Democrats failed to get the For The People Act through a Senate test vote on Tuesday after every single Republican voted against the bill that has been called a 'power grab' and a bid to orchestrate the 'federal takeover of elections'. All 50 Democrats voted in favor, including key swings Sens. Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema. And all 50 Republicans voted against beginning debate on a revised 'For the People Act.' 'Today every single Democratic senator stood together in the fight to protect the right to vote in America,' Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said after the vote, also vowing to explore 'every last one of our options.'

It’s neck – and neck – and neck! New Yorkers streamed to the voting booths on Tuesday to cast their ballots in the Big Apple’s hotly contested Democratic mayoral primary — and while it will be a couple of weeks before a winner can be declared, early results showed a three-way race. The first round of the Democratic mayoral primary had Eric Adams (69,000 votes), Kathryn Garcia (54,593 votes) and Maya Wiley (48,822 votes) — with just six percentage points separating all three of the candidates, early returns from the Board of Elections show. Adams, the Brooklyn borough president, had 29 percent of the 183,000 ballots cast

The meal was intended as an internal celebration for store workers, not for customers. A spokesperson for Ikea told FOX Business that to

It’s over, and we are thankful. It was a 50-50 procedural vote along party lines, but H.R. 1/S.1, the supposed “For the People Act” has been blocked by Senate Republicans. Sixty votes were needed in order to open debate on this legislation before entering into a vote on the actual bill. Because the Republicans were able to successfully filibuster, that 60 vote threshold was not met. The legislation is now dead on the Senate floor.(Tweet/Video) Any way you slice it, if H.R. 1/S.1 had passed, it would have been a wholesale takeover of elections by Federal fiat. Remember Christopher Steele? The author of the infamous 2016 “dossier” was an impeccably credentialed former British intelligence officer who, we were assured, had the goods on Donald Trump’s ties to Russia. Nearly every major news and opinion outlet vouched for his reputation and reliable sources inside the Kremlin.Steele frequently was described as an “ex-spy” in charge of a well-respected global consulting firm in London; he was alternatively a victim of Trump’s public taunts and a hero willing to risk his life and reputation to spare America the election of a Putin puppet.Steele’s work was validated not only by the news media and Democratic politicians who described the dossier as “raw intelligence”

The White House on Tuesday acknowledged it will not meet its goal of having 70 percent of all American adults receive at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine by July 4, a rare setback for a president who has put the nation’s recovery from the pandemic at the center of his agenda.
It will be the second time the administration will miss a goal related to the pandemic — in part because it has repeatedly set objectives that are deliverable. Officials also indicated Monday that President Biden is likely to miss his target of shipping 80 million vaccines overseas by the end of the month, blaming it on logistical challenges.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — American authorities took down a range of Iran’s state-linked news websites under unclear circumstances on Tuesday, the U.S. and Iran said, a move that appeared to be a far-reaching crackdown on Iranian media amid heightened tensions between the two countries.
The U.S. seized roughly three dozen websites, the majority of which are linked to Iranian disinformation efforts, said a U.S. official who spoke on condition of anonymity because the case had not yet been officially announced by the American government.
Iranian state-run news agency IRNA announced the U.S. government seizures of the websites, without providing further information.

Comparatively, Alabama’s exposure notification app only had 150,000 downloads from August to November, says The Boston Globe.
The reason for Massachusetts’ success? Google automatically and silently installed the app on Android phones, reports The Verge.
Why was it downloaded automatically?
Android users in Massachusetts began noticing the app on their phones this last week without ever receiving a notification or downloading it themselves. Users began circulating their concerns on Reddit and in one-star app reviews, reports Arts Technica.

Senate Republicans on Tuesday used their filibuster power to block debate on Democrats’ sweeping federal elections bill, dealing a fatal blow to one of President Biden’s early major agenda items.
The measure failed in a 50-50 vote along party lines. However, even without Republicans’ use of the filibuster, the bill would have failed to pass as Democratic Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia voted to advance to debate but said he would vote against the measure unless a number of changes were made.

In the last two days, three interesting stories have emerged from the Middle East. The first story is about Ebrahim "the Butcher" Raisi's election as president in Iran; the second is Israel's announcement that this election forces it to protect itself against this butcher; and the third is news that Iran's sole nuclear power plant abruptly shut down. The first and second stories are quite obviously connected. The real question is whether the third story is a promise of things to come or is just a coincidence.
That Raisi was going to be president is no surprise to regular American Thinker readers.

Momentum is slowly beginning to shift against the anti-American, racist doctrine known as Critical Race Theory. Although, it has already spread like cancer throughout society and has been used by the radical left to poison the minds of children.
CRT had mostly flown under the radar. However, with the ascendancy of the Marxist-inspired Black Lives Matter movement the word is now out as to how corrosive that the left’s new religion truly is. The Biden regime’s unprecedented policies that condone discrimination against white people (as well as revisionist history) could be in trouble.
Multiple Republican-controlled states are now passing laws to ban the teaching of Critical Race Theory in schools.

In a nation of hundreds of millions of people, each with their own thoughts, beliefs, and ideas, there will be those with ugly thoughts committing ugly deeds. Racial prejudice will to a certain degree never be truly eradicated. And yet, we have done an excellent job as a country in substantially minimizing these attitudes socially, and even ensuring racial prejudices are eliminated at an institutional level within government. Although we are not perfect, in regard to race and opinions about race, we are living in the best of times; our nation is not recognizable as the place where segregation ruled throughout the South as recently as the 1960s.

“What is to be done?” That’s been the cry of revolutionaries from time immemorial: the malcontents, the aggrieved, the misfits, the morally wretched. From the beginning of the modern “progressive” movement—which occurred around the time Jean-Jacques Rousseau published “The Social Contract” in 1762, adumbrating the French Revolution—to the uprisings of 1848 across Europe, through the advent of “scientific” Marxism and the horrors of those deformed twins, Soviet communism and German National Socialism, the same desire to inflict punitive misery has marked nearly every “revolutionary” movement.

There is Bernie Madoff-level government corruption in Washington. There is Clinton Foundation-level grift in politics. And there is Anthony Weiner-level sleaze wherever the media, government, and politics collide. And then there is Hunter Biden.Seriously, what does Hunter Biden have to do to become a scandal around here? How about cheating on his wife and children to sleep with his dead brother’s widow? Nope. That just spawned waves of pity over the tragic loss of his brother. President Trump once famously joked that he could go out into the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and “wouldn’t lose any voters.”While Mr. Trump never actually shot anyone on Fifth Avenue, he was accused

The Civilian Complaint Review Board has recommended discipline against 39 officers, including police brass, over their response in last year’s George Floyd protests, according to a new report released Monday.
The city’s police watchdog issued an update on its investigation into the NYPD’s handling of the protests last summer, saying it has so far substantiated 26 complaints of misconduct against the nearly 40 officers.

Despite a self-made “policy” not to weigh in on “day-to-day scrum” in Washington, D.C., former President Barack Obama said Monday that Congress should work to pass federal election takeover legislation, claiming “democracy long-term” could be at risk.“We can’t wait until the next election because if we have the same kinds of shenanigans that brought about Jan. 6, if we have that for a couple more election cycles, we’re going to have real problems in terms of our democracy long-term,” Obama said on a phone call with grassroots supporters and former Attorney General Eric Holder, according to The Hill.

Hodges that legalized gay marriage nationwide.

A brutal, race-based execution on a major Chicago street highlights where Democrat policies are taking us. Their obsessive focus on race, coupled with their attacks on moral law, criminal justice, and social norms will turn all of America into Chicago unless we refuse to go along with a program that affects every facet of American life, from the federal government down to the smallest school board.
The facts behind the horrific execution in Chicago are simple:
A DRIVER has been executed and his wife critically injured after they were both dragged from their car and shot by a gang of attackers.

Citing experts at the Meedan Digital Health Lab , Reuters Fact Check vigorously asserts that the spike proteins induced by the COVID vaccines do not kill or damage cells.
Perhaps so, but something from the vaccines is causing deformations and apparent inflammation in red blood cells, as evidenced by images from microscopy photos. Images of blood cells taken before and after the vaccines can be seen starting about two minutes into the five-minute video. Postvaccine red blood cells exhibit rough instead of smooth edges, irregular shapes, and grouping together over time which is described as the “beginning form of thrombosis,” or blood clots. More research is needed

The Washington Post has been branded 'neoracist,' and as promoting a 'pseudoreligious movement' for the latest episode of its podcast series urging readers to hold 'white accountability groups' and feel 'deep shame' over their race.
Its series, hosted by Nicole Ellis and called the New Normal, launched last spring, originally to discuss the coronavirus pandemic. The podcast shifted to conversations about race after the death of George Floyd last year.
New Normal's latest episode, launched on Friday, discusses how white people can combat white supremacy, among them were forming so-called 'white accountability groups.'
'An antiracist culture does not exist among white people,' Trauma specialist and author Resmaa Manakem says.

On 17 August 1955, President Dwight D. Eisenhower prescribed a Code of Conduct for members of the Armed Forces of the United States. (snip) As a 20-year veteran of the United States Navy, I was taught this Code of Conduct and instructed in the responsibilities that accompanied my service. (snip) Given the inherent and undeniable virtues of this colorblind, merit-based system based upon shared values, the Armed Forces of the United States travel a pernicious and destructive path if they embrace Critical Race Theory, with its core belief that America and her citizenry are irredeemably racist, along with the tenets of “white supremacy,” “whiteness,”

Our military is under attack by “anti-racism” activists whose message is that white America is racist. [SNIP] Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Michael Gilday has told the third of a million naval personnel that they should be reading and learning from Ibram X. Kendi, a mediocre, fact-challenged university professor who has become the go-to “anti-racism” expert for America’s woke elites.
In a congressional hearings, Admiral Gilday was asked by Representative Jim Banks to denounce Kendi’s view that white people criminals - that they created the AIDS virus to kill black people. The Admiral refused to do so, dismissing it as a “cherry picked” quote about which he had no other opinion.

There aren’t many bright spots in American politics these days, especially when one is peering inside the Beltway. The performance of my senior senator here in Arizona — Kyrsten Sinema — has been refreshing so far.
Sinema wrote an op-ed on Monday for The Washington Post reaffirming her opposition to ending the filibuster. Predictably, libs all over are triggered by this common sense, moderate approach to governing. She’s a woman who sticks to her principles, which is something I need to set up here before I get to the stuff mentioned in the headline. From her op-ed:
It’s no secret that I oppose eliminating the Senate’s 60-vote threshold.

One in four adults age 18 to 39 in the United States "probably or definitely" will refuse to get the COVID-19 vaccine, according to survey data released Monday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Roughly the same percentage said they were "unsure" or "probably would" receive the vaccine, the data showed.
These percentages were both higher among Black people, with nearly one-third indicating that they would probably or definitely not get inoculated against the coronavirus and 28% suggesting they were unsure.
Among respondents who reported that they would likely refuse the immunization, just under 57% cited "lack of trust in COVID-19 vaccines"

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) on Monday torched the Democrats’ election takeover bill on the Senate floor as a purely “partisan power grab” by the left “to rig the rules of American elections permanently” in their favor. As the Senate looks to vote on the Democrats’ election bill this week, McConnell took to the Senate floor to explain what the Democrats are trying to accomplish with their radical agenda. “Senate Democrats entered June with an agenda that was designed to fail. The Democratic leader planned votes on a host of the left’s most radical priorities,” McConnell said.

Monday marked the 21st day of June, a month that Joe Biden hoped would see the passage of his extreme voting rights power grab, as well as a huge infrastructure bill. So far, neither has happened and CBS This Morning journalists began to fret about what to do next. In fact, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki seemed to indicate that the so-called “For the People” act was doomed.
Co-host Anthony Mason asked Psaki if the White House had an alternative strategy: “Jen, as Kris Van Cleave mentioned, a vote is expected as early as Tuesday

With the COVID pandemic waning across the country, the time for reflection on what exactly happened and how it was handled is upon us. On that front, lockdowns and government overreach are at or near the top of the list of recriminations to be made. Policies pushed on a vulnerable, fearful public as necessary because “science” arbitrarily destroyed jobs and small businesses across the country, and many of them won’t be coming back. So who benefited the most? You’ll be less than shocked to learn it’s the people who always benefit when big government gets involved – billionaires and big business.

The Trump Organization sued New York City on Monday for cancelling its contract to run a golf course in the Bronx earlier this year, a move it said was politically motivated by Mayor Bill de Blasio's disdain for the former president. Their lawsuit, filed in state court, says nothing in the 566-page contract gave New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio the right to terminate the deal after the president's supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol on January 6. Lawyers for the Trump organization have demanded that it be allowed to continue to run the course, which has dramatic views of the Manhattan skyline, or

Car rammings became a common weapon of Islamic terrorists in Europe and to a lesser degree here. Numerous plots have involved proposed Islamic attacks including recently one on a gay pride parade.
Just last month a Seattle Muslim convert was arrested. The convert had discussed driving a "semi-truck" through "the gay pride parade in downtown Seattle". Even though the arrest came shortly before the anniversary of the ISIS massacre at the Pulse nightclub, both Biden and the media ignored the potential plot and the fact that the Pulse shooting was Islamic terrorism.

Vice President Kamala Harris on Monday wore a new hat in the Biden administration – publicizing the expanded Child Tax Credit – while she has taken criticism for failing to visit the border since she was named border czar in March.Harris took the lead on the campaign to ensure American families know about the tax benefit, which was expanded under the American Rescue Plan, during an event in Pennsylvania on Monday.Earlier this month, the White House designated Monday Child Tax Credit Awareness Day to get the word out to the American public.
