WASHINGTON — The Census Bureau released state population totals that determine each state's number of House seats on Monday, with just seven seats moving among 13 states — the smallest shift among the states since the current congressional apportionment model was adopted in the 1940s. Texas was the biggest winner, gaining two House seats to its total. Following the Lone Star State, Colorado, Montana, Oregon, Florida and North Carolina each gained one seat. The losses were concentrated in the industrial Midwest, with Illinois, Michigan, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Ohio each losing one seat. Democratic strongholds California and New York each lost a

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison told CBS's "60 Minutes" in an interview aired Sunday that there was no evidence that Derek Chauvin's murder of George Floyd last May was a hate crime. Chauvin was convicted of murder and manslaughter charges on Tuesday for Floyd's death, during which the former police officer kneeled on Floyd's neck for more than nine minutes. Chauvin faces up to 40 years in prison and is currently being held in solitary confinement. When interviewer Scott Pelley asked Ellison whether the murder was a hate crime, the prosecutor replied: "I wouldn't call it that because hate crimes
