St. Paul Public Schools announced Tuesday classes at all schools in the district are canceled due to hot weather. Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost has filed a lawsuit asking a court to declare Google a public utility that should be regulated as such.
"Google uses its dominance of internet search to steer Ohioans to Google’s own products – that's discriminatory and anti-competitive," Yost said in a statement. "When you own the railroad or the electric company or the cellphone tower, you have to treat everyone the same and give everybody access."
The lawsuit, filed in Delaware County Common Pleas Court, is believed to be the first of its kind, Yost's office said.
Specifically, the lawsuit seeks a legal declaration that Google is a "common carrier," like phone, gas and electric companies.

Last week a group of representatives from Pennsylvania toured the Arizona facility conducting the Maricopa County audit. According to Griselda Zetino from KTAR, today a contingent from Alaska (including David Eastman), and one from Georgia (Burt Jones and Brandon Beach) are doing the same.

A number of major websites, including those of news outlets like The New York Times, CNN and the BBC have returned to full functionality after experiencing an hour-long outage this morning.
The culprit was identified as a content delivery network operated by Fastly Inc. At 6 a.m. ET, sites went dark due to an issue at Fastly. The outages appear to be unrelated to recent ransom attacks and hacks of a number of public and private computer systems.
In addition the news sites, Amazon, Reddit, Twitch as well as streaming services HBO Max and Hulu also saw glitches. Also affected were Stack Overflow, GitHub, gov.uk, Quora, PayPal, Vimeo, Shopify and Stripe.

The Biden administration's Justice Department filed court documents Monday that seek to defend former President Donald Trump in a defamation lawsuit.
President Joe Biden criticized Trump on the campaign trail last year for using the department like his own "private law firm" in multiple instances, including in the case of E. Jean Carroll, who has accused Trump of sexually assaulting her in the mid-1990s.

But, before celebrating the death of the pernicious “voting rights” bill, it would be useful to read paragraph 12 of Manchin’s column, wherein he declares his support for the equally dangerous John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act (S 4263). This bill, like S 1, would effectively gut voter-ID laws and usurp state sovereignty over elections.

Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., on Monday appeared to place America in the same category as the Taliban and Hamas, saying the U.S., Israel and the terrorist groups have all committed "unthinkable atrocities."
Omar, a member of the progressive "Squad," posted a tweet that said that the U.S. needs to "have the same level of accountability and justice for all victims of crimes against humanity." The Minnesota Democrat then claimed America and Israel have committed "unthinkable atrocities" like those committed by the terrorist groups.
