The January 6 Prosecutions
Hit a Speed Bump

Original Article

Two weeks ago, I wrote of the Department of Justice’s overreach respecting some of the hundreds of January 6 defendants. On Friday the D.C. Circuit clipped the department’s wings. I expect more such losses as time goes on and the Department must actually present evidence in contested trials. The ploy of keeping in D.C. jails without bail some of the protestors who engaged in no specific violent acts at the Capitol until their cases can be heard was very obviously designed to compel them to plea bargain so they could return home to their families and jobs, and the three-judge panel wasn’t buying it.

Comments:

This is very good news. Some judges at least are ruling on the basis of the law and not their politics. The three judges involved here were appointed by Clinton, Obama, and Trump. This is a huge slap in the face to the Justice Department, which seemed prepared to order gulags be built for peaceful protesters.

I was screaming bloody murder about the way the justice department abused the Harmon and Bundy families along with other ranchers and supporters a few years back. They were finally exonerated, but the judge would not even allow video that proved the defense's case. It is an outrage this abuse of power, it ruins people's lives and sends a chilling message about opposition to the machine.

As far as I am concerned the question is moot. This prosecution is totally political and the actions of those conducting it are fraudulent. It is obvious who won the election and that fact alone should cause the case to be dismissed as an illegal attempt to cover up the truth.

OP -- I hesitate to agree with your characterization of this as "good news". The government following the clear and obvious requirements of the United States Constitution and other laws should be expected. The fact that this abuse of power ever reached even one judge, much less an appellate court, is appalling and should scare the bejesus out of us. So, I don't consider this "good news".

The blatant attempt to punish people who went to the Capitol while ignoring those trying to burn a Federal Court House in Portland and the other riots across the country tell the whole story. The Justice department is not after Justice, they have a leftist agenda. The FBI is as crooked as a snake, and no longer is of any use to a free America.

If they’ve been in jail 1-2 months, the damage is already done. If the problem is prosecutors seeking career advancement, why didn’t they apply the same heavy handed tactics with the attacks on the Portland federal buildings or the past attacks in DC, for example during the Kavanaugh hearings?

Anyone see any "Free Eric Munchel and Lisa Eisenhart" demonstrations anywhere? Any t-shirts? Graffiti? No. Why not? People "threatening" to water the tree of liberty with blood don't do those sorts of things. They have jobs and are busy... And one wonders why the Left wins. Look to Portland and Seattle for the ugly truth of how they operate. Think the jails are full of Antifa and BLM arsonists?

FTA: "By the time they made their way to the building, police were making no attempt to stop or even discourage protestors from entering. To go inside, Munchel and Eisenhart walked through an open door. While there, they attempted neither violence nor vandalism. They searched for no Members of Congress, and they harassed no police officers." Wow, those are some really hideous criminals there, walking through an open door, unopposed by Capitol officers in any way. /s off This is pure totalitarian BS. 95+% of the people who went in there did nothing whatsoever to cause any harm, and just walked into an open door without any indication that it was "illegal".

Huh. Lookee here what the First Amendment says. "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." That part about "...the right of the people peaceably to assemble..." is rather interesting in this case, isn't it?

I surely hope there are conservative attorneys and legal organizations that are helping these persecuted citizens. They must be terribly frightened, as well as their spouses and families, being subjected to this judicial terrorism. Did their causes get kicked off "Go Fund Me" sites? When do we start demonstrating to "Free the DC 300"? God bless them and show us how to help them.

It is important to note that the alleged criminals of Jan 6 have homes, families and jobs. The other side (Antifa and BLM) have almost homes, 2/3 of a family and no jobs. How long are supposed to pretend that the powers that be are not the real criminals ?

All last year 2020, the ANTIFA and the BLM bums burned and looted stores and police stations. They injured 2005 policemen and killed 30 helpless people. The media never said a word. The Democrats encouraged further looting "to fight racism i America" On January 6th patriots protested the fraud election. The election was stolen from Trump thru fake ballots. The Biden crooked FBI arrested 300 patriots and locked them into a DC prison. They are being beaten and tortured like in the Soviet Union. The Democrat media has not said one word.

It is nice to see a bit of the truth is coming out about the six hours of "insurrection" that took place at the Capitol building. There was a lot of shouting, pushing and shoving, but very little destruction. The only confirmed killing was an unarmed woman shot by a Capitol Cop. The Democrats and MSM claimed this was a near end of the world event. Yet they claimed that the people that spent months looting, burning, destroying, and, yes, killing in our cities were "peaceful demonstrators." The reaction to the six hour insurrection is all out of proportion to what the "peaceful demonstrators" were allowed to get away with,

Who will lead the deplorables’ exodus from the bondage that the political-corporate-cultural oligarchy imposes on America? The power that the oligarchy has gathered since 2015 pales by comparison with the resentment it created thereby, and the wave of public opinion that is building against it. America’s deplorables, clingers, irredeemables, chumps, dregs, neanderthals, etc.—persecuted, increasingly prosecuted for being on the wrong side of the oligarchy—yearn for political leaders to rescue their way of life. A recent YouTube interview with Peter Whittle led me, belatedly, to her 1999 memoir, Survivors, and let me begin by saying this: however much you may know about the grooming gangs – and, in particular, about the years of shameless stonewalling by police and other authorities who were terrified of Muslim unrest – reading about it all from the point of view

There are so many true and rotten things one can say about progressive values, but I think most will agree that one of the worst things progressives do is attack boys. There’s a reason for this: If raised right, boys are hardwired for courage. We see this in a wonderful way in a video someone posted showing an unknown teen in Loudon County, Virginia (which is famous for canning Dr. Seuss and trying to dox “white supremacist” parents) politely refusing to go along with his white teacher’s insistent racism. The short video brings together a lot of newsworthy trends.

In the early hours of March 12, FBI agents in southwestern Florida barricaded a neighborhood to prepare to raid the home of one resident. Christopher Worrell of Cape Coral was arrested and charged with several counts related to the January 6 Capitol melee. Even though Worrell had been cooperating with the FBI for two months, the agency nonetheless unleashed a massive, and no doubt costly, display of force to take him into custody.
