A man showing off his new gun to patrons in a Florida bar ended up shooting himself with the weapon instead, according to reports. The unidentified knucklehead was inside O’Riley’s Uptown Tavern in Pensacola at 11 p.m. Thursday when he pulled out the gun to show it to a man and a woman at the bar, the Pensacola News Journal reported Friday. The man then made a quick motion to put the gun into an imaginary holster under his shoulder when the gun went off and a bullet struck his torso, the outlet reported. “I don’t know if he was pretending to be a badass or something,”

Fire-rescue teams that have been working at the site of the Surfside condo collapse for nearly a month straight will hand off the search for survivors to police, Miami-Dade County announced Friday, according to reports.
The search for bodies at the site of the collapsed condo officially concluded on Friday. The collapse killed 97, with at least one more missing person yet to be identified.
With the rubble having been moved offsite, police will now take over the search for remains and belongings, the Miami Herald reported.

After nearly giving up on love, Dina Huxley’s life was falling into place.

Former California Senator Barbara Boxer was assaulted and robbed in Oakland’ Jack London Square neighborhood on Monday.
Boxer, 80, was pushed in her back and the assailant stole her cell phone then took off in a getaway car.
