A shooting occurred outside the third base gate at Nationals Park as the Nationals hosted the Padres Saturday night, causing panic and confusion before the team evacuated fans and postponed the game. Shortly after the reports surfaced, Washington D.C. police announced three people were shot outside of the stadium, however, there was no longer a threat present. Play was suspended in the middle of the sixth inning with San Diego leading, 8–4, after gunshots were heard. Some fans panicked and attempted to flee the stadium. Padres star Fernando Tatis Jr. and others with family members in attendance rushed into the stands

I could say 'Looks like the gun control laws are working' sarcastically. And I think I will. One internet moron actually claimed that Jan 6 would have been an armed conflict but DC's gun laws prevented the protesters from tooling up. I wonder what she thinks of this incident by her own kind? But, as usual, leftists get to have it both ways. If you point out that their precious gun laws aren't working when a crisis occurs, they get angry about your timing.

You all know the stadium is in SE, right? It's across the river and a lot of expansion has been going on in the area, but it's still SE. SE is being "gentrified" and was being heavily policed. They pushed the old criminal enterprises into Maryland, but the transformation of SE is far from complete. Now that lawlessness reigns under Veggie Joe, SE is the first to go. I have a daughter who lives there, so I appreciate your prayers. She's leftist, but she's wanted to leave the city for some time now.

Project Veritas published a video featuring a packaging engineer from Hasbro, one of the country’s largest toymakers. It contained some wild claims and cast white children as inherently racist. David Johnson shared internal Hasbro training materials based on critical race theory. The training was mandatory for all employees. The trainers discussed how Hasbro could use product development to infuse anti-racist messages into toys. According to the website of “The Conscious Kid,” the organization that provided the training: We are an education, research, and policy organization dedicated to equity and promoting healthy racial identity development in youth. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis traveled to the Texas border to receive a security briefing with Governor Abbott on Saturday. In June, DeSantis responded to a plea issued from Abbott and Arizona Governor Ducey to all fifty governors – help border states secure the southern border. Some governors responded with pledges of sending National Guardsmen and law enforcement to work with agencies on the ground. DeSantis answered, “Florida has your back.” According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), Florida sent 58 personnel as well as a plane and five shallow water boats.

It seems the Biden administration will listen to the public when the rejection of their ideas is clear and loud. On April 19, 2021, the Department of Education (DOE) proposed a new regulation to promote culturally responsive teaching and information literacy skills under the American History and Civics Education programs. Under the first priority, the DOE proposal would give preference to grant applications for a curriculum that incorporates ideas laden with critical theories (emphasis added): American History and Civics Education programs can play an important role in this critical effort by supporting teaching and learning that reflects the breadth and depth of our Nation’s diverse

I think we can officially call the runaway Texas Democrats flight to Washington, D.C., a “super spreader” now. They announced on Saturday that three people had testing positive for the Wuhan coronavirus. Then today, it was announced from the Texas House Democratic Caucus that two more have now tested positive, including Trey Martinez Fischer, who represents San Antonio’s 116th District. So that’s five total of the group, so far. The only other person of the five identified at this point has been Celia Israel of Austin, who said she was having mild symptoms of the virus. The rest of the five similarly were described as having no or only mild symptoms.

Top 2 Republicans Say It Can.” The paper is running versions of this same story every week now, often on the front page, leading NewsBusters to make the same observation: Is there any room left “on the right” for Texas to move by now, since the state has supposedly been heading that way since at least 2009?

We reported previously on the irony that hit the runaway Texas Democrats. The Democratic lawmakers fled to D.C. to avoid having a quorum to be able to vote on an election security bill in Texas. They’ve been spreading a blatant lie that the bill is denying people voting rights when, in fact, it doesn’t deprive one person of the ability to vote. But now, three of them have tested positive for the Wuhan coronavirus. This was after they took a bus, then a charter flight to D.C. and had been all around D.C., even meeting with people like Kamala Harris and Joe Manchin. Sounds like they were a super-spreader group.

Vaccine hesitancy is a big problem, according to the Biden administration. Less than half the public is fully vaccinated while about 56 percent have received at least one jab. The goal of fully vaccinating the American public appears to have stalled. This should not surprise us. When the vaccines were first approved for emergency use back in December 2020, 40 percent of Americans expressed skepticism about the vaccine. Trying to shame the holdouts has failed spectacularly. Insulting and degrading them as “morons” or “ignorant” has resulted in a vicious pushback and a hardening of positions on getting vaccinated.

Three Democratic members of the Texas House of Representatives have tested positive for the coronavirus, according to the Texas House Democratic Caucus. The three lawmakers are among House Democrats who fled to Washington, D.C., earlier this week to stave off GOP priority voting bills during the special legislative session. The three members who tested positive all have been fully vaccinated, which helps protect against severe illness. On Friday night, one member tested positive for the coronavirus and immediately alerted colleagues, who, in addition to staff members, took rapid tests. On Saturday morning, two additional members tested positive after taking rapid tests. The cases were first reported by the Austin American-Statesman.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki started a hullabaloo yesterday by admitting that they had been in “frequent contact” with Facebook to “flag misinformation” to get Facebook to take down information about the Wuhan coronavirus that they considered “misinformation” and to ban users. Today, she doubled down on that and said that people banned on one platform should be banned on all platforms, an especially troubling thing to say when the government is in constant contact with social media to flag and ban people. Then Joe Biden made an insane comment on his way to his helicopter at the the White House that Facebook was “killing people.”

A federal judge issued an injunction on Friday ordering the Biden administration to cease accepting applications to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. The program, initially established in 2012 under the Obama administration, allows illegal immigrants brought to the U.S. as children to defer deportation for two years and to renew the deferral, as well as to receive work permits. DACA recipients are not granted a path to citizenship. The Department of Homeland Security “violated the [Administrative Procedure Act] with the creation of DACA and its continued operation,” Judge Andrew Hanen of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas wrote in a ruling on Friday.

House Democrats are trying to use a massive climate and infrastructure bill to change how Americans get around — by breaking states’ decades-old fondness for building highways. Legislation the House passed this month is the biggest advance yet in Democrats' efforts to bake climate policies into transportation, addressing the largest single contributor to the United States’ greenhouse gas output. It would also represent an historic shift away from the roads-first approach to federal transportation spending that has reigned since Dwight Eisenhower created the Interstate Highway System. But the bill is riling up opposition from two potential allies of the Democrats'
