The New York Times tried to hurry the vote-counting process along and declare Joe Biden the winner on Thursday’s front page in a story by White House reporters Peter Baker and Maggie Haberman, “Win or Lose, Trump’s Clout Will Not Fade.” The lead: “If President Trump loses his bid for re-election, as looked increasingly likely on Wednesday, it would be the first defeat of an incumbent president in 28 years. But one thing seemed certain: Win or lose, he will not go quietly away.”
Annie Karni teamed with Haberman on Trump’s reaction to Fox News perhaps prematurely calling Arizona for Biden: “Vision of Victory Started to Slip When Fox

In a press conference on Thursday, President Trump covered a vast range of topics dealing with the 2020 election, including the “great achievement” in the House of Representatives were Republican women won the day in large numbers. Of course, those victories had been largely ignored but Trump’s mention of them forced CBS Evening News to finally acknowledge those victories. But instead of just reporting on who those women were, anchor Norah O’Donnell wanted to fact-check the President.

Four years ago, liberal heads exploded when Donald Trump was elected president. At colleges across America, students needed counseling and teddy bears to cope with their grief. Trump’s inauguration sparked protests, some of them violent.
If the election of a nasty, dishonest conservative outsider by slim margins in key states caused grief and rage in 2016, why shouldn’t the election of a nasty, dishonest liberal establishment hack by slim margins in key states , and in a race fraught with the possibility of fraud, cause rage among those who voted for President Trump this year?

When he’s not being a troll on Twitter, Vox’s Matt Yglesias occasionally writes something sensible. Today he published a piece pointing out that election results show Democrats have a problem with minority voters, particularly with Hispanic voters. While Cuba-specific issues are tactically central to electoral battles in Florida, the fact is that even before all the results are in, it’s clear Biden’s weakness with Latino voters was broader than that. In South Florida, Biden lost ground with a diverse Hispanic population that includes many families from Puerto Rico, Venezuela, or Colombia, as well as Cuba broadly.

If President Trump loses the election, he will also have to say goodbye to a Twitter privilege that lets world leaders keep up tweets with certain offensive or misleading content, according to a report.
Trump, as president, has benefited from the Twitter policy that flags content that violates the platform’s rules — but does not outright force their deletion, as is the case with ordinary users, Bloomberg reported.
But if Biden wins the election, come January, Trump will fall into the former world leader category, losing the special treatment, the report said.
Since election night, eight of Trump’s tweets have been flagged by the social media giant.

A leaked caucus call between congressional Democrats on Thursday has revealed growing tension between the more progressive wing of the party and moderate lawmakers. Nevada Democrats have been accused of preventing Republican observers from watching signature checks on massive numbers of mail-in ballots, and Nevada GOP officials are going to federal court for a restraining order to try to temporarily stop the count of alleged illegal votes in Clark County. On the evening of Thursday November 5th, an entire 48 hours after polls closed in some states, we still do not know whether Republican incumbent Donald Trump or his Democratic challenger Joe Biden have emerged victorious. Multiple states are still in the process of counting ballots, and potential or real challenges from the Trump campaign mean that an official result seems unlikely in the immediate future. Here is an overview of when we can expect results from each of the states, which have either yet to declare a winner, or will possibly experience a recount or challenge of some sort.

Remember “faithless electors” — those almost mythical rogues who Hillary Clinton fans once desperately hoped could save them from a victorious Donald Trump four years ago? Well, there is still such a thing as faithless electors, they are still an incredible longshot, and Trump fans too can now place the very slimmest of hopes in them.So what are faithless electors again? As a refresher, when we fill in those ballot ovals to select a president, we are actually selecting a slate of “electors,” human beings who are bound to vote for a particular party’s candidate when they meet next month in their respective state capitals.

America’s election reflects perfectly her psychological state. Divided and frustrated, citizens are realigning not along race or gender lines, but along philosophical ones. What does it mean to be an American? Who gets to define it? On one side: citizens of a Republic — Republicans. On the other side, the Oligarchy and the mob — Democrats. The two sides are fighting for control of America.
Americans used to agree on certain things. They believed in God. They believed that America was a force for good in the world. They believed in the individual. They believed in protecting the innocent.

This morning at my site I had a post explaining the misery, at least from my perspective, of watching the American political system devolve into failure this week:
My mood isn’t the result of despondency that the election is lost. I don’t think it’s lost. At least, I’m not sure it’s lost.
What I’ve recognized, what that late night on Tuesday taught me, is that the election is just a symptom of something a whole lot worse.
At the end of the day, it’s this: the game will continue until the Left says it’s over.

The long-awaited 2020 presidential election went into overtime with no called winner. If one is declared he will have less than an overwhelming mandate. In most elections, the majority of votes are cast "down the ticket" - meaning, a voter supports both party's presidential nominee and state Congressional candidates. As I write this, election of our president remains undecided, but the decision is creeping closer by the hour. And it’s not a pretty sight. The reaction among us patriotic, conservative, God-fearing Trump supporters is pretty much a mirror reflection of what we mocked four years ago. Remember when the left was reduced to screaming and crying because such a person could defeat their precious Hillary? “Snowflakes,” we called them.Well, it seems snowflakes are falling on our side of the mirror today. People say they are angry and surprised at the brazen cheating by the left.

Elections officials in Michigan and Wisconsin refused to explain Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s sudden and dramatic vote tally increase that occurred in both states Wednesday morning.Michigan and Wisconsin state officials warned against misinformation being shared online, but wouldn’t comment on specific vote tranches that appeared to show former Vice President Joe Biden suddenly receiving more votes than President Donald Trump. The two battleground states remained tightly contested as of Wednesday afternoon, according to The New York Times.(Video) Voter tallies from both states spiked at around 6 a.m. in favor of Biden, according to graphs of live tallies posted by FiveThirtyEight.

It’s the Thursday after the 2020 election and we continue to wait for election results from states with Democrat strongholds. Does that sound fishy to you? It should. Remember: this crowd executed a coup against a sitting president and spied on him, his campaign, his family and associates. (Snip). Do you think the institutional state wouldn’t be willing to cheat to win this election?
We are told there was record high turnout and that Biden got more votes than Obama in 2008! That sounds absurd. Wisconsin, we learned had a ridiculous 90 percent voter turn out. Geographic bundles of ballots were processed with 100% Biden votes. (Snip)

Like we’ve said for a while, the fix is in. We turn out attention to Wisconsin which is reporting 90% voter turnout. Considering dead people are still on the voter rolls and likely 20% or more of the residents simply didn’t vote, we can officially call an unambiguous Pinocchio on this one. According to the Milwaukee City Wire: Seven City of Milwaukee voting wards reported more 2020 U.S. Presidential election votes than they had registered voters, according to an analysis of results and Secretary of State files. Five of them are in the city’s eleventh aldermanic ward, on the city’s far Southwest Side. Correction:

U.S. Rep. Jeff Van Drew, who switched parties and pledged “undying support” to President Trump, was a prime target for local Democrats in South Jersey, who even found themselves a Kennedy to run as their candidate. But the storied Kennedy political dynasty, which had taken root in Brigantine after former U.S. Rep. Patrick Kennedy married a school teacher from Absecon, appears to have run into a thicket of Atlantic City politics on the way to exacting revenge on Van Drew. Tuesday night, it was Van Drew who was claimed to be victorious, and Wednesday, he was still maintaining vote lead

Nate Silver, the founder and editor-in-chief of the data journalism site FiveThirtyEight, has said that the Associated Press and Fox News should retract their call of Arizona for Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.
"I don't know, I guess I'd say that Biden will win Arizona if you forced me to pick, but I sure as heck don't think the state should have been called by anyone, and I think the calls that were previously made should be retracted now," Silver wrote in his website's blog.
His reasoning involves the existence of an estimated 450,000 mail-in ballots that, according to party registration, are 23 percent

Fox News’ “decision desk” team, which makes the network’s election night calls, was the first to call Arizona for Joe Biden Tuesday night.
Fox’s call came so early, in fact, that the network’s anchors seemed surprised. President Trump was reportedly furious with his favorite network, and he criticized the decision in an early morning White House appearance, specifically dismissing “the gentleman who called it.”
That gentleman was Arnon Mishkin — a Jewish registered Democrat from New York who is the leader and face of the Fox numbers team .Mishkin called that Arizona would go blue at around 11:30 p.m. Eastern time. At around 12:30 a.m., he appeared on air, and Fox host

With a governor like corrupt Democrat Gretchen Whitmer it comes as no surprise that Democrats would turn in ballots with no names on them. No matter how the election ultimately shakes out, Democrats have reason to be worried about the dramatic erosion of support among minority voters. Defying most expectations, early data shows that President Trump not only suffered no great backlash from non-whites, but actually earned more of their votes this time around. Indeed, it seems he won more minority votes than any Republican in 60 years.According to exit polls, while Trump’s white male support dipped by five percent, it rose among women and minorities of both sexes. 17% of black men broke for Trump, as opposed to 13% in 2016.

Vote counting continues in four critical states as of early Thursday morning — Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arizona, and Nevada. Pennsylvania and Georgia are stories unto themselves. There are reports that both have evaded any efforts at transparency in what they are doing behind closed doors, and little or no reporting about why it is they have not been able to accomplish completing their vote counting nearly in one or two urban cities when the vote-counting in nearly the entirety of the remainder of the stated has been finished for some time. Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and her invigorated caucus charged into Tuesday with an energized base, a sharp fundraising advantage and hopes to flip anywhere from five to 15 Republican seats on election night. Instead, it was the Republicans who scored big — at least in the early counting — knocking out at least a half dozen vulnerable Democrats with several more clinging to the ropes.
It was a reversal of fortunes for the Democrats, who had led big in the polls and the money race and were betting that President Trump at the top of the ticket would be a drag on GOP lawmakers all the way down the ballot.

It is a very fair question: What kind of sore-losing idiot would suspect the Democrats of voter fraud? Republican John James' Michigan Senate campaign on Wednesday accused local officials of impropriety, voter suppression, and election interference, as the state continues its counting process to determine which candidate won.
The allegations came as chaos unfolded outside a vote tally room at the TCF Center in downtown Detroit where all mail-in absentee ballots are collected. By Wednesday, officials barred people from coming into the room and had placed cardboard over the windows to obstruct the public's view.

Heading into Election Day, Democrats had hoped to pick up a half-dozen or more state legislative chambers to get a foot in the door when many state politicians get to redraw congressional maps next year, lines that will last for the next decade and help determine which party controls Congress. Instead, it’s possible Democrats end up with no new chambers, and it will be Republicans who leave 2020 with wins. Republicans picked up the New Hampshire House and Senate, giving them total control over governing in that state because they also kept the governor’s mansion. Republicans won another trifecta, as

A longtime pollster is arguing that Joe Biden's potential victory in the 2020 election could be significantly hampered by the "horrible position" in which the Democratic politician will find himself come Inauguration Day in January.
Scott Rasmussen made the prediction on Wednesday while talking to Just the News Editor-in-Chief John Solomon on the podcast John Solomon Reports.
"If Joe Biden hangs on and wins a narrow Electoral College victory, he's going to go into the White House with half the country thinking that he doesn't belong there legitimately," Rasmussen said.

Thanks for staying with us as we live-blogged tonight. We’ll post full thoughts on our website in the days ahead, but for now we’re going to pack it in. Here’s where things stand: as of 2:09 a.m. it’s safe to add 2020 to the growing list of years when the question “Is Texas going to turn blue?” was answered with a resounding “no.”
Donald Trump has won Texas. There are still votes to be counted in blue counties, but the president’s six-point lead is safe. That’s not as good as his nine-point lead in 2016, but he significantly outperformed the polls and most expectations.

House Democrats went into Election Day supremely confident that they were going to put another nail in the Republicans’ coffin. They had outraised and outspent Republican candidates across the board. They felt the issues of the pandemic response and Obamacare favored them.
Democrats spoke confidently of picking up 10 to 15 seats — perhaps more. Of course, this would be after Joe Biden cruised to an easy victory over Donald Trump, with Democratic majorities in the House and Senate riding on his coattails.
But the polls were wrong. They were very wrong. So when reality hit Nancy Pelosi and her caucus this morning, they realized they hadn’t gained a single seat

As many feared, the election has ended, but it isn’t over. Ballots are still being tallied, and races in Nevada and Pennsylvania remain up in the air. Even when finished, there will be angry disputes. The counts will go on, but even when done they’ll be litigated for months. Blame the Democrats’ vote-by-mail scheme for the election chaos.
Fed up with riots, demonstrations, nonstop name-calling and demonization of political opponents, Americans speak longingly of a clear result to our elections that would let us all get on with our lives.

The American left never for one moment accepted their loss in 2016. (snip) So, when on Tuesday night it was clear that all the battleground states were going Trump’s way, they acted. The network shut down the state victory calls for Trump the moment all the betting odds were favoring a Trump win.

A poll watcher filmed highly suspicious activity at a vote-counting center in Detroit at 4 a.m., the morning after election day.In the footage, taken by Kellye SoRelle, a Texas lawyer and member of Lawyers for Trump, a person in a white van was filmed loading up a red wagon outside the ballot counting location and bringing it instead. News outlets tell us that President Trump underperformed in key midwestern states, compared with 2016. But that isn’t exactly true. Take Wisconsin: four years ago, Trump carried the state with 1,405,284 votes. This year, with 99% of the vote tabulated, Trump had 1,610,007 votes, more than 200,000 more votes than he received four years ago. Yet, we are told, he lost the state to the inept Joe Biden.
That seems unlikely. There were 3,684,726 registered voters in Wisconsin going into Election day. The total votes recorded in Wisconsin were 3,240,549.

In a lot of ways, what happened Tuesday night could not have been worse for this country or its future. The outcome of our presidential election was seized from the hands of voters, where it rightly belongs, and now resides in the control of lawyers and courts -- and highly partisan, clearly corrupt big city bureaucrats.
No matter what happens next, that is a tragedy. Many Americans will never again accept the results of a presidential election. That story is still unfolding and we will follow it as honestly as we can wherever it leads.
But believe it or not, there is some good news

The tight race was called by the network hours after former Vice President Joe Biden was announced as the winner of the so-called “blue wall” state in the presidential contest. Absentee ballot counting in Detroit descended into chaos on Wednesday when hundreds of unofficial Republican observers concerned about fraud converged on the counting location.
The city of Detroit is using the TCF Center — formerly Cobo Hall — to count all of the absentee ballots in the city.
Republicans and Trump supporters grew alarmed as Trump was holding a strong lead in the state during early counting Tuesday evening, only for it to evaporate as mailed-in ballots were counted in historically Democrat areas.
Several videos posted on social media show workers attempting to restrict transparency and not allow people outside to observe what was going on inside the counting area:

The thing America needs to take away from the 2020 election, once and for all, is that a new system of counting votes is absolutely necessary. Anybody have any ideas? As far as North Carolina goes, a state expected to go for President Trump, we won’t know the results for some time. Here’s the scoop, via NBC News: The final count is delayed because the vast majority of county boards of elections won’t start counting the absentee and provisional ballots until Nov. 12 — so totals won’t be updated for more than one week.

As the Trump campaign expands its lawsuits--including new filings Wednesday in Georgia and Pennsylvania--legal scholars say they are likely rooted in the Constitution's voting law authority, which limits the power of non-legislative actors trying to assert their power over balloting.(Snip)The Elections Clause of the Constitution (Article I, Section 4) gives state legislatures the authority to set the time, place and manner of federal elections, i.e., the rules governing the election process, including absentee ballots.
