At least two Republican-led states are now considering banning Ben & Jerry’s ice cream after the company announced on Monday that it would no longer sell its ice cream in “occupied Palestinian territory.” Both Texas and Florida officials have come out against Ben & Jerry’s, threatening to invoke state laws to punish companies that advocate or act to boycott, divest, or sanction Israel. America’s strongest ally has decried the ice cream giant’s move as anti-Israel and antisemitic. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Texas State Comptroller Glenn Hegar are threatening to add Ben & Jerry’s and its parent company, Unilever, to a blacklist of organizations that boycott Israel.

They have been banned in our house for roughly 40 years or so. When I first found out they were rabid leftists, on my "lifetime ban" list. Never missed them at all. Lots of great ice cream out there without those pukes.

So a guy goes to a grocery store and fills his grocery cart with all the Ben & Jerry’s ice cream that he can fit in the cart and then walks around and around and around and around until he decides; “you know what? I don’t need all this ice cream”. And then the guy puts all the ice cream back in the freezer. If the guy was a jerk, he would just leave the cart filled with ice cream to melt, but that would be wrong…….I think.

Not a bad idea, #6, buy I suspect that B&J wouldn't be bothered at all. That ice cream is owned by the grocery store at that point, I am pretty sure.

I don't buy Ben and Jerry's ice cream simply because they are basically communists. However, it seems to me not selling ice cream in certain areas of the world only hurts their bottom line, so I'm ok with that.

If Texas did this, it would be barely a blip in B&J sales - nobody in Texas (Austin is not in Texas anymore) buys B&J anyway. If you want high-quality, great tasting ice cream in the Lone Star State, you be buying Blue Bell. The best ice cream made by the best people in the world! That would be the Kruze family.

As much as B&J/UNILEVER are deserving of banishment, there may be some Constitutional issues involved, given it's interstate commerce. I don't know on what basis this could be done...certainly not on the basis of what would be construed as "speech" by an "originalist" SCOTUS.

Similarly to #15, long ago I tried B&J's Cherry Garcia ice cream because I was and am a fan of the Grateful Dead. (My favorite album is probably Workingman's Dead ... or American Beauty, or Skull and Roses, or Live Dead, or Blues for Allah..., aw heck, I like all their albums.) The ice cream was good, but not as good as the band. Ben & Jerry are unfriendly to capitalism--almost unbelievably so--I'd rather buy some other brand.

Six of them in all, quite a start Sunday for the Americans in the post-Michael Phelps era. “I’m happy to be here and kick the U.S. off,” said Kalisz, who won the 400-meter individual medley. There was room for others to shine, as well. Host Japan won a swimming gold, Tunisia claimed a surprising spot atop the medal podium, and the mighty Australian women set the first world record of the competition in the 4×100 freestyle relay.

The man then made a quick motion to put the gun into an imaginary holster under his shoulder when the gun went off and a bullet struck his torso, the outlet reported. “I don’t know if he was pretending to be a badass or something,”
