Houston police had been looking for 26-year-old Alexis Leigh Sharkey when they found a woman’s body Saturday on Red Haw Lane. Republican state lawmakers in Pennsylvania on Monday introduced a resolution to dispute the results of the 2020 election.

I was the token conservative columnist for seven years at the Aspen Times, the local lefty newspaper of Aspen, Colorado.
Despite Democrats outnumbering Republicans in Aspen by about a three-to-one margin, the clicks on my column dwarfed the pack of liberal columns and their predictable progressive pusillanimous pattering. In fact, my column was often the most popular thing in the entire newspaper, sometimes drawing more clicks than frontpage news.
The consolation prize for President Trump in the Golden State was that he won 5.5 million votes in 2020, a million plus more than four years ago. But did Joe Biden really top 11 million ballots as reported? One experienced programmer and information security expert thinks the answer is no. In fact, the Democratic candidate may not have even topped 10 million. The judge who Sunday ordered Georgia officials not to wipe or reset voting machines scheduled the next hearing in the case for Friday.
U.S. District Judge Timothy Batten Sr., a George W. Bush appointee, issued three emergency orders on Sunday, initially ordering officials to hold off on taking action regarding the machines, reversing himself, then re-establishing the first order.
In a Nov. 30 order, Batten said his final decision on Sunday partially granting the defendants’ motion “involves a controlling question of law as to which there is substantial ground for difference of opinion and that an immediate appeal from the order may materially advance the ultimate termination of the litigation.”
The electoral dust is about settled, and any reasoned verdict holds that this election could have been far, far worse for conservatives. An argument could even be made that the most likely outcome, a Biden presidency checked by a Republican Senate majority, is the best that Republicans could have hoped for considering the long-term implications.
At this point, it is clear to all but the most obdurate partisan that Joe Biden has won the presidency, if only by a few inches in a few states.
The first shot at Joe Biden’s choice to head the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) was fired Sunday night. It was reported by the Wall Street Journal and other news outlets that Biden will nominate Neera Tanden to lead the OMB. The position requires Senate confirmation and it looks like there will be a battle over this nomination. Senator John Cornyn’s spokesman posted a tweet in response to Tanden – she “stands zero chance of being confirmed.” Tanden has been in charge of the Center for American Progress, a liberal think tank, since 2010. Twenty-nine years ago, Joe Biden chaired the Senate Judiciary Committee and presided over the "high tech lynching" of Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas. Since then, Brett Kavanaugh has been subjected to similar treatment by the Democratic members of the same committee. Alito, Gorsuch and Barrett were also unfairly abused, if not quite so brutally.
Clarence Thomas didn't just take the abuse. He fought back, telling Biden to his face, "...I think that this today is a travesty. I think that it is disgusting.
