A municipal judge in New Jersey’s Roselle Park borough is facing condemnation and scorn for effectively violating a Trump supporter’s First Amendment rights because of a complaint reportedly made by the borough’s Democrat Party mayor. That Trump supporter, Andrea Dick, has been displaying a slew of pro-Trump and profanely anti-Biden signs on the fence outside her mother’s home.Or rather, she had been, up until Roselle Park Municipal Court Judge Gary Bundy issued a ruling last Thursday ordering her mother, Patricia Dilascio, to remove the signs containing profanity within a week or face a $250/day fine.

She has lots of anti-Biden signs up. She was only ordered to take down the profanity. The city has an anti-obscenity ordinance. Lots of cities do. This isn't really a free speech issue. The First Amendment has never protected obscenity. The issue is whether our society and language have devolved to the point that the F-word is no longer considered profane/obscene.

Agree with #14. Everyone here should hold steady and stick to your principles. Whether or not the judge is right, we all know that profane signs (and “f***” although more common in usage is still unacceptable in polite company) is wrong. There are wittier ways to express the same thoughts as several posters here have demonstrated. Respect for others should be our motto and classless behavior reveals contempt crudely.

Biden’s CNN townhall dumpster

President Joe Biden spoke to a half-empty auditorium in Ohio on Wednesday for a CNN town hall where he leered over and flirted with a newlywed bride and incoherently rambled on about “a man on the moon” and “aliens” in connection to getting vaccinated against COVID-19. Don Lemon was the host and ironically referred to the president as “the big guy” at the town hall. Biden stammered through most of the event and had a problem finishing sentences once again. The third question during the town hall came from a newlywed couple who asked about getting vaccinations in their community and it quickly turned awkward.
