Avivo Village consists of 100 individual, climate-controlled and secure pods, which will provide Minnesotans experiencing homelessness real solutions to permanent housing. Emily Bastian, vice president of Avivo, walks through the rows of multi-colored homes lining the inside of a warehouse on Washington Avenue in the North Loop. “This is very exciting. It’s a new model, people have not done this before,” Bastian said. “Everyone deserves housing irregardless of who they are or choices that they make.”

What's new about this? It looks exactly like the set-up the military used for temporary quarters in Qatar in 2003, except they put bunk beds in them, instead of a bed, a table and a chair.

It looks like a prison or worse...a fancy kennel. The majority of homeless will prefer their tents, no matter how cold. The only people this will help are the Homeless Industry grant writers and awardees. Its all a big con for "progressives" who have college degrees in subjects that ended in "studies". They "serve" a minuscule number of needy people while employing an army of "advocates". The last thing they want is to "solve" the homeless "problem". Speaking of our outdoor citizens; if the China Virus is so contagious and deadly, why hasn't the homeless community been devastated?

“Everyone deserves housing irregardless of who they are or choices that they make.” What an incredibly stupid and liberal statement. I hope the houses are more attractive than Bastian's face or the homeless won't even want to live in them. It's an indoor village built inside an old warehouse so it will be like living on a shelf at Lowes.

A few things..... why us the reporter wearing a face mask? There is absolutely no one anywhere near her. 100 units at 2 million works out to 20,000 per unit. I can buy a fully outfitted travel trailer for less than that. I suspect that the cost doesn't include the building these pods are housed in. The design is stupid. 100 units, all exactly the same. The number of units could easily have been doubled by reducing the spacing. A lot more could have been done for less.

"Mayor Frey and the City's failure to control the significant (yet manageable) number of malefactors on Lake Street resulted in his failure to protect Town Talk," the lawsuit states, in part.

In trial data released on Wednesday, Eli Lilly said the combination reduced the risk of hospitalization and death by 87 percent compared to a placebo. The results are an improvement of an earlier study of the combination, which reduced the risk of hospitalization and death by 70 percent.
