not so much standing with Ukraine as sitting like spectators at the Colosseum — watching Ukraine do single combat against Russia.

A second producer for one of CNN’s top media personalities is reportedly under criminal investigation for “serious allegations” involving potential juvenile victims. The allegations against Rick Saleeby, a former senior producer for Jake Tapper’s “The Lead,” appear to be connected to reporting by Project Veritas. Saleeby resigned from CNN this month. “Fairfax County (Va.) Police Department confirmed to Fox News Digital a criminal investigation has been launched ‘into serious allegations involving potential juvenile victims’ and that ‘detectives assigned to the Child Exploitation Squad of the Major Crimes Bureau are leading this investigation,’”

WASHINGTON – As Capitol Hill grows more politically toxic, a new survey indicates most Americans are tired of the acrimony and think the sharp partisan divide is harming the nation. Nearly three of every four Americans said it would be good for the country if Americans "reject political hostility and divisiveness and focus more on their common ground," according to the new poll from Public Agenda and USA TODAY released Thursday. But they're also pessimistic. Fewer than one in 10 surveyed think political rancor between ordinary Americans will decrease in the next 10 years, compared to nearly half who think it will increase.

Televisions and phone screens lit up Monday night with the face of Rep. Liz Cheney as she slowly read text messages sent on January 6 to former President Donald Trump's chief of staff. Her methodical recounting of a series of texts to Mark Meadows from lawmakers, reporters, Fox News hosts and even Trump family members underscored what Cheney called Trump's "supreme dereliction of duty" to heed the calls to condemn the ongoing violence at the US Capitol. But the Wyoming Republican's central performance at the high-profile meeting of the House select committee investigating the January 6 riot also highlights how she has trod a distinct path among Republicans over the last year.

Nearly $100 billion at minimum has been stolen from COVID-19 relief programs set up to help businesses and people who lost their jobs due to the pandemic, the U.S. Secret Service said Tuesday. The estimate is based on Secret Service cases and data from the Labor Department and the Small Business Administration, said Roy Dotson, the agency's national pandemic fraud recovery coordinator, in an interview. The Secret Service didn't include COVID-19 fraud cases prosecuted by the Justice Department.

The federal government could take action against U.S. airlines on behalf of customers, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said Saturday. Many Americans have endured delays, cancelations, and other travel complications during the coronavirus pandemic, and in recent months, after many pandemic-related travel restrictions were lifted. Following Buttigieg’s own flight being canceled, forcing him to drive from Washington to New York, he said his department has authority to enforce action against airlines that do not sufficiently maintain consumer-protection standards, potentially requiring them to hire more staff. "That is happening to a lot of people, and that is exactly why we are paying

CNN correspondent John Harwood defended President Biden against critics who have concerns over the president's age during a segment on Sunday’s "Reliable Sources." On Thursday, The Atlantic writer Mark Leibovich penned an article pleading Biden not to run for re-election in 2024 due to concerns over his age. Biden, who is already the oldest person to hold the office, will turn 80 in November and would be 82 by the beginning of a potential second term. "Let me put this bluntly: Joe Biden should not run for re-election in 2024. He is too old," Leibovich wrote. CNN host Brian Stelter

The radical pro-abortion group, Jane’s Revenge, is planning more acts of domestic terrorism when the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision on Roe v. Wade is revealed, dubbed a “Night of Rage: An Autonomous Call to Action Against Patriarchal Supremacy.” The group posted its plans on the Anarchists Library website at the end of May in expectation of the ruling, expected sometime in June. Here are some excerpts from the manifesto: This is an event that should inspire rage in millions of people who can get pregnant…and yet, the response thus far has been tepid.(Snip)The next step is carrying that anger out into the world and expressing it physically.

79-year-old Joe Biden fell off his bike while riding near his home in Rehoboth Beach on Saturday morning. Secret Service agents swarmed the fallen commander-in-chief as he needed help in getting back up. He didn’t fall while he was riding it, as most people do… He literally was standing still, and he tipped right over.

Pro-abortion activists dressed in blood-soaked outfits and brandishing dolls held a protest outside the home of Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett on Saturday as the court is poised to overturn Roe V. Wade in the coming weeks. Protesters from the Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights group gathered outside Barrett's home in Falls Church, Virginia, waving signs calling on the Supreme Court to protect women's federal abortion rights. The group also carried dolls and wore white pants with blood stains around the crotch, which they said represented an increase in the number of forced births that would take place if Barrett and her fellow conservative justices strike down Roe v. Wade.

In her June 18/19 column at the Wall Street Journal, Ms. Noonan takes Hillary Clinton's "deplorables" slap at Trump voters and goes one — nay, two better. She refers to voters who question the results of the 2020 presidential election as "kooks, crooks, and freaks" and then smears the citizens who went to Washington, D.C. January 6, 2021 as "[t]hose poor stupid people." What is the basis for this criticism, which, arguably, is less ad hominem and, more accurately, descriptive of her mindset? Perhaps Ms. Noonan has not read Margot Cleveland's analysis in The Federalist showing how Georgia election officials failed to enforce the state's election laws in 2020.

Near the end of an especially tumultuous week in his tumultuous presidency, Joe Biden gave his first media interview in four months to someone who wasn’t a late-night comedian. For a public hungering for answers, it wasn’t worth the wait. The president chose The Associated Press and the sit-down lasted a little less than 30 minutes, but that was more than enough time for him to demonstrate again he’s got no new ideas or even a new way of packaging old ideas. Biden acknowledges America is in a funk, but shows no sense of compassion or determination to turn the tide.

This week, Hillary Clinton dispelled the rumors that she might be running for presidential office again in 2024. The 2016 Democratic candidate who faced former President Trump, told the Financial Times in an interview published Friday that there were no plans to run for office in 2024. “No, out of the question,” Clinton told the Financial Times. “First of all, I expect Biden to run. He certainly intends to run. It would be very disruptive to challenge that.” Clinton made her failed bid for President in 2016 and unsuccessfully sought the Democratic presidential nomination in 2008. Another bid for the office seems like it would be a wasted effort.

The war on America's suburbs has opened a new front. Buried in President Biden's proposed budget for 2023 is a $10-billion bribe for suburban communities to remove zoning barriers to high-density housing. (snip) It is a strong signal to Democrat-controlled states to gear up the decades-long efforts to bludgeon affluent communities into submitting to "housing justice" and providing their "fair share." (snip) These efforts are being fueled by housing activists and progressive think-tanks like the Brookings Institution, which declared in a January 2022 article: "By some measures, the suburban counties around New York City have some of the worst exclusionary zoning in the nation."

New York City needs to “do better” in preventing black residents from being driven out of their neighborhoods, Mayor Eric Adams said on Sunday, during an address marking the Juneteenth holiday. Speaking in Central Park, Adams compared the modern-day uprooting of people of color from neighborhoods across the US—including the five boroughs—to slavery. “When I was in Ghana last year, [I] saw how families were displaced, torn apart and brought over to America through slavery in the hulls of the ships, living in dungeons, spending months and months living in their human waste, having their babies taken from them, and saw them dispersed and displaced,” he said.

Extreme heat early in the summer season is calling into question the strength of electricity and power grids across the country, as warnings about brownouts and requests to conserve power continue to rise. As temperatures increase, the risk of power outages grows along with them. Warmer weather means higher power usage as people turn to devices like air-conditioning units and fans to try to cool their homes and offices. A May report from the non-profit North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) predicted a "high risk of energy emergencies during peak summer conditions" in the Upper Midwest.
