NEW YORK CITY—Just as New York City restaurateurs thought they would perhaps see their way out of crushing COVID-19 restrictions and back to “normalcy,” the city’s government dealt out another blow: Restaurants will now have to check customers for proof of vaccination, or themselves face fines. In response, restaurant owners seem to have flocked to one of two positions. Some support the rule as long as it prevents more lockdowns, while others reject it as an unreasonable imposition on their already vulnerable operations. Restaurants have been among the hardest hit by the lockdown imposed in response to the pandemic of the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus, which causes COVID-19. New York City

No families with children under 12 will be allowed in restaurants since the children are not old enough to get the vaccine. It also ignores those who had Covid and have natural antibodies.

It’s curious to me why state and national govt doesn’t overwhelm TV with PDA’s on the advantages of vaccination. The anti-smoking commercials were run every hour, it seems, a few years ago. It’s almost as if they really don’t want everyone to fax up.

The restaurants would have to increase prices by 50% to pay for this, as they would lose a third of their customers, and have to hire a person to stand at the door to check vaccinations. This policy increases prices and unemployment, as employees will not be required for a third less customers. Margins on a restaurant or a few percent. They may as well stay closed, or move out of NY. Financially, they would be better off to lay dormant, not operate, until failure of these policies is apparent, and there is a change in administration.

Those restaurant owners, probably all of them, voted for De Blasio they had no problem removing the salt shakers, reducing the size of sweet drinks but this is a bridge too far. New York City is Nazi Germany 1938. My advice to everyone stay out of Munich, Berlin only travel in the country side. Vacationers cut a wide path around New York City besides you could get mugged or murdered while seeking fun and pleasure. Unless a doctor physician is asking if I am vaccinated, a waiter or cashier will never get an answer from me it's only my business so I guess a restaurant or business who would do this doesn't want my business I'll go elsewhere. Other liberal cities will follow this so be prepared.

It can't be assumed that most restaurant owners voted for DeBlasio. Not all owners live in NYC. Also, some parts or NYC, like Staten Island, have a lot of Republicans. Many, especially small ethnic restaurant owners, my be legal residents but not citizens. Some, especially celebrity chefs, are French or British or Italian citizens. Most are just small businesses trying to eke out a living. It is unfair to burden them with enforcement of these ridiculous rules.

Yes #2 … yes yes yes. Why aren’t conservatives howling with laughter at the blue cities whose voters are the most unAmerican, ignorant louts in US history. We should be laughing at their blue state choices while red states flourish. If I told you that as a person who refuses to become a GMO in Central Florida, very little has changed in my life and the only covid horrors I see are on TV. We should be in tears LAUGHING at Democrats who are suffering. Make absolutely NO MISTAKE, I swore a lifetime oath to defend the Constitution against domestic enemies. Anyone pretending there is a “high road” to be taken at this time is a gutless coward. While in combat under fire, no one ever said, “Maybe we should just take the high road, be polite and not fight back.” Own it, Democrats … this is what you fools get for a lifetime of voting Democrat.

When sued to provide evidence of the virus the government of Alberta , Canada could not produce it.Alberta no longer has any mandates re the virus. The CDC says Delta and now Lambda variants are out there and are very , very bad. Australia has locked down people, forcing them to stay indoors with the army/police going door to door to check and enforce. In Germany the police are beating up people who protest. It's on video. People around the world are rising up against this nonsense. This was never about a virus that's on par with the seasonal flu. Which, it seems very few people had last year because the test used for covid could not distinguish between the flu and covid so everyone tested was diagnosed with covid. That's where the high numbers came from. Dying with and dying of are two very different things. This was always about fear and panic , killing the economy and control of the people. Trump rightfully left it up to the states and the ones with dem governors went all out dictatorial. In order for people to understand and learn , words are not always enough, the full impact evil of the left is being played out by their continued actions, their disregard for our Constitution, and their contempt for We, The People. Stay strong.

The most curious part of the story is that the law goes into effect in mid-August and enforcement goes into effect in September. Enforcement? Exactly what will that be? Police officers, health inspectors, bureaucrats, Nazi storm troopers, Klan members who? coming around to tables to ask to see the patrons' vaccine cards? Chilling. This is what happens when you elect democrats and absolute morons to office. NYC is in a heap of trouble, because most of its elected officials, are democrats and morons. This has been happening for about a month where I live. Not only restaurants but any stores including grocery stores. If found to be in violation, both the store and the person who cannot produce proof of vaccination or a rapid test less than 72 hours old are being fined. And rapid test are not free for the unvaccinated anymore. How are people supposed to survive if they cannot buy groceries? This is just another ploy by the government to force the vaccination on people. Not all businesses are checking and of course the police cannot be everywhere and things change day by day. I have been finding out where I can and cannot shop without producing my "papers". Any place that asks to see my "papers" sees my back as I turn around and walk away. So very little eating out for me and shopping is quite a challenge, but I will sort it out until they knock at my door and try to inject me, kicking and screaming.

(I used scare quotes above because it is NOT a vaccine but just a glorified flu shot that probably will need boosters every year. Unlike true vaccines, e.g., polio, whooping cough, diphtheria, TB, etc. which you need to get only once.)

The vaccines are still unapproved, meaning that legally, they're experimental drugs. Under the Nuremberg Code, nobody can be coerced into a medical experiment. So there will be lawsuits against the city.

One of the most fascinating questions about WW2 concerns when the Nazis realized they had lost the war. Some say the generals knew early as December 1941, when Operation Barbarossa was stopped before Moscow, that the great throw of the dice had failed. Others say civilian leaders came to it in 1942 when Case Blue failed to secure the oil they needed to fight on in the East. But most certainly the public moment had come by February 1943, when Joseph Goebbels delivered his famous “Total War” speech admitting that, far from attaining victory, the Reich would be very lucky to survive without a mobilization on a Communist scale.
