Was mask-wearing pointless after all?
Fauci must be forced to answer

Did we ever need masks? It’s a touchy, complex question. People may not want to learn that millions of us covered our faces for 15 months for no good reason after all. But asking the questions is exactly what we must do. Last week, a trove of Dr. Anthony Fauci’s emails were released to the public. In a Feb. 5, 2020, email to a Team Obama health official, the virus guru wrote that masks were for infected people, and that “the typical mask you buy in a drug store is not really effective in keeping out the virus, which is small enough to pass through the material.”

Do you remember laughing at the 14th-century drawings - - showing people in Europe wearing nose-cone masks to ward off the Black Plague? Well - - it's the same thing now!

Another question would be the origin of all the masks we used. I have heard most of them came from China.

Of course they were pointless. Masks were political, just like every other aspect of COVID. Masks, social distancing, shutdowns - they had very little to do with public health, and everything to do with political leverage and messaging.

How could they be effective? They were made by Ellen, the woman down the street with the sewing machine. I used a cut up pajama pant leg. My cloth mask was just a face kotex. The virus size is known. 95% of masks, even if worn properly have a larger mesh. This isnt science. It just arithmetic

More than 40 years ago, Jimmy Carter urged Americans to tie yellow ribbons around trees and ring church bells as our national response to the Iran hostage crisis. The measures were laughable, but Democrats like demonstrations. Masks have been as effective as yellow ribbons, meaning they contributed nothing but a feeling of doing something. If you are a liberal, good intentions are more important than results. That is why even a year or longer from now, some people will self-righteously wear masks. Like Earth Day celebrations, masks are all about the people who love being seen in them.

As I've said before. Fauci has made only one statement that was true from the beginning, and it was masks don't work. Everything else after that he's lied about. Some masks work for a short period of time, but they're used mostly in hospitals and then thrown away. The majority of the masks being used by the public are useless, and don't do anything but make it more difficult to breath, and yes, the blue paper masks are all made in China.

Coincidentally, Wifey & I just watched our granddaughter's 'virtual' graduation on a Zoom thing. Students came up, got their awards and stuff, shook hands with the school staff and (we presume) smiled for the cameras - WEARING MASKS! I have seldom been so angry. No distancing, no fist bumping just masks. (I think they're all Theater). Rot in Hades, Fauci.

The mask mandate was slavery training and obedience and control of the masses and a very powerful tool to instill fear in everyone. Considering a virus is 1/millionth of an inch long and smaller than a bacteria and a virus going through a mask is like a flea flying through the door of an aircraft hanger. Totally worthless and completely ineffective in stopping it. But it made people feel safe. A false sense of security that they won't catch it. I was a mask rebel from the beginning.

Most readers of Lucianne have common sense. For that reason, most of us have known from the beginning that masks were useless theater, only used to scare and control people. In my small "flyover" town 90% of us did not wear masks or social distance. I don't know anyone that got the chinese flu.

The point of making us wear masks was not to inhibit the spread of Covid, it was to sow fear and solicit blind obedience from a gullible electorate that was tired of being beaten down by 4 solid years of lies from Democrats and their willing minions in the MSM . The Democrats had to destroy the country as part of their scorched earth policy to remove Trump from office. Wearing those !@#$! masks was part of our punishment for daring to elect Trump and challenge the status quo in D.C.

Why the past tense? I was just thrown out of a restaurant for not wearing a mask to walk five feet and remove it even though I am fully vaccinated. I decided I never had to eat at a restaurant run by insane people again. I know two people who got COVID. One, very early on, caught it unmasked. He was given HCQ (before Trump endorsed it, he says, otherwise he would have refused.) He was also put on a ventilator prophylactically. He recovered even though he was quite elderly. The second wore his mask every day, washed his hands frequently, and social distanced rather than be fired from his much-needed job. He had only mild symptoms that lasted for two days and was given no treatment, but the doctor confined him to his room for two weeks. His wife and child did not get sick. It's perfectly obvious to me that the whole thing was a way to take out Trump.

If you are actively sneezing, coughing, dripping yuck from your nose, by all means wear a mask if you have to be out. Staying home however is the best thing to do. But I will wear a mask from now on when I am sick with a respiratory infection and HAVE to be out to go to the doc or the pharmacy. In that situation they are helpful and even beneficial your fellow humans who don't want your crud. Otherwise, the masks have been pure theatre from the beginning and we all know it and have been shouting it from almost day one.

There are 4 mask studies i know about. 3 said there was no statistical proof they reduced the spread of infection. The 4th found the more you wore a mad, the more likely you were to get COVID. You didn’t hear much about any of them.

The evidence seems to be that masks did nothing to stop the spread of the virus. By Fall 2020, everyone was masked-up but the second wave of the virus came and was more deadly than the first. My understanding is that the virus is airborne in tiny droplets that easily make their way through or around a mask. The risk of getting infected from surfaces or even hands is small. Colds and flu on the other hand are spread by surfaces and unsanitized hands and by large droplets, so all of the disinfecting and maybe mask-wearing caused fewer people to get sick with those viruses. Also, it's empirical evidence, but the cases I have known or were contracted indoors--usually at home. So stay-at-home orders may have been counter-productive!
