A Rigged System Can’t Last

You can’t win, but that’s all part of the plan. Reason, rules, processes – these are the foundations of a free society, which is why the cultural left is so dead set against them. A citizen needs to be able to rely on clear rules and fixed processes to vindicate his rights in order to have any rights. But the rights of free citizens – your rights – are an obstacle to the Lil’ Stalins who yearn to rule over us. If the liberal establishment can create a society where you can’t appeal to facts, evidence, or law, then – until the peasants' revolt –

Kurt is a treasure, love this gem "See the problem? If you can’t rely on the law or the evidence, then you are at the mercy of the whims of the liberal elite. Sure, the cop did the right thing, and the evidence is indisputable that he did the right thing, but it doesn’t matter at all. The cop is wrong and subject to all sorts of sanctions not because he violated any rule but purely because it is useful for him to be guilty of something."

White and Asian superiority is the problem. But I make the same plea as that old hair color commercial: "Don't hate me just because I'm beautiful."

Of the many clearly correct and intelligent things Mr. Schlichter wrote in this piece....this one is a real gem. FTA: "....people who never owned slaves now somehow owe a huge debt over slavery to people who were never slaves. " Yep, that's their nutso story. Remember those clear words the next time someone says something about reparations. Just read that back to them and grin. They are NUTS.

Will We Keep Our Republic? 4 replies

Ben Franklin famously said, "You've got a republic, if you can keep it." That warning is particularly haunting now, because we seem on the verge of losing it — not from foreign invasion, not from revolution, but because we stopped caring about it. America was founded on the principles of individual liberty and equal treatment under the law. These are the foundational principles required for equality and prosperity. Yet we've been creeping away from those principles for many years. In the last 12 years, that creep has become a sprint. The world's beacon of freedom is dying,
Now hiring college grads is racist, too 5 replies

I treated the NPR story on some companies' decision to loosen hiring requirements for certain jobs by not requiring a college degree as background noise, until at the very end I was startled by its dismissive description of a college diploma as just "a piece of paper that someone paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for." Really? Is that all that it is? Is that what years of study boil down to? I am perfectly willing to admit that plenty of jobs need no degree, native intelligence coupled with basic training being sufficient. I will also admit that education is wasted on some people —

Over the last few weeks, we've heard from a lot of border mayors and congressmen about the mess in their neighborhood. My guess is that a lot of them would have preferred for VP Harris to come to Laredo, Texas than having a virtual talk with the President of Guatemala. Anyway, it's not surprising that blues are starting to complain about the Biden policy, especially facing reelection in 2022 like Senator Mark Kelly in Arizona. President Biden said nothing of consequence about the border the other night and the "blues" are not happy. This is from Bryan Preston: It is a border crisis.

The Toronto Regional Real Estate Board (TRREB) is removing the term "master" bedroom from all of its databases and listing services and replacing it with the politically correct phrase "primary" bedroom. According to a TRREB news release, the change was suggested by the organization's Diversity and Inclusion Task Force (DITV) to better align it with Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) practices. The release promised that the change "will also address the negative connotations surrounding 'master' bedroom, which many Members, others in the industry, and the public at large associate with terminology rooted in slavery and/or sexism.

Woke Democrats Broke American Cities 9 replies

Almost all of the largest cities in the United States are governed by hard-left Democrats. In fact, there is only one Republican Mayor among the top 15 cities in the country and only three among the 30 largest cities. All of the problems in our urban areas today are almost exclusively the result of the failed Democratic Party leadership. While previous generations of Democrats might have tried to find bi-partisan solutions to long standing problems, the party’s leaders in 2021 are woke leftists interested only in pushing their radical agenda. The result has been outmigration, soaring crime rates, a drug epidemic, broken families, failing public schools,

Former Vice President Walter Mondale, one of the architects of Minnesota's liberal tradition, has died, his family announced Monday. He was 93. Along with Hubert Humphrey in the 1960s, Mondale put Minnesota on the map as a reliably blue state. Mondale started his career in Washington in 1964, when he was appointed to the Senate to replace Humphrey, who had resigned to become vice president. Mondale was elected to a full six-year term with about 54% of the vote in 1966, although Democrats lost the governorship and suffered other election setbacks. In 1972, Mondale won another Senate term with nearly 57% of the vote.

Few moments in life are as profoundly lonely as the day after the funeral of a loved one. And if the loss is of a lifelong companion – one's 'strength and stay', as the Queen so elegantly described her husband of 73 years, the Duke of Edinburgh – then it marks the point at which a life, irrevocably changed, must somehow carry on without them. The important paperwork and admin that always accompanies a death is largely done. The well-wishers and consolers have paid their tributes and shared memories. But when the door finally closes and Elizabeth is left alone without her Philip,

Too much freedom is a bad thing because it limits the ability of the state to coerce its subjects (“citizens” seems almost archaic as the Great Reset looms) into behavior they otherwise would resist. That’s the basic message explained to Chris Cuomo by a professor of public health policy that CNN favors with its airtime. We lost an incredible amount of the freedom we formerly took for granted when Covid-19 leaked out of a lab in Wuhan, China, and was greeted by world leaders as a pandemic justifying the radical curtailment of liberty and enhancement of their own power.

Joe Biden’s administration, seeking deep cuts to planet-heating emissions, is facing pressure to take a previously unthinkable step: declare the end of the internal combustion engine in the US. Washington state has moved to call time on the age of gasoline and diesel cars, with the legislature passing a goal that new car sales be only zero-emission vehicles from 2030, including out of state purchases that are then imported. The legislation now awaits to signature of Governor Jay Inslee, a Democrat who previously ran for president on the climate crisis platform. While not a strict mandate, the Washington bill is

One of the reasons, he said, is Frank Luntz. For decades, Luntz has been giving the GOP leadership its talking points. A cellphone belonging to her husband, Paul Hueper, was also forensically audited by agents but not confiscated, she said. Marilyn Hueper said agents also claimed there was photographic evidence that she was inside the Capitol during the riot; something she denies.

U.S. resistance to getting a COVID-19 vaccine is slowly diminishing, a new online survey finds, but it still exists and at especially high rates in some blue-collar jobs -- and nearly half of respondents are worried about side effects. For adults under age 65 who are hesitant, reluctance is mainly driven by concerns about safety, side effects and distrust in government, the poll found. It's also largely linked to people's line of work. The bottom line: "Vaccine hesitancy is emerging as a key barrier to ending the COVID-19 pandemic," said lead author Wendy King, associate professor of epidemiology in the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health.
