DENVER — A group of protesters took over all lanes of traffic on some downtown streets Friday night in a march against police brutality. CBS4 found the group walking northbound on Washington Street at Colfax Avenue. A banner warned of “Killer Cops” was carried by those at the front of the crowd. The Denver Police Department made no arrests in relation to the march, a spokesperson, Jay Casillas, confirmed Saturday. A man arrested at the State Capitol preceding the protest was not affiliated with the event, Trooper Ivan Alvarado of the Colorado State Patrol confirmed Saturday. Radio traffic overheard by

4 lanes of traffic blocked. Group supports anarchy and caused trouble last week. Cops were apparently in stand-down mode.

The facts are opposite of their claims. 10,000,000 arrests per year. 1,000 criminals shot per year. Of that the typical year has 10 to 20 range of "unarmed" criminals killed by police. Most of those were attempting to get the officer's gun to use it to murder the officer. Important point: "Unarmed" does NOT mean "not dangerous". A very substantial portion of all homicides involve NO weapon, just hands, feet, and other body parts used to beat the person to death. Pretty close to 1 out of 1,000,000 arrests result in an unarmed person of any race killed by police. This is a rare event. Lifestyle Tips: 1) don't get arrested - try obeying the laws 2) if you do get arrested, comply with instructions, precisely 3) if you manage to get arrested, don't start a fight with the police

If the Denver Police were really "killer cops", the cowards would not be calling the cops names, throwing rocks at them, and spitting in their faces.

Millions of Americans are not getting the second doses of their Covid-19 vaccines, and their ranks are growing. More than five million people, or nearly 8 percent of those who got a first shot of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, have missed their second doses, according to the most recent data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. That is more than double the rate among people who got inoculated in the first several weeks of the nationwide vaccine campaign. Even as the country wrestles with the problem of millions of people who are wary about getting vaccinated at

The Grieving kin of 16-year-old Ma' Khia Bryant who died after being struck by an Ohio cop’s gunshots on Tuesday believes the foster family system failed her and is looking to sue. The family has already started the process of consulting with an attorney and plans on moving forward to take legal action. "Someone has to be held accountable," the late teen’s cousin, Deja Torrence, said in an interview with Insider, without being specific as to who that might be. "The family just doesn't want this to be another senseless killing that goes under the rug and gets overlooked."

The recent pressure on Big Tech from Republicans is working, and they should keep it up. On Monday, Apple announced that it will allow Parler back on its App Store. Apple’s decision comes in response to a letter sent a few weeks ago by Colorado Republican Rep. Ken Buck and Utah Republican Sen. Mike Lee to Apple, Google, and Amazon over their treatment of Parler in the wake of the events on Jan. 6 at the Capitol. They demanded answers on whether the companies handled Parler’s suspensions differently from their usual review processes and whether they coordinated at all in

Venushki “Venus” Hemachandra has made it her mission to diversify the often white and male dominated medical marijuana industry. The founder and owner of Herbiculture, a 4,000-square-foot dispensary housed in a business park in Burtonsville, Montgomery County, says she’s used to surprising people by going against age, gender and ethnicity expectations. Already licensed as a dispenser, the Randallstown resident, 31, last year became one of the few women in Maryland also licensed as a grower and processor. As India announced grim records — the highest daily coronavirus infection tallies in a single country — Americans were enjoying a spring of vaccine abundance. In India, just 1.4 percent of the population has been fully vaccinated, and overwhelmed hospitals have been running short of oxygen. Meanwhile, in the United States — where 1 in 4 Americans are fully vaccinated and more than 40 percent have gotten at least the first dose — a major Miami hospital, Jackson Memorial, said it would begin winding down vaccinations because of excess supply and weakening demand. In Michigan, health workers are rolling out shots to high school

Climate change is not an isolated crisis — it is a symptom of our economic system. That system has jeopardized the future of life on this planet. (Snip) It is important that we understand climate change as a byproduct of an economic system based on extraction, exploitation, accumulation through dispossession — and racism. It threatens everyone’s physical health, mental health, air, quality, water access, food systems and shelter and the very land that holds our communities. A group almost 40 Democratic lawmakers are asking President Joe Biden to overhaul the unemployment system by permanently enacting some pandemic-relief measures, such as allowing gig-economy workers to continue collecting jobless benefits. In a letter sent Friday to Mr. Biden, the lawmakers argue that traditional jobless benefits fail to reflect the realities of the modern workforce, as well as providing far too little aid for families when people lose their jobs. The signers include Senator Bernie Sanders, Senate Finance Committee Chair Ron Wyden and Representative Adam Schiff. The appeal comes a year after the pandemic caused U.S. unemployment to surge

Wind and solar energy are both essentially obsolete technologies. There is a reason why only the very rich or the very adventurous sail across oceans: the wind is unreliable, and at best produces relatively little energy. Nevertheless, liberals have concocted fantasies whereby all of our electricity, or perhaps our entire economy, will be powered by those fickle sources. There are a number of reasons why this will never happen, but a paper published last week by Center of the American Experiment argues that land use constraints are the most basic reason why wind and solar are inexorably destined to fail. The paper, titled Not In Our Backyard, is authored by

A journalist and CNN analyst on Friday advanced the controversial claim that an Ohio police officer responding to a knife-wielding teenager should have shot her "in the leg" and should have considered not even using his gun to address the situation. April Ryan, a reporter with theGrio, made the argument—a common one among police critics—on Friday’s edition of HBO’s Real Time With Bill Maher. The show’s panel was discussing in part the recent police-involved shooting of 16-year-old Ohio resident Ma’Khia Bryant, who was attempting to stab several other teenagers with a large butcher knife when a responding officer shot and killed her.

There’s something off about Kamala Harris. And no, I’m not talking about her hard-left political beliefs, the lies she tells, or her endless reinventing herself for political advancement. In that regard, she’s just another leftist politician. What’s bizarre about Kamala is her inappropriate laughter about things that ought to inspire solemnity. What makes laughter inappropriate? It’s inappropriate when you’re speaking to a crowd and you’re the only one who laughs. Of course, that can also happen to a bad comedian, but there’s no indication in the clip below that Kamala was trying to tell a joke.

n the debate over whether one should or should not get the COVID vaccination, much has been said about the “science.” However, I’m not sure any encyclopedic knowledge of “science” is required to make this health decision. Simple statistical analysis should suffice to inform one’s ultimate decision. Statistics is primarily a study of probabilities. Fortunately, as regards COVID mortality rates, these probabilities are now known. That is, COVID mortality statistics broken down by age cohorts are now “known knowables.” For example, through statistics as of April 7, the odds an American under the age of 25 would die from COVID were 1-in-106,217.
