The Dreaded Misery Index
Is On The Rise Under Biden

Original Article

Young adults today are likely unfamiliar with the term “misery index.” But they could soon learn about it the hard way, thanks to President Joe Biden’s economic incompetence. The misery index, a measure started under President Lyndon Johnson, is a simple measure combining the unemployment rate and the inflation rate. The idea being that joblessness and a fast-rising cost of living produces palpable misery in the country. The index has long been forgotten because it’s been so low for so long.

A better misery index would be the number of Demmunists occupying leadership positions. The more there are, the more miserable the country becomes. Works 100% of the time.

My misery index pegged the night of the election when I turned to my other half and stated that they are going to steal this election in broad daylight, and nothing will stop it. Nothing that has happened since has surprised me. In fact, I fully expect things to get much much worse.

This is only the beginning. The biden handlers keep saying it isn't so bad, won't last that long, it will work itself out. It is going to get so much worse. Paying for gas and food will stress most households leaving almost nothing left over. The 70's were awful.

Wait until we're paying 20% interest on our $30T debt. Bye bye SS, Medicare, Medicaid and the military. Your taxes? They'll all go to servicing our debt. And if other countries decide to drop their exchange currency (the dollar - for, e.g. the Yuan or bitcoin), guess where those dollars will come flooding back to? If you think $3 per gallon gas is expensive now wait until it's $15 or $20 per gallon.

We imagine tens of millions of Americans want to clean up after a day at work struggling to earn enough to keep up with the Biden inflation. But a quick shower under a healthy stream is another luxury the White House wants to take away from Americans. The current administration announced last week that it intends to force low-flow showerheads on the country that popularized showering, overriding an effort by the Trump administration to give consumers more options and reining in a government that believes it has no boundaries.

As TV screens showed the Dow Jones tumbling on inflation and renewed COVID fears, President Joe Biden took to the podium Monday to brag about how great the economy is doing and why he deserves all the credit. It was a remarkable act of prestidigitation for such an old man. Biden said that “it’s true that the economy was sputtering before I got here.” That’s provably false. He said that: “We’ve gone from 60,000 jobs per month to … more than 600,000 jobs per month since I took office.” That’s grossly misleading.

Everywhere you turn in the media these days, the term “woke” is invoked as a kind of new ideal for “progressive” changes sought by the left in America. But in the latest I&I/TIPP Poll, nearly a third of those responded negatively to the woke trend, including a surprisingly large number of minority and Democratic respondents. The I&I/TIPP poll was conducted by TechnoMetrica Market Intelligence online from June 30 through July 2, and includes responses from 1,424 adults, for a margin of error of +/- 2.8 points. The poll is part of a new ongoing collaboration between Issues & Insights and TIPP

The entire climate change movement has been shady from its beginnings. Data have been hidden, truth has been sacrificed to politics, and hypocrisy and personal interests among its “leaders” have produced a giant credibility deficit. President Joe Biden’s disreputable, drug-addled son Hunter recently decided to sell his “art,” which sparked a round of hand-wringing over the ethical implications. Hunter, you see, has no experience as an artist. And, based on the paintings we’ve seen, he has no discernible talent. But Hunter’s “artwork” will be sold at “a private and confidential opening” in Los Angeles, with the various pieces said to be priced between $75,000 and $500,000. This is Clinton Foundation-style corruption all over again, without the pretense of a charity.

Like an unwatched pot suddenly violently boiling over, Havana and other cities have erupted in defiant protests by Cubans fed up with living in their perpetually depressed tropical police state. True to form, the Castroite regime has already reflexively cracked down on the protests with brutality. Cubans weary of being treated like animals without rights took to the streets, shouting “Freedom!” “Down with the dictatorship,” and, most pointedly, “Down with communism!” In some cases, protesters carried American flags..

When hammer thrower Gwen Berry decided to protest the national anthem at an Olympic trials event last month, she raised the prospect that athletes will try to use the Tokyo Olympics to disparage their own nation. If they do so, they will get precious little support at home. The latest I&I/TIPP poll finds that the public overwhelmingly rejects athletes showing disrespect for the American flag at international games. The poll found that 79% of the public say it’s important “for professional athletes to publicly respect the American flag on the international level,” with 60% saying it is “very important.” Just 16% of the adults surveyed think it’s not important.

A country of roughly 330 million has more than 9 million job openings, and 9.5 million unemployed. This is a disgrace, a clear indication that our American character and work ethic are slipping, a rolling tragedy that’s been authored by the Democrats. Three years ago, before Democrat Joe Biden was the president, while the Republicans still held a majority in the Senate, The Saturday Evening Post wondered if “the American work ethic (has) gotten worse.” “Have Americans lost their willingness to apply their noses to the grindstone, or to work hard for anything they get in life?” The venerable publication concluded “that’s not what statistics show.” Today’s data, however, tell a different story

There should be repercussions for such cravenness. After spending the better part of the year talking up a “defund the police” agenda, Democrats are now trying to claim that it’s Republicans who want to strip the police of their resources. President Biden argued that a massive influx of government spending bill will help fend off inflation, in a speech on the state of the economy at the White House on Monday. The White House has dubbed the $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer plans to bring to the floor this week — and the $3.5 trillion budget resolution that Democrats plan to pass in the coming days without Republican support — the “Build Back Better” package. Biden said Monday that the two bills will help prevent, rather than exacerbate, runaway inflation.
