Breonna Taylor's mother rips BLM Louisville

Tamika Palmer, the mother of Breonna Taylor, criticized the Louisville chapter of Black Lives Matter and other activists who have invoked her daughter's name in efforts to rally change. In a Wednesday Facebook post, Palmer lamented about how her daughter's friends and family and other close families to her are the only ones that have supported Palmer since Taylor, a black, 26-year-old emergency medical technician, was shot and killed in a police raid in March 2020. "I have never personally dealt with BLM Louisville, and personally have found them to be fraud," Palmer wrote. Palmer also called Rep. Attica Scott

Comments:

Someone finally noticed. BLM is just a massive money-making scheme that uses black citizens as a mascot.

This grieving mother has been classy from day one. I hope they’ll listen to her. I know the race pimps will try to silence her.

Fighting amongst themselves like the sleazy family members of MLK, trying to cash in on the name of a dead person. That's what happens when perceived entitlement and victimhood factions converge and clash from many directions.

Good for Tamika Palmer. BLM is not about rallying change, they are about lining their own pockets.

Hardly #1. Breonna's mother got a huge settlement from the city of Louisville via the good works of the wonderful Benjamin Crump—within days of Breonna's death. Since that time Louisville has built an enormous memorial to a drug dealer—our own Breonna! Now Tamika wants mo money!!

Last summer, I wrote a short story entitled Rat Island, set in a post-pandemic United States. In it, the rule of law and social order have broken down, with mobs roaming the streets of Los Angeles. A wealthy group of people stand on top of a skyscraper, waiting for the helicopter that will whisk them away, but the crowd storms the building, desperate to board. In the fall of 2020 my agent reported a surprising amount of interest from Hollywood in adapting my story for the screen—but this cooled off after the presidential election, when there appeared to be

Democratic Rep. Mondaire Jones of New York on Friday called on Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer to step down at the end of the current term. During an interview with Cheddar News, Jones said the 82-year-old Breyer needed to retire in order to grant President Joe Biden the ability to nominate a new justice. After the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg last September, former President Donald Trump quickly nominated Justice Amy Coney Barrett to the court, with her successful Senate confirmation effectively reordering the balance of the court and cementing a 6-3 conservative majority. MINNEAPOLIS — The fatal police shooting of Daunte Wright and tactics used to respond to people protesting his killing are putting Gov. Tim Walz increasingly at odds with the left flank of his base, threatening to fray Democratic allies heading into the critical 2022 election cycle. A growing number of DFL officials are calling for the first-term governor to reassign the case of former Brooklyn Center police officer Kim Potter, who shot and killed Wright, to Attorney General Keith Ellison. And Walz is facing a backlash for not roundly condemning tear gas and projectiles used in the first nights of protests

BROOKLYN CENTER, Minn. — A forest of little tree air fresheners has grown on a temporary chain link security fence outside the Brooklyn Center Police Department. “A lot of them on there,” Adam Labrie said from across the street. The Minneapolis man, who quietly took in the scene Friday with his two children, sees the air fresheners as a symbol. (Snip) Before he resigned, Brooklyn Center police chief Tim Gannon said Wright was stopped for expired tabs and the air freshener was only noticed later. BROOKLYN CENTER, Minn. — Elected leaders in the Minneapolis suburb where a police officer fatally shot Daunte Wright want officers to scale back their tactics amid nightly protests, leaving some law enforcement called in to assist asking whether the city still wants their help. (Snip) There have been several nights of violent protests and looting of dozens of stores and the police station has also been a focus of attack. Police have driven away protesters with tear gas grenades, rubber bullets, flash-bang grenades and long lines of riot police. Democrat Mayor Mike Elliot, who is black, said at a news conference

Washington state lawmakers passed a bill on Thursday setting a target to stop sales of gasoline-fueled vehicles there beginning in 2030, five years sooner than California. The target is not a firm mandate and is contingent on the state adopting a tax on vehicle miles traveled, a measure to help pay for new transportation infrastructure, according to the text of the bill. The move by the Pacific Northwest state comes as efforts to boost adoption of electric vehicles are accelerating over concerns about fossil fuels' contribution to climate change. Transport is the top source of greenhouse gas emissions in the

BROOKLYN CENTER, Minn —When William Adams moved to this area a few years ago, he joined thousands of Minneapolis residents in transforming Brooklyn Center from the mostly White suburb it once was into one where people of color account for more than half the population. But as he tried to settle into the community, Adams, who is Black, was always reminded of how Brooklyn Center police used to harass him in the early 1970s when he came to visit his girlfriend, who was White. “They would see something hanging in the window, or a light out on my car and

Earlier today the defense rested in the murder trial of former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin, charged in connection with the in-custody death of George Floyd. Chauvin waived his right to testify on his own behalf, asserting his Fifth Amendment right to remain silent during the course of the trial. That was not a surprising development. But what came next was quite surprising, and potentially a critical moment in the case for the prosecution. The prosecution advised the Court that it would have one rebuttal witness. A rebuttal witness can be called to present testimony in response to evidence heard

On Friday, Japanese Prime Minister Joshihide Suga became the first world leader to visit the Biden White House. These visits help set the tone for an administration. That being the case, the new administration’s tone is inept and rude. Biden was also absent for the first part of it, leaving an awkward Kamala Harris to trash the U.S. for gun violence before turning to welcome Suga. When Biden took over, things went downhill. (snip) Normally, when a foreign head of state arrives, the President gives him or her a formal greeting. This time, however, the President was nowhere to be found.

President Obama was well known for his diplomatic blunders, stumbles and curt demeanor with many foreign dignitaries including Queen Elizabeth II. Unsurprisingly it appears the JoeBama administration is picking up right where Obama left off. Japanese Prime Minister Joshihide Suga was the first world leader to visit the White House since Biden’s installation, and the poor form began with no-one greeting the head of the Japanese government upon arrival. When you consider the leftist narrative about stopping Asian hate, there is a rather ironic aspect to this visit and snub. Once Prime Minister Suga was inside the White House he was shunned for the greeting by his diplomatic peer,

There was a prolonged ammunition shortage during the Obama administration. I got through that one because a Power Line reader lined me up with a dealer in West Virginia who seemed to have an endless supply of 9 mm. and .22LR rounds. Over the last year, another ammo shortage has struck, caused in part by an influx of new gun buyers who are responding to rising crime rates, attacks on law enforcement, and the election of Joe Biden. As with most shortages, it has been accentuated by hoarding: whenever a shooter saw boxes of a popular caliber on the shelves, he would buy them all. For quite a while
