Minneapolis City Council members are expected to hold an emergency meeting Friday to vote on some of the first changes to the city’s police department following the death of George Floyd, with some of the council’s members vowing to “dismantle” the police department, according to the Star Tribune. The council is working with the state’s Department of Human Rights on a stipulated restraining order that would require some immediate changes to the police department. The order would also set up a timeline for an investigation into whether the police department participated in racial discrimination over the last 10 years.

Wonder what the Minneapolis Convention and visitors bureau thinks of this. Maybe they could set up one of those drive thru safari things where people can be driven through in armored vehicles with large bullet resistance glass so they can oooh and ahhh and take videos. They can watch civilization devolve into the survival of the fittest like the nature specials where you see the gazelles by the water hole until the hyenas and lions show up.

We have 50 states and over 3,000 cities as laboratories of governance. Let the dummies experiment with no cops. These are the same people who govern their cities and states and have total control over policing and other policies. And they blame it on who? Why haven't they changed it? Why didn't Obama do it in his 8 years? This is only a media and election ploy. You gotta be totally nuts to vote Democrat.

Good luck insuring your home, car or business if you're foolish enough to stay in a city that replaces the police with social workers.

Correct me if I am wrong, but in the George Zimmerman/Travon Martin case; I think that Zimmerman was part of a "neighborhood watch group?? It is stunning to me to see that left leaders thing that private watchdog security groups would be a good idea.

Neighborhood watch groups would consist of members of the rioting class. It's THEIR type of enforcement that would prevail. No one who professes law and order policy could make it..

why not the last HUNDRED YEARS?
someone on the city council is shortsighted...

There would seem to be a wonderful business opportunity to form a large private security company and offer your services to the community for a monthly fee. Lock up the rights to the phone number "(22"
"922, what's your emergency? What is your membership number?
Not a part of "the service"? I am sorry ma'am, but I can transfer you to our expedited membership system....."

Now I won't need to travel to Africa to see what Mogadishu, Somalia is like. Will there be warlords with their gangs patrolling the streets to keep "law and order" and keep the people in line? Let them create their liberal, lawless paradise. Just build a big fence around it to keep the thugs and people who created their lawless city inside it.

Quick, someone publish the names, addresses and phone numbers of the mayor and city counsel so Minneapolis residents know where to go to protest this possible action.

If you do that, you invite vigilantes to provide security for the people. It is a license to take the law into your own hands as you have no one else. Be careful what you wish for.

Remember Minnesota is a liberal Democrat run State. Within Minnesota, the City of Minneapolis is a liberal Democrat run city, and has been so for decades. Within Minneapolis the police department is run by the liberal Democrat City politicians, including a Mayor, and has a Black Police Chief. Those politicians and the Police Chief are responsible for the management, supervision, along with the operation and training of the Police Department and it’s officers, to ensure that the Police Department and all police personnel are operating within the law and established policies. If the above information is correct how could there be such institutional racism within the Minneapolis Police Department with all those leftist and liberal Democrat city politicians and their picked police chief managing and supervising that department?

As a number of posters have said, historically, where the law was not found or was not working, Commitees of Vigilance were formed. Some were pretty reasonable. Some were just lynch mobs with a fancy name.
People will not go without any kind of law enforcement for very long before they start to "make it up as we go along". Be far away.
