President Biden was met at O’Hare International Airport Wednesday by Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot following a deadly Independence Day weekend in the Windy City. The president was greeted by Lightfoot and Illinois’ Democratic Gov. J.B. Pritzker as he arrived in Chicago but he didn’t focus much time on the more than 100 shootings over the holiday as it was just a quick stop for him en route to suburban McHenry County for an event touting his Build Back Better initiative. According to White House press secretary Jen Psaki, Biden reiterated his commitment to working with Lightfoot and city leaders to counter gun violence

Comments:

It's not "gun violence", it's gang violence that is destroying Chicago.

Trump offered federal troops, the FBI, Border Patrol, and others - all of which were declined, and then this incompetent carpetbagger has the audacity to blame the continuing violence on 4 years of inaction by the White House.

The only thing which Xiden could do will never be done - turn off the welfare spigot and force all of the gangbangers to get jobs in order to survive. Then they’d be too tired to be out shooting at 2am and might just earn a bit of self respect.

Dear Ms Beetlejuice, The violence in your city is gang related turf wars over the distribution of illegal narcotics. You are unable to prevent those drugs from infiltrating your city; What makes you believe you can prevent the tools of the gang's trade from entering as well? You know the truth but you are another dim gun grabber using that excuse to disarm the law abiding who only wish to use their God given Constitutional right to defend themselves. Czech out

Biden is not going to do anything to rile up leftist and socialist Democrat Black ghetto voters, except claim that all the so-called gun violence in the Democrat run inner-cities is being perpetrated by mythical “White Supremacists” and the way to handle that is to confiscate firearms from “White Supremacists” who reside in places like Idaho and Montana!
