Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott accused the Biden administration Thursday of “jeopardizing the health and safety of Texans on a daily basis” after Attorney General Merrick Garland threatened a lawsuit over a new order allowing state troopers to stop and turn around vehicles suspected of carrying illegal immigrants.
In a letter to Abbott, Garland claimed the governor’s order was “dangerous” as well as “contrary to federal law and cannot be enforced.” The attorney general also claimed the order was unconstitutional, as it “interferes with [federal] immigration enforcement” and obstructs the “release of individuals and the ability of those individuals to comply with federal immigration law.”
Let that little pantywaist Garland sue. He has no standing whatsoever. If the federal government has abdicated its responsibility to protect our borders, it falls upon the governors of the border states to do so, using all resources at their disposal.
Garland is a little commie in a role too big for him to handle, so he is now reduced to running around threatening to sue everyone who opposes his drooling master. Call this little punks' bluff, and tell him to shove it. If he sets foot inside your state, arrest the SOB.

Gov. Greg Abbott,
Attorney General Merrick Garland is a threat to the well being and safety of our country. His ultimate desire is for open borders. Very similar thinking to which Kamala "Heels Up" Harris has in mind. The illegal invasion by the ILLEGALS into our country is one that Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas refuses to acknowledge.
Protect America.

The Feds have become too big and too powerful. Time to cut them down to size.

Texas is not interfering with federal enforcement. The Biden administration is not enforcing the law, in complete and total violation of the law. Get out of Texas!

#1 is correct. Also, if the U.S. Government is screaming about the pretend pandemic (spreading), the illegals are loaded with this virus. The Governors have the right to throw them out. If anyone is spreading this virus, it's our Government. All we need is for TX, AZ and CA to unite and keep the illegals out.

So the Feds will not protect our borders, which is their #1 job (or law), but we are supposed to obey the laws they want obeyed. Why not obey ALL the laws. (I know the answer, just wanted to point out the obvious).

Didn't Biden, Harris, Garland, and everyone else in the Biden administration take an oath of office to uphold the Constitution and laws of the US? All of the laws, not just the ones they like.

It’s time to remind Mr. Garland that the people coming into our country are here illegally and that HE is the one not enforcing the law because he is doing absolutely nothing to stop the invasion. To the contrary he and the biteme administration are encouraging lawbreaking.

What is the percentage of these diseased ignorant illegal clowns, gangs members and drug dealers do you think will come out of the shadows once here to vote or register to vote? Not many the democrats are stupid to believe they can turn off American citizen votes and replace them with hoards of illegals. All this is, is packing the system to overload nothing we can do for now except feeble attempts by border states to slow it down for the moment. Fraud Biden and his DOJ are blowing smoke and winging it with law suits and made up immigration laws on the fly. Ignore the AG and flip the imbecile off.

Garlic man, you are on the wrong side of this one, pal. Just get off of Abbott's back. Right now, he has bigger fish to fry while he holds the Texas dim legislators' feet to the fire while they enjoy sunny Florida with no salary or benefits.

Please, Texas: Show this moron what state sovereignty means.
Hopefully, other states (maybe TN) will follow your example.

It's a Washington DC mindset...THEY think they own everything and rule everyone... well folks... our founding fathers made sure the "government" didn't own everything... and Texas is just the state to take garland to the woodshed...a major break with Washington is coming... and let's see if biden can muster enough military strength to open all the border areas when they can see that it's dangerous for their country....our military is not mind/numb robots... they love their country....

It would be an interesting conundrum for the Supreme Court. The Biden Administration would argue that they must be permitted to continue their incompetent, illegal and dangerous policies on the border with no interference from the people most effected. The Court must be willing to heartily agree. I hope Abbot ignores their empty threats and carrrys on with or without a SC decision.

Blah, blah, blah. In the meantime the border is still open. How many in your jail for trespassing or vandalism, Governor?
How long you gonna inconvenience them? In Texas criminal trespass is normally a Class B misdemeanor with a fine up to $2,000 and a jail term up to 180 days. To charge a trespasser the land must be posted and the owner making a complaint to authorities. Human trafficking requires the victim's non-agreement with transport...hard to prove when they're paying for the crossing and ride.

Governor is protecting his citizens from crime and disease. We know nothing about these people invading our country and don't know their motives for wanting to break our laws to come here. Garland, easy for you to sit in DC in your protected office and tell Texans they have to put up with child molesters, criminals, drug dealers and infected people with God knows what diseases.

Get it to court, primarily the USSC, where the Biden administration can explain their willful violation of the Constitution's Article II Sec 3 Take Care clause - “take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed.” Congress has not changed immigration law but Biden is willfully setting the law aside in lieu of his party's progressive vision to transform the US extra-constitutionally. While discretion is afforded the Executive Branch in enforcing the laws, ignoring the laws is not discretionary.

What D.C, is doing to Texas goes for the whole country. Talking points from the old GOP playbook, empty threats will not win the victory and THANK GOD Governor Abbott is acting not blabbing only!
GO GO GO. Fight!! We are with you Gov Abbott. Time for all Texas Republicans who we have honored with our vote for Senator ir Congressperson to publicly unite in a presser standing behind Abbott 100%.

I think all of the red states, receiving busloads of infected illegals, should put them right back on the buses and send them to blue states.

AFAIK, this Fed overreach has been about powers exclusively belonging to the states under the Constitution:
state election laws, police powers, health and welfare of the state's citizenry in the face of lethal superspreaders
unleashed by .... unsupportable fed policies.
All their fol-de-rol and fiddle dee dee about race may be a self-delusional device :
to convince themselves they;re Honest Abe Lincoln's standard bearers......
in the civil war of race they're so desperate to manufacture.
