Fit for a President! Kamala Harris gets
her own 'Resolute' desk built by the Navy
with reclaimed wood from the USS
Constitution and a piece of metal from
the USS Arizona that sank in Pearl Harbor

Navy Seabees have built Vice President Kamala Harris her own version of the Resolute desk made out of materials from historic U.S. warships. Harris' desk, which sits in her office in the West Wing of the White House, was put together using wood, copper and nails taken from the USS Constitution, which was commissioned under George Washington in 1794. The USS Constitution is one of the country's first frigates and is the oldest commissioned warship still afloat. It was launched in 1797 in Boston, Massachusetts, and now sits in Baltimore Harbor. Harris' desk has carvings of an eagle surrounded by stars from the Constitution's stern decorations.

It's the least we could do for a patriotic New American like Kamel.

I am sure (since I won't go on the DM website) that the project started under the Trump Administration, since projects like this require much advance planning and contracting. The way the lede sounds, it will be spun as a tribute to her 'wonderfulness'. She should refuse it as it was built in 1797, and slavery was present in the Colonies. I doubt she will use it for anything other than ceremonial uses. The USS Constitution a/k/a 'Old Ironsides' is the oldest commissioned ship in the USN and is located at Charleston Navy Yard in Charlestown MASSACHUSETTS, near Boston in the Boston Historical Park. It's thankfully nowhere near Charm City.

The lamebrained DM's "history" is all garbled, tangling up two ships with "C names". #7 is correct. It is sad that a person like Commi-la will sit behind it. The USS Constitution is in Boston, the USS Constellation is in Balmer. The Constellation is a much later ship than the Constitution, which was one of our original first 'six frigates' which were of unusual design, heavy 44 gun frigates, fast and very well made, with some real resistance to the solid round iron shot of the day....why the Constitution was called Old Ironsides, before that was actually a thing. Expected life of a warship in those days was 10 to 20 year, with few lasting longer as the hulls sagged and they developed "hog" or bending of the whole hull. And, like all wooden ships, they require periodic rebuilding, replacing rotted timbers with new wood, and not all of a timber or plank is rotten, so there are pieces which could be resawn for a desk. So, after a few centuries of this....how much original wood is in them? Some, but certainly not all. Even in the day, masts and spars were regularly replaced at pretty short intervals (a year or three) and all the rope rigging was replaced pretty much continuously as it deteriorated rapidly from sun, water and wear.

It will take some real lying for BLM or other race hustlers to get rid of the original Resolution Desk that was presented to the President of the USA by Queen Victoria back in the eighteen hundreds. As the HMS Resolution was a ship of the Royal Navy that effectively put an end to the slave trade from West Africa to the Americas long before slavery was outlawed in the USA. The USS Constitution has been based at the old Boston Navy Yard for as long as anyone now alive can remember. One of my first cousin’s relatives through marriage, as a part of his naval career was assigned as the the Captain of of the USS Constitution for a couple of years. I remember we were on board the USS Constitution during 1976 for a tour during that commemoration year.
