Like an unwatched pot suddenly violently boiling over, Havana and other cities have erupted in defiant protests by Cubans fed up with living in their perpetually depressed tropical police state. True to form, the Castroite regime has already reflexively cracked down on the protests with brutality.
Cubans weary of being treated like animals without rights took to the streets, shouting “Freedom!” “Down with the dictatorship,” and, most pointedly, “Down with communism!” In some cases, protesters carried American flags..

Death is the ultimate means of defiance against a brutal communist regime whose only legitimacy is by force. There is a point where even the most repressive tyranny must give way to a people that literally have nothing to lose but their miserable lives. Remember Nicolae Ceaușescu.

A caution: There is something very suspicious going on in the Caribbean. The assassination of the Haitian president has, for no discernible reason, caused our corrupt intelligence and military communities to flood in there to help with "security." What are they trying to cover up? Next thing we know, there are "pro-freedom" marches is Cuba. Are Cuban rent-a-mobs, once again, trying to entice and flush out dissenters? Are these two events connected and are our corruptocrats meddling again? Did we ever stop meddling? Where has Hunter Biden been lately?

There is one flaw in this article which I noticed right away. The article says, "Cubans don’t have a 'right to peaceful assembly,'” This statement is a misunderstanding of the rights listed in the Bill of Rights. The First Amendment says "Congress shall make no law...abridging the right of the people to peacefully assemble," The right exists whether or not the Constitution recognizes it. The fact that the Cuban government refuses to respect that right does not mean that the Cuban people do not have it.

The Cuban people are waving the US flag to protest tyranny. Little do they realize that if you that in the US you will be listed as a domestic terrorist and thrown in jail without bail or trial.

I grew up in Florida and remember the Missiles of October fiasco when we had weekly air raid drills at school and every child was required to have a box with food, water, blanket and sterno stored at the school. We had the threat of a nuclear attack hanging over our heads every minute of every day. We were told that a missile launched from Cuba would take less than 3 minutes to hit our northwest Florida city and I worried constantly that the attack would come when I was at school and I would die without being with my parents. The snowflakes of today would never have been able to deal with something like that. I also remember when the first wave of Cubans managed to escape and our school suddenly had a Spanish teacher who had just arrived in the country.
Pray for the people of Cuba and pray that their courages sweeps over to our country!

I remember it well #5. I still think of that time every once in a while. I just wanted to go home each time we had a drill.

Ironic that people in Communist countries wave the American flag and people in America burn it.

Thanks that make you go Hmmmmmmm. Every time we point out that Communism and Socialism fail wherever it's tried, the usual windbags like Bernie and AOC and Cornell and the rest always spout the party line: 'Oh, well, that's because it's never been implemented properly.' Oh, so in the history of Man, there is no one intelligent enough to properly implement your socialist utopia but our little American experiment, that you fervently want to destroy, has lasted prosperously for almost 250 years? Doesn't say much for socialism or the idiots who think that THEY are the ones who will somehow be able to properly usher in Utopia, now does it?

Communism is a disaster. It fails every time it is tried. I agree, let's hope Cuba falls, and let's hope Biden supports the protesters.

The overthrow of a communist regime is not an easy task and when our government is hesitant to be critical of a communist dictatorship, that task can be even harder. The US should be assisting the overthrow by any means possible short of direct military action. I really doubt if the Biden regime is doing that.

The Marxists are willing to sacrifice Cuba for a bigger prize.....The U.S.......CRT has dropped off the radar screen because of Cuba.....but inculcating CRT into young students would turn the U.S. Marxist and that is what is happening.......Don't be distracted!!

If Cuba’s Marxists want to remain in power they should announce that a national election will be held in November to determine the direction of the country. To ensure an honest election, the government would purchase the Dominion voting system, print millions of mail in ballots and hire senior Democrat election officials from Philly, Atlanta, Detroit and Phoenix to oversee the results. Doing this will allow Biden, Pelosi and all their Dem ilk to praise the Island’s communists because the Democrats could never fault the Cubans from using the same corrupt election practices they used last November. Key to avoiding this obvious election fraud would to keep Cuba’s current dictator from receiving 81.5 million votes like Biden.
Seriously, one hopes that the Cuban people overthrow the communists and allow the return of the tens of thousands of business people and professionals who fled over the last 62:years. Unfortunately, the children and grandchildren of those who fled are both Americans and rightfully fearful of another revolution.

The history of Cuba indicates slim chances for "democracy" there. It has virtually always been governed by a despot, benevolent or not. Its economy is a shambles, largely dependent on commodities not highly valued bought by allies at inflated prices. Venezuela can't afford that anymore. What the US needs to do is ensure it's our SOB, not China's, installed as Presidente. The rest will follow.

In 1989 in Romania, once an unarmed populace earned the support of heavily armed government military forces, it was all over for Nicolae Ceaușescu and his wife. Time will tell if Cuba's dictator and the rest of the Castro family meet the same fate and Cuba's socialist/communist utopia collapses.
