For the umpteenth time, stay home for two weeks. Sure, buy your take out. Mask and glove up to get your groceries. Take a walk in the fresh air and avoid people. Just stay home otherwise. Otherwise, plan for this. Why? At a simple level, this reduces the variables. The fewer people that one contacts, the fewer possible vectors of infection, the easier it is to trace contacts, the easier it is to halt the spread of infection. Here is a good explainer about how “flattening the curve” looks. As time is passing, and because of isolation, the numbers are looking better than the ones the doctor in this video are using.

One thing that would really help getting back to normal is if the FDA can confirm that the hydroxchlorquine and azithromycin combination is safe and effective at treating the virus. The Gautret clinical trial saw the virus shedding reduced to 0 within six days. Having people at home for six days and not having people in hospital on ventilators will do a lot to give us confidence that we can go out normally and not rely just on social separation.

It's times like these that the Feds need to do more than just fast-track a solution, but to make it clear to the ambulance chasers that frivolous lawsuits regarding ANYTHING related to China Flu will be immediately rejected by the courts, and the plaintiffs and their lawyers will themselves be prosecuted.

mask and glove to get groceries. what a crock. Have you noticed that the pharmacist and his employees are not using gloves and masks?

No one is recommending masks for the uninfected. Just those who have tested positive. As for gloves, many of our Asian neighbors have worn gloves to the markets for a long time… It’s a cultural thing.

FTA: "after 2 weeks, people will decide death is preferable to staring at their spouse's face for another day.". Ha ha.
On a more serious note, there will be rioting if they keep trying to stifle the country. Simply can't do this indefinitely, despite what RAT state governments keep saying.

I'll be the conspiracy nut. This is all being done to get President Trump out of office. If American democrats can't do it, communist Chinese will step up to the plate.

The Sec of the Treasury is saying 10-12 weeks. Gov Cuomo says it could go on 9 months. I wonder if it will be over in 2 weeks?

News of the virus is almost like hearing of news from the front in “Oceania”.

Well, the two weeks are up next weekend, and people will be expecting things to return to something approaching normal. If we're still expected to be hermits inside of our homes for another few weeks and not work, shop, eat out etc., expect people to start ignoring all the hoopla about the virus and start demanding change.

If we couldn't stop the spread of the disease when there were a handful of cases, what makes anyone believe we can stop the spread after two weeks and there are thousands of cases?

I'm willing to stay home for two weeks (not that I have a choice), but not longer than that. After two weeks, healthy people should be allowed to get on with their lives. Sick people can stay home. This is going to destroy our economy if it goes on much longer. I actually think that is what the Democrats want.

Problem is that it seems no one on the task force seems to give any regard to the economic consequences of a long term shutdown.
