The Delta variant is much more contagious, more likely to break through protections afforded by the vaccines and may cause more severe disease than all other known versions of the virus, according to an internal presentation circulated within the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Dr. Rochelle P. Walensky, the director of the agency, acknowledged on Tuesday that vaccinated people with so-called breakthrough infections of the Delta variant carry just as much virus in the nose and throat as unvaccinated people, and may spread it just as readily, if less often.

My big concern about these government-backed alarmists is the number of simpletons in this country who hang on every word, true or false, with no critical thinking whatsoever. Just look at the too-many maskers you see outdoors. B-a-a-a-a

How does this affect the 50% of the population with natural innate immunity? What about the large percent of the population who have already been infected with SARS-COV-2 and never had any detectable symptoms? And what about all the people who had symptomatic COVID-19 and recovered? Who remains that should be cowering in their bedroom corner? Even the fearing ones can get some protection from the gene therapy shot. That leaves a vanishingly small percent of the population who can be in danger of the new, new coronavirus.
I'm not concerned. Nobody I know is. They are running out of sky to fall.

I don’t want to be over confident but I figure if we haven’t caught something by now, we might be part of the immune herd. I’ve only worn a mask a few times and I’ve been around quite a few infected people

OK fine. And prior to the chickenpox vaccine we all had chickenpox parties. It was a parental duty to ensure we got chickenpox while we were young, to develop immunity before we grew up, since it was a far more serious disease for adults. Sounds familiar?

I just saw four Child bearing age women who are healthcare workers and who are are against taking the vaccine. This made me recall the effects of the drug Thalidomide from the 1950's and how babies of women who took it were born deformed. That drug originated from Germany and was distributed worldwide. How do we know the long range effects the Covid Vaccine will have on future young mothers and their babies who take this drug. Maybe Rochelle Walensky should try to educate herself instead of being Biden a puppet with her histrionics.

#15 I agree with your concern. I am anxious about various statistics: miscarriage rates, birth defect rates and is there a commonality in those defects from a mother and/or father who has been vaccinated.
#17 Yes, there is a real vaccine for Chicken Pox. Prior to that, as previous stated, you didn't protect your child from exposure. They got it when young, got sick and got over it. An adult with Chicken Pox would be very very ill.
I think the Delta Variant is on par with CP. I've been vaccinated. Those who have not have made a conscious, deliberate decision to not be and are willing to live or die with the consequences of their decision. That said, the one person I know of that has had Covid in the past 2 months had been vaccinated; not sure if she had the Delta Variant. She has multiple co morbidities and was hospitalized. She had an uneventful course of admission and is now at home close to her level of function prior to admission.

This Delta variant seems to be contagious but not dangerous. Funny how this puppet administration is constantly trying to find new reasons for masks and isolation. It is past time for the country to hold a nationwide mask burning. After eighteen months of government fear mongering, poisoning our genes with a phoney vaccines that seem to be causing more trouble, I think we have all had it with government mandates and policy flip flops. Let us MAGAAgain.

To #15's point, both my daughters and my daughter-in-law are of child bearing age and have the same concerns. Also, my daughter-in-law already had Covid, so she sees all risk/no benefit to the vaccine for herself. That the government refuses to even acknowledge natural immunity just adds to the mistrust.

Or the “Delta variant” is vaccinated people’s bodies having extreme immune system overreactions to exposure to something else!

When my daughter was 4 years old, our next door neighbors’ kids all got Chickenpox. We took her over to play with them thinking that it would be better to get it over with before she reached child-bearing age. This was long before there was a vaccine. She never got it. And I STILL don’t know a single person who has had covid in any variation.
Amen, #1!

Promoted way beyond her level of competency. Life is not risk free. We must balance the possible danger of contracting the virus with the known danger of social isolation and breathing in copious quantities of CO2. I see no evidence that the current fools running the biteme administration understand this. As for me, I’ll weigh pro and con and make my decision accordingly. In the meantime, leave me the he** alone.

As a USAF medic, I saw one case of adult Chicken Pox, 1962, Donaldson AFB, S.C.
The patient came in to the ER at about 5 PM, was given calomine lotion and sent home, returned at about 10 PM, having trouble breathing, died at midnight.
I never forgot that, and had my two sons participate in a chicken pox sleepover party a few years later.
I suspect that the chicken pox/kung flu comparison is accurate to the extent that Kung Flu, like chicken pox, is not severe in children.

B b b but my doctor told me my natural immunity isn’t enough. I’d have to get the jab to protect against the Delta variation, and now they say the vaccine won’t help. Good thing I realized my Dr is full of BS. I wonder how many points he gets for browbeating, bamboozling, bullying, and BSing his patients.

It looks like we are done with Alpha, Betta and Gamma. Now Delta equals Chickenpox. Then we will go to Epsilon that probably will give you Epilepsy. Then Zeta maybe the measles? Eta Malaria? Theta Ebola? Iota Leprosy? The possibilities are endless. By the time we get to Omega I don't know if anybody will be alive on Planet Earth. Beam me up Scottie.

When I was a little kid I was forced into a line and forced to listen as my friends in line ahead of me were inoculated against small pox. Oh, the tears, and the screams and the nasty round scar on my left shoulder. Those were the days. Ironically, given what we know today from well informed government spokes flacks, that vaccine did not make us shed small pox in great numbers to the unvaccinated. Nope. Those of us vaccinated did not suddenly develop small pox (magically or otherwise) from unvaccinated kids and adults. This covid jab is not a vaccine, it is a prayer from socialists to their non-god that they retain power in 2022. Simple as that.

Actual doctors I read, in several sources saying while it has higher infection rates it is less deadly.
Even in this article, the chart shows it is almost the same when it comes to being deadly.

The immune system can handle many bacteria and viruses. Very few people understand just how effective it is. The story-tellers in the media don't mention this fact because it would ruin their fear narrative.
