A cold wind is blowing through the entertainment industry. And it comes with opportunistic purges of the 'older white men' filling its ranks. Whenever I speak to anyone in the industry, cancel culture looms large over the conversation. There's an industry within the industry looking for provocations to set off another purge and demand a change in leadership in order to take it over. That's just how critical race theory works. This story tangentially involves me because the real target was the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and the Golden Globes. You'll recall Ricky Gervais doing his thing at the 2020 Golden Globes. That sort of thing will go by the wayside.

I've given up on Hollywood and the entertainment industry in general. There are no movies being made worth watching, except for the brain dead. Even made-for-TV movies are lousy. Besides, you can't watch anything because of all the commercial interruptions. I've already forsaken movie theaters, and now will finally ''cut the cable'' on TV. Too many marketing channels, and far too much time devoted to commercials. Of all the 175 channels on cable, I watch three or four on a periodic basis. Not worth it.

I have to wonder. Now that the vast majority of the shlock Hollywood produces has no audience of any size and Hollywood will eventually sink into cultural obscurity not unlike Modern "Art" or most modern classical music, when will the Benjamins start to matter again. I mean the machine has to run on money and if it's all going out and none coming in, when does the wokefest end and good old greed come back into play?

When anyone points out their racism, they scream "racist" and work to get them fured...and give the job to...a black racist. I was pretty much DONE with Hollywierd already, this should finish it off.

The pendulum is always swinging. The radicals are turning on the own and it will swing again. Comedians are beginning to speak out. The repercussions for the average person will be significant.

Black Lives Matter and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People have been harshly criticized by Republicans for failing to condemn the viral ‘Uncle Tim’ reference to Senator Tim Scott on Wednesday. Scott was compared to the racist 'Uncle Tom' trope that depicts black people as subservient after delivering the GOP rebuttal to President Joe Biden's speech before Congress in which he defended the country as not racist. [SNIP] 'I get called Uncle Tom and the N-word by progressives ... I know first-hand, our healing is not finished,' he said.

I thought I knew all the horrible Bernie Sanders stories. But this one is new to me. In 1971, Vermont was debating a tenant's rights bill. One of the testimonials to Vermont's State Senate Judiciary Committee came from one Susan Mott of Burlington, who said the legislation did not go far enough in prohibiting discrimination against single mothers and recipients of welfare benefits. Mott had one child and was on welfare. That one child, introduced earlier in this essay, was Levi Sanders, Bernie Sanders' son.

When U.S. Catholic bishops hold their next national meeting in June, they'll be deciding whether to send a tougher-than-ever message to President Joe Biden and other Catholic politicians: Don´t receive Communion if you persist in public advocacy of abortion rights. At issue is a document that will be prepared for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops by its Committee on Doctrine, with the aim of clarifying the church's stance on an issue that has repeatedly vexed the bishops in recent decades. It's taken on new urgency now, in the eyes of many bishops, because Biden.... is the first to hold that office while espousing clear-cut support for abortion rights.

The U.S. Postal Service admitted during a Wednesday meeting to spying on citizens with its law enforcement arm, claiming it worked with other agencies to track Americans' social media posts. Chief Postal Inspector Gary Barksdale briefed lawmakers on the Oversight Committee regarding the program known as iCOP, or Internet Covert Operations Program, but could not provide a date for when it was initiated. 'The Chief Postal Inspector was wildly unprepared for this briefing,' GOP Representative Nancy Mace of South Carolina told following the meeting with Barksdale.

Many major news outlets ignored a bombshell New York Times report that presidential envoy for climate John Kerry shared intelligence with Iran about covert Israeli military operations. ABC, CBS, NBC, and 24-hour news network MSNBC dedicated zero coverage on their morning and evening news programs to the Sunday New York Times report, according to Fox News. CNN addressed the report just twice on Tuesday, once in the morning and briefly during Jake Tapper’s interview with Secretary of State Antony Blinken. Neither CNN nor MSNBC mentioned the controversy during their prime-time shows.

White House resident Joe Biden was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 1972, at the age of 29. Two years later, in 1974, the Delaware Democrat was the subject of a 4,000-plus-word Washingtonian profile, but not for anything he had accomplished in office. “I have no illusions about why I am such a hot commodity,” Biden told Kitty Kelley. “I am the youngest man in the Senate and I am also the victim of a tragic fate which makes me very newsworthy.”

When a white police officer in Ohio shot and killed Ma’Khia Bryant, stopping her from plunging a butcher knife into the chest of an unarmed black teenager, the racial melodrama that is destroying the very fabric of American society reached what the “woke” refer to as an “inflection point.” At that moment, the narrative of the national lynch mob – verdict first, due process be damned – collided with an impossible reality: a white cop saving the life of a black child. Unable to resolve this dilemma, the woke mob simply refused to see it. It was left to Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors to formulate their denial bluntly...

The Kentucky city’s police department has been in turmoil since the March 2020 police-involved shooting of Breonna Taylor, the 26-year-old black EMT who was fatally shot in her home by officers executing a no-knock search warrant. According to statistics provided by the LMPD on Tuesday, the department has seen about 190 officers leave last year and 43 depart so far this year.

Kamala Harris hasn't been looking well lately. She gave a maskless interview to CNN's Dana Bash a week ago, and she looked much more jowly and wrinkly than she did just three months ago, when she took the oath of office. She has a bit more junk in the trunk now, and gone are the purple, maroon, and ivory suits; it's black or navy all the time now, the better to hide the extra jiggly bits. A lot of her sentences now begin with "Well, I mean," signaling the intellectual vacuity she's settled for, as though she's completely given up on trying to sound smart.

Keith Heacook, 54, was declared 'clinically dead' on Wednesday at a Baltimore hospital, three days after he was allegedly attacked by Randon Wilkerson, 30. They seem to have forgotten about the assassination of Lincoln, WWI, Pearl Harbor and WWII, the Kennedy assassination, 9/11! Did they really think that line would resonate with anyone with a modicum of historical knowledge? While the entire speech was banal, this was the most egregious spoken line. That an American president would utter such an unspeakable lie is the measure of this man. He is a fool.

President Biden’s speech Wednesday night failed on all counts: It didn’t sell his latest spending plan, it didn’t sell his larger agenda — and, worst of all, it didn’t sell him.Start with the utterly bizarre “mask theater.” All the politicians in the room have been fully vaccinated, and Biden’s own CDC says that’s enough. So why the universal masking, and the social distancing? The message, cutting across the president’s occasional optimism, was that this nightmare will never end — which simply isn’t true.Equally, obviously false was Biden’s now-routine effort to claim all the credit for successful vaccinations: All that was set in motion before he took office.
