Lets not jump to conclusions. I just saw a comparison of two pictures of a dead body on the street in India. The one from a New York paper said it was covid. The very same picture (taken from a different angle) was from a year ago and said the death was a chemical leak.

Joe Biden’s administration, seeking deep cuts to planet-heating emissions, is facing pressure to take a previously unthinkable step: declare the end of the internal combustion engine in the US. Washington state has moved to call time on the age of gasoline and diesel cars, with the legislature passing a goal that new car sales be only zero-emission vehicles from 2030, including out of state purchases that are then imported. The legislation now awaits to signature of Governor Jay Inslee, a Democrat who previously ran for president on the climate crisis platform. While not a strict mandate, the Washington bill is

Joe Biden clearly hasn't learned a thing from the failed and immoral War on Drugs - a disaster that he played a huge part in creating. The president on Thursday ordered the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to ban menthol cigarettes, a plan first reported on Wednesday by the Washington Post. Since it's a regulatory change, Congress has no say in the matter. (Snip) The ban will make menthol a prized commodity, a sought-after product whose artificial scarcity will inevitably drive up its price on non-legal markets. The NYPD will return a robot dog after it was condemned for targeting 'low income communities of color' with the dystopian four-legged surveillance machine. John Miller, the NYPD's deputy commissioner for intelligence and counterterrorism, told the New York Daily News on Wednesday that the NYPD had cancelled its $94,000 contract with Boston Dynamics. Miller on Wednesday defended the metal canine, known as a DigiDog, from claims from critics like progressive congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who called it a 'robotic surveillance ground drone'. 'Shout out to everyone who fought against community advocates who demanded these resources go to investments like school counseling

More than half of American (and Californian) adults have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and nearly a third are fully vaccinated. Vaccination has now been opened to everyone 16 and older. Our biggest worry in the coming months isn't whether we'll be able to deliver enough doses; it's whether enough people will seek them. We’re getting closer to the point where every American who wants to be vaccinated will have gotten their needle stick. A quarter of Americans say they don't plan to be vaccinated; in vaccine-friendlier California, that’s 1 in 5. Of those who don’t

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. - Months after President Joe Biden snubbed Canadian officials by canceling Keystone XL, a showdown over a second crude oil pipeline threatens to further strain ties between the two neighbors. Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has set a May 12 deadline for Canadian energy company Enbridge to shut down its Line 5, which delivers oil from Alberta to refineries in the U.S. Midwest and eastern Canada. Whitmer agrees with environmentalists who consider the pipeline an environmental hazard, mostly because one 68-year-old section crosses the Straits of Mackinac linking Lake Michigan and Lake Huron. Canadian officials say closing the pipeline

The US is poised to ban menthol cigarettes in a move health experts say could have a positive impact on the health of Black Americans. The vast majority of Black smokers, an estimated 85 per cent, use menthol cigarettes, and now the Food and Drug Administration is set to take action this week. The FDA faces a Thursday court deadline to respond to a 2013 citizen petition urging it to ban menthol, in the same way it has other prohibited flavoured cigarettes. Kamala Harris hasn't been looking well lately. She gave a maskless interview to CNN's Dana Bash a week ago, and she looked much more jowly and wrinkly than she did just three months ago, when she took the oath of office. She has a bit more junk in the trunk now, and gone are the purple, maroon, and ivory suits; it's black or navy all the time now, the better to hide the extra jiggly bits. A lot of her sentences now begin with "Well, I mean," signaling the intellectual vacuity she's settled for, as though she's completely given up on trying to sound smart.
