Silverton, Colorado, Mayor Shane Fuhrman announced that the Pledge of Allegiance would be banned at trustee meetings and faced nearly immediate backlash.“Due to direct and indirect threats, inappropriate comments in and out of public meetings and general divisiveness and issues created in our community, we will not be reciting the Pledge of Allegiance during Town of Silverton trustee meetings,” he announced during the June 14 meeting, Fox 31 News reported. In response, attendees recited the pledge during the public comment period, FoxNews.com reported, causing the mayor to declare them out of order.

They need to ban the Mayor, better yet, fire him and get one who loves our Country, the Flag, the Constitution and the Pledge of Allegiance.
We all need to take a stand against this "wokeness."

How is the Pledge anything but allegiance to America and what's wrong with that ?

He would prefer chanting from the Quoran and prayers of Allahu Akbar. As well as a public stoning of Christians and MAGA hat wearers. I suggest that next time after those patriots in attendance have recited the POA, they immediately break out with some hymns. In The Garden, How Great Thou Art, How Firm a Foundation, Way Maker, and finish up with Amazing Grace. You know they will squirm like worms and feel extremely uncomfortable and will loudly object and make threats but do it anyway.

Why are people electing these tyrants? Not voting is also a vote, probably for the worst. It is very evident what not paying attention to who is elected on the school board has caused.

The mayor, in a stunning reversal, has since stated that meetings will hereafter be preceded by a video of the President of the United States reciting the pledge of allegiance. SARCOFF.

An insane liberal Mayor declares people reciting the Pledge out of order?? As the Queen of Hearts might say "Off with their heads!" If this Mayor wants to see where divisive issues come from, he should look in his bathroom mirror. Imbecile.

Big mistake. If they had pledged allegiance to Soros - - instead of to the flag - - it would have been OK.

A smart city council member would have asked if banning the pledge was on the agenda. Banning the pledge should be added to the next council meeting with the mayor asked to bring examples of the threats, complains, and divisions caused by the pledge. Citing people who don't like the pledge does not count. I don't like financial or HR diversity reports, but they are still part of the meetings.

Can this community make it a referendum question for the fall election? Let the people of the community decide.
(In May, PA had referendum questions on the ballot regarding Gov wolf's overreach of power. He was taken back a few steps. The mask mandates ends next week (for most situations).

Most of these unpleasant moves are based on complaints from Karens who are dissatisfied with everything in their lives. We're losing our country to small minorities.
