The city of Minneapolis on Friday agreed to pay $27 million to settle a civil lawsuit from George Floyd's family over the Black man's death in police custody, even as jury selection continued in a former officer's murder trial.
The Minneapolis City Council emerged from a closed session to announce the record settlement, which includes $500,000 for the neighborhood where Floyd was arrested. Floyd family attorney Ben Crump called a news conference for 1 p.m. that was to include family members.

City sure is anxious to settle before the trial. Right, crime pays./s
Heck, they may need that money to rebuild the city after patrolman is found not guilty and the gangs riot.

The truth be known the defense or family lawyers will pocket most of the settlement money. That will encourage those lawyers to file more civil suits against local jurisdictions run by leftist and liberal Democrats who they know will cave and not go to court.

Is that all? America must be detroyed and all they got was $27,000,000?
But wait! If America is destroyed, who will pay the $27,000,000, and the one after that?

This is just plain stupid! Why would anyone pay a drug addled thug a penny. That bum died committing a crime while full of drugs and resisting police. He did not die as the result of anything that cop did.

Sure, why not. After all, it isn't their money; It comes out of the pockets of the Floyd family's neighbors (the ones who do have jobs, anyway).

The City agreed to pay $27 million because it feared a woke jury would award millions more.

That money came from the Porkulus $1.9T just passed. Bet me a 12 pack of Country Club malt liquor that the family buys a brand new Cadillac the day they get it.

Just think of it as reparations. It doesn't take 9 minutes to choke someone to death. Nor can one be choked to death by putting a knee of the back (or side) of their neck.

How great is this country eh? You can be a low life criminal and get killed because of not following police orders and then your family can get rich because you can always find a 'shark' (lawyer) to sue someone for something...

Does this mean Floyd's family will finally pay that convenience store the $20 that George stuck them with in counterfeit?
Just think....if only the Minneapolis Police had been slower to respond to the 911 call, George Floyd would have died from fentanyl OD in his car in the convenience store parking lot, Minneapolis wouldn't have been burned down, BLM wouldn't exist, Biden wouldn't be living in the White House basement, and Floyd's bloodsuckers would have only gotten what they deserve....nothing!

Floyd was not worth $27.00 when he was alive. No way $27 million.

This will turn out just like Rodney King. The family will blow it all on trinkets and drugs, will have numerous DUIs and will wind up dead in the bottom of their swimming pool.

They must think the whole jury will be made up of George Floyd's.

It's always heartwarming - - to read about a great American success story.
George Floyd was a shining example of how to spend an entire adult life as a violent criminal - - then take a massive and mortal overdose of narcotic drugs - - so that his family could mau-mau leftist politicians into a huge cash settlement.
Every American family should encourage its sons - - to follow the George Floyd road to success and wealth.

Had Big Floyd been WHITE, and even if the officer had been bLACK, the overdose would scarcely have merited a line or two of local coverage in the crime section of the news. Instead, because of bLACK Privilege, which (like Antifa) does not exist, we've thrown our national culture and the safety of our cities into the toilet.

What a SCAM.
Druggie loser Floyd kills himself with an overdose of illegal drugs, and the Black Race Baiter Industry goes into overdrive, and some relatives hit the jackpot because of the brainless, soulless pukes in charge in Minnie-Apples.

Who says "Crime doesn't pay" ? Imagine how many families of druggies are hoping for the big pay off.

That decision by the City Council, at this time, to pay out twenty-seven million dollars to the Floyd family, with no doubt a lot of the money ending up in the pockets of lawyers, is obviously intended to influence and taint the jury pools in the upcoming trials of the four police officers, in an attempt to make it certain that those police officers will never be able to get fair trials, and to insure convictions. The City Council has a special interest to make sure that the police officers are convicted to lower the chances that violent groups will riot and burn the rest of the city down if the officers are not convicted. The City Council surely could have waited until the officers trials were over before deciding the pending civil matter, and by doing so they might well have saved the taxpayers a lot of money.
