Relocating China-Centric Supply Chains
to USA Could Cure Virus Woes

Original Article

As the United States suffers an increasing number of infections and fatalities from the CCP virus, a number of industries critical to the U.S. economy—including the powerhouse automotive and aerospace industries—have been forced to shut up shop. The double-whammy of supply-chain disruptions due to reduced Chinese and domestic industrial activity coupled with U.S. firms asking employees to stay at home to avoid spreading the coronavirus has ground American manufacturing to a standstill.

Comments:

This may be the only solution to recover from the man made depression that is sure to come if we continue on this dangerous path.

It's not just pharmaceuticals. The U.S. should bring back ALL strategic manufacturing and become the TRUSTED (not cheapest) supplier to the world. Watch business and jobs boom as this starts to happen.

Back in the '80's and '90's I can recall that many pharmaceuticals were manufactured in Puerto Rico because there was some type of tax incentive. I believe that ended under Ted Kennedy, effectively ending the Puerto Rico pharmaceutical and drug manufacturing business, and effectively giving the market to China. I believe it is time to resurrect the Puerto Rican pharmaceutical industry. Puerto Rico has been whining and crying for federal handouts to recover from the hurricane 2 years ago and from the corruption and graft that has been "disappearing" all the federal aid. Restore those tax breaks for Puerto Rican pharmaceuticals. Its a win-Win, and won't get thieved.

This pandemic is damaging our economy as well as the health system. This will impact the country for probably years as we work to recover when the crisis passes (hopefully soon). One important action needed immediately is to begin bringing manufacturing of goods (especially pharmaceuticals and medical supplies) back to the US. We will need the jobs to employ Americans who have and will lose their jobs soon. Cheap labor that drove jobs from the US doesn't seem so cheap now with over a $trillion being prepared to rescue the country's small business and workers, and probably another $ trillion before we are done. To me, the over riding benefits to providing goods and services made by Americans for Americans far exceeds the "savings" of using cheap foreign labor. Change some of the stifling rules and regulations for businesses and allow competition to encourage quality and reasonable cost of products and services provided for and within own own country. Bring back "Made in USA"!

During the heady Bubba-and-Bushes era of ascendant globalism we went crazy offshoring everything that wasn't nailed down. Even weapons systems and spare parts for our fighter jets started being manufactured in France, among other things. All in the name of saving a buck and ingratiating ourselves to countries that continue to despise us. It's time that we restored a big chunk of our manufacturing industry.. Actually, it's long PAST the time for that.

And open up the Moly Corp rare earth minerals mine in California, too. Cali enviro costs and rules, plus China intentionally driving the market prices down has forced them to mothball the mine, last that I looked. LOTS of things like this. Perhaps we should think about something like......Make America Great Again. I wonder why nobody thought of this before? /s off Go Trump! On the RIGHT side of history, by a mile.

Coronavirus: Why Two Weeks Matters 14 replies

For the umpteenth time, stay home for two weeks. Sure, buy your take out. Mask and glove up to get your groceries. Take a walk in the fresh air and avoid people. Just stay home otherwise. Otherwise, plan for this.   Why? At a simple level, this reduces the variables. The fewer people that one contacts, the fewer possible vectors of infection, the easier it is to trace contacts, the easier it is to halt the spread of infection.   Here is a good explainer about how “flattening the curve” looks. As time is passing, and because of isolation, the numbers are looking better than the ones the doctor in this video are using.

It was really bad and it explains why they’re afraid to have him deliver an address to Congress or do any kind of a real solo press conference, because at this point they have to be afraid this is all going to fall apart if he does anything live and this all becomes too obvious to the American people. But there’s only so long that they can hold this off. And it’s getting worse, as video today revealed. Biden was holding an event to announce the nomination

I’m probably second to none in my dislike for Meghan Markle. There’s something unattractive about a mature woman marrying into the British Royal family with one of the world’s most expensive weddings, hanging out with the Queen, living in insane luxury…and then whining non-stop about the horror of her life. There’s something even less appealing when that woman accuses the Royal family of race hatred. And the problem is that, when it comes to that left-wing diva, Meghan Markle, it’s hard to believe most of what she says. After weeks of hype, CBS finally televised Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah.
