Georgetown Law professor is fired
after saying black students are at
'plain bottom of her class almost

Georgetown Law has fired one white professor and placed another on administrative leave after a video of their discussion about a black student in their class was condemned on social media. Dean Bill Treanor anounced on Thursday that the school had ended its relationship with Professor Sandra Sellers after the video showed her complaining on Zoom that black students were predominantly at the bottom of her class.(Snip) 'They were a bit jumbled. It's like let me reason through that, what you just said,' Sellers says of the student's performance, who the Black Law Students Asssociation claims is the only black person in the class.

Comments:

Speak the truth and get fired, even though both professors obviously did not enjoy the fact that the African Affirmative Action Admits can't cut the academic mustard. Meanwhile, the WHITE Law Students Association has yet to comment on the situation.

Maybe Honest Abe had a point; things are upside-down culturally, perhaps not fixable. "I am not, nor ever have been in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races. I am not nor ever have been in favor of making voters or jurors of negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people." Abraham Lincoln, Fourth Lincoln-Douglas debate, September 18, 1858. "I believe it would be better to export them all to some fertile country with a good climate, which they could have to themselves." Re#5 Apparently Abe painted with a very very wide brush too. The problems with Black Americans are white liberal politicians, liberal education that isn't an education, liberal black race activists and a system that reinforces "victimhood".

I had two black kids in my class last semester. Neither finished, had to give them "incomplete" after they went AWOL. Now I have to go through all the procedures to clean up the mess. One of them said his best friend was shot and killed. How many of us have had a friend shot, much less killed, much less a best friend? The pathology in "The Community" is so sad. And the Left will defend their right to the death to keep these people down. Not THEIR death mind you, the death of the people in the ghettos.

There was a law professor at the Univ. of Pennsylvania named Amy Wax who pointed out that black students were rarely graduating - most dropped out or just barely got through. She was not denigrating the students - simply observing and commenting on empirical, verifiable statistics. Not surprisingly, she was vilified.

One of my favorite stories involving this subject happened in the military, at a senior NCO development school. The subject matter for that day was "values". The instructor stood up in front of the gallery, introducing the subject and threw out the question "how do you feel about euthanasia?" One of the students, an ebonics ghetto type NCO, piped up with "I think they're very disadvantaged". You could have heard a pin drop. And when the other students realized he was serious, the laughter started. That poor instructor had to bite her lip so hard I swear it bled as she yelled at us for laughing.

There was no malice on the part of the professor. The same cannot be said of the "management." What's with the hostility toward a professor who did nothing but express concern? Why is SHE the one getting fired, when the school admitted students who now, as she noted, struggle to keep up? Sounds like the school is playing CYA by firing the one person who thought it worth mentioning that black students were struggling.
