A GOP political organization dedicated to electing Republicans to state offices across the nation is highlighting what it calls a "record" first quarter fundraising haul in an off-election year. The Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) announced on Monday that, along with its strategic policy partner, the State Government Leadership Foundation, it hauled in a combined $4.2 million in fundraising during the January-March quarter, which the RSLC said is the most it’s ever brought in in the first quarter of an odd year.

Comments:

This is great news! I can't wait for the next generation of people like Paul Ryno, John Boner, Mittens Romney, and Fightin' Roy Blunt to come up through state offices. It's something to really live for!

To re-elect Republican legislators who balked at their duty in the '20 elections would be a sin. Looking into this now is a fraud.

Notice how the GOP has jumped in to defend and promote the brilliant new Georgia Election Law? Oh wait they are probably taking the time to formulate a brilliant, powerful campaign to make sure every state considers how to make sure that every legitimate black vote counts like Georgia...sure that's it.

We had Republicans controlling state legislatures in the swing states. I think the Republican Party needs fixing, before getting excited about electing Republicans.

Not one penny from me to Republican Party, now or ever. I plan on finding a few individual candidates to support, but I am done with the party.

It's not about the money. It's not even about the votes at this point. Even if the GOP re-takes the House and Senate, the RINO "leadership" will not fight for real conservative principles. They are the "Washington Generals" to the Democrat "Harlem Globetrotters". When President Lincoln realized McClellan would not fight, he FIRED him and hired Ulysses S. Grant to win the war. We need to fire the GOP and hire a new party (modeled after The Conservative Party of New York State) to win this war.

Public university officials violated the constitutional rights of a Christian student group and will now face a trial to set the compensatory damages for that violation, a court ruled this week. InterVarsity Christian Fellowship had operated continuously at Michigan's Wayne State University "since the 1930s" — until campus officials stripped its recognition in 2017 for "requiring that its faith leaders profess to be faithful," U.S. District Judge Robert Cleland wrote in a scathing 83-page ruling.

The White House is downplaying the national security implications of two suspected terrorists being arrested at the southern border as federal officials struggle with a surge in migrant crossings under President Joe Biden. It is "uncommon" for border agents to apprehend known or suspected terrorists, White House press secretary Jen Psaki insisted Tuesday. "While this is rare, this is a reflection of them doing their jobs," Psaki told reporters, referring to Border Patrol and other federal officers

WASHINGTON – The State Department denied Tuesday evening that it was considering a joint boycott alongside allies of the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. “Our position on the 2022 Olympics has not changed. We have not discussed and are not discussing any joint boycott with allies and partners,” a senior State Department official wrote in an emailed statement to CNBC. Department spokesman Ned Price had initially suggested during a press briefing earlier on Tuesday that a boycott of the Olympic Games was among the possibilities for addressing China’s human rights abuses.

A bipartisan group of lawmakers is warning that the national debt –– now estimated to total $85,210 per person –– poses an imminent threat, especially if interest rates spike. The U.S. government has spent around $6 trillion during the coronavirus pandemic, in addition to regular government appropriations. The $6 trillion figure does not count the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan that President Biden signed a few weeks ago. The deficit set a record in FY2020 at $3.13 trillion. And the national debt has hit a record $28 trillion.

The effort by Hunter Biden and Devon Archer to assist Dmitri Firtash began in spring 2015 when they were contacted by one of the oligarch's associates

Vice President Kamala Harris spoke in Connecticut this week and laughed maniacally when discussing the hardships and struggles parents faced during this past year of pandemic-inspired restrictions. Now more than a year in COVID-closures, parents saw a lack of education, child care, or community support as they tried to make sure their kids were cared for, educated, and that they were able to continue providing for the health and welfare of those kids. Harris seemed to find this marvelously funny.

Navy Seabees have built Vice President Kamala Harris her own version of the Resolute desk made out of materials from historic U.S. warships. Harris' desk, which sits in her office in the West Wing of the White House, was put together using wood, copper and nails taken from the USS Constitution, which was commissioned under George Washington in 1794. The USS Constitution is one of the country's first frigates and is the oldest commissioned warship still afloat. It was launched in 1797 in Boston, Massachusetts, and now sits in Baltimore Harbor. Harris' desk has carvings of an eagle surrounded by stars from the Constitution's stern decorations.

On Monday, Covert Affairs actress Piper Perabo voiced her intention to boycott the Dallas-based Southwest. She echoed former Democratic presidential candidate Howard Dean by using the now-ubiquitous term “voter suppression” to describe the bill. “I spend my money companies who support voting rights,” the actress tweeted.

It remains unclear how many specific actions Biden is expected to take on guns, but reporting indicates the president will also seek to close the “Charleston Loophole,” which allows licensed dealers to transfer firearms to buyers before a background check is completed.

I have a friend who is fearful of commercial airlines. At the gate, before boarding, he asks the agent the following question: "What is the captain's name?" If the answer indicates the pilot is female, he will not board that flight. Any criticism of my friend's lack of confidence in any qualified aviatrix is answered along these lines: "She can't drive a stick shift. I should trust her with a Jumbo Jet?" My friend is right to be cautious about flying, but for different reasons. Like most air travelers, he doesn't know what he doesn't know.

That doesn’t mean we won’t regain most of the freedoms we lost over the past year. It just means we’ll have to be extra careful far longer than we’d like.
