Chesa Boudin's free pass for
shoplifters drives San Francisco store

San Francisco is famous for its tech trend-setting, but here's a different kind of trend-setting now that it's got a leftist prosecutor who won't do his job: Shopping from behind locked glass-case barriers. Not just some goods, but now, all the goods.. Here's what appears to be a citizen video, from someone trying to get the attention of the local press, of the Safeway supermarket at Church and Market in an area between the Mission district and the Castro district. (Snip for tweet) Obviously, this is an attempt to thwart shoplifters, given the retail theft free-for-all going on in that city. The problem didn't just crop up out

Comments:

Putting the goods instead of the criminals, in jail.

Is it like this in every aisle or just that one? Because stores have been putting health & beauty items behind glass for years in high crime areas.

Might I suggest double doors with roll down cage steel bars? WHEN the Lefty Mob shows up wait until they are inside, then lock the outside doors...when they try to get out, lock the second set of doors behind them. Then tell the cops you are gonna follow their prosecution to the end!

San Franciscans voted for this mess, they should have to live with it. Even a circus pin-head could see that nothing good would come from electing a D.A. born of two convicted felons (Kathy Boudin and David Gilbert), reared by two unrepentant leaders of the terrorist Weather Underground (Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn), and an admirer of Hugo Chavez.

My niece talked to a retired couple who moved from San Francisco to a small town in Kentucky (2,500) people. They sold everything and bought a nice house. They told her that high crime, high taxes and constantly being "told what to do" did them in. They are happy here and are NOT going to vote Democratic.

Stores will have to triple the number of employees to follow customers around to unlock each item needed or have a waiting area until an employee is available to help each customer much like waiting for a prescription. Secondly, once the thieves figure out the system, what's to keep them from bolting once they have items in their basket? The problem is lack of prosecution.

LOL #17. Years ago before my time, there were not self-service grocery stores. You gave a clerk a list of what you wanted and walked to the back and got what you wanted. Once phones became common the stores also started delivering. I can still remember my grandmother phoning in her grocery list and in less than an hour, a guy in a pickup brought her order. Maybe that's where we are headed again. I did notice one of our Walmarts has small stuff like razors locked up or packaged in bulky anti-theft cases. The clerk told me that people stole them to sell at flea markets. This in a small, mostly low-crime city in Georgia.

President Biden’s troubled son Hunter did not mince words in responding to critics of the stunning prices that his paintings have been fetching. On the “Nota Bene: This Week in the Art World” podcast, the issue came up when the host began “You seem to have good spirits around the crazed narrative around your paintings. How do you- what’s the response to the people who are coming after the prices of the work, the collectors, what is your response to that?” Biden responded to the favorably phrased question angrily, “Other than f***’em?” he shot back. Biden’s paintings have been selling for as much as $500,000, the 51-year-old man

Is the Joe Biden administration serious about COVID? Doesn't look like it. Fox News, citing a local incident in La Joya, Texas, found that the Border Patrol is releasing COVID-infected illegals into Texas communities to spread the disease. That's a curious thing given that Biden drew headlines for supposedly keeping Title 42 in place, which would require the Border Patrol to instantly expel migrants based on COVID concerns. Based on this kind of news, the order is de facto rescinded whether Biden says so or not. In this Texas case, illegal migrants had been let in and then handed over to the NGO Catholic Charities in La Joya, Texas, which
