MINNEAPOLIS — The Minneapolis mayor imposed a curfew Wednesday night and requested National Guard help after unrest that included violence and store looting broke out downtown following what authorities said was misinformation about the suicide death of a Black homicide suspect. Mayor Jacob Frey said details of the curfew which went into effect immediately were still being worked out. Frey said during a news conference Wednesday night that he and Gov. "What we're calling for NOW, is peace". Only just NOW, huh? Wonder why NOW is desirable, and not a few weeks, or days ago? But, will people vote for real change by electing Republicans instead of the same, tired, old Democrats? Maybe the same empty rhetoric from those democrats has not offered any hope for change after saying essentially the same thing for the last 50+ years.

Certainly took them long enough to do it.....but I suppose it's due to the falling numbers that their candidate Biden has and that the dems are getting blamed for all this rioting. Mike Wallace the liar claimed on TV that they, Frey and Walz had called the National Guards right away..... DUH??? BTW, Walz, does that mean your daughter has to stop rioting with the looters???

time to get serious. Police are not trained for warfare. Soldiers are. Treat rioters like enemy combatants Warn them they will be shot if found in perimeter after curfew. Spray them with ink? so they can be picked up later. Make it a federal offense so the DA can’t keep them out of jail. Publish names of people who are posting their bail. Offer a reward. Bring in the tanks and snipers. Let it be known they are in the cross hairs. Bring charges against Governors who do not protect safety of their citizens

Then he is a fool. These people do not want peace, their whole reason for being is anarchy, destruction and chaos with the ultimate goal of the overthrow of our government. The only remedy for these bullies is to have someone stand up to them. Get in their faces and show some strength. All they have is profanity laced rhetoric, rage, and intimidation of someone weaker. They would run in the face of real opposition and that is exactly what needs to be unleashed on them. Pick a city, and make an example that the rest of them will never forget. Put the fear of God unto them and never ever offer any leniency. When you work to overthrow the government of the United States, there is a high price to pay. The worst thing we can do, is offer them any kind of leniency. They must be held accountable for their crimes.

MINNEAPOLIS - In the height of all the looting in downtown Minneapolis Wednesday night, one restaurant owner had an enormous decision to make. Watching his business being destroyed, he pulled out his gun during an intense confrontation, before ultimately deciding not to pull the trigger. The Nguyen family started the Lotus Restaurant in 1984. It’s the American dream, which was almost shattered in one night by a few people looking to destroy their hard work. (Snip) They didn’t listen - first throwing a rock, then a fire extinguisher. Five of them jumped inside. Then one guy zeroed in on Nguyen’s

Lord & Taylor, one of the country's oldest department store chains, is going out of business after filing for bankruptcy earlier this month. The retailer was sold just a year ago for $100 million to Le Tote, a San Francisco online clothing rental company, by Canadian parent Hudson's Bay Co. Lord & Taylor will permanently close its remaining 38 stores and shut down its website, the company said Thursday. It is currently holding going-out-of-business sales in stores and online. Founded as a dry goods store in 1826, Lord & Taylor has struggled for years. But the pandemic has changed the

Democratic strategists are worried scenes of violence in Kenosha, Wis., and the “defund the police” debate could give Republicans and President Trump a boost with suburban voters. The issue has come back to the forefront amid new incidents of violence, property destruction and protests this week after another unarmed Black man, Jacob Blake, was shot in the back by a police officer. Some Democrats worry the continuing unrest could give Trump an opening with swing voters in Wisconsin and other key states that voted for Trump in 2016. “Republicans are very wisely pouncing on this moment and using that language

A million fans will vow today that they’ll never watch the NBA again and most will be back next week, or at least for the Finals. And everyone who isn’t will be back next season. The Milwaukee Bucks violated the collective bargaining agreement with the league when they decided to protest by not playing today’s game against the Orlando Magic.
