The Dixie Chicks are back with their first album in 14 years — Gaslighter — and they discuss how the country music industry “turned” on them for Natalie Maines’s 2003 anti-George W. Bush comments, leading to their long album hiatus. In the new Allure cover story, they recall Maines uttering those controversial comments — "Just so you know, we're on the good side with y'all. We do not want this war, this violence. And we're ashamed the president of the United States is from Texas” — at a small music venue in London in March 2003, just prior to the

Dixie as in the area of the US below the Mason-Dixon line where slavery was allowed? Maybe, they need to change their name as well.

Every time a Christian speaks their beliefs in a hostile crowd, there is a price to be paid.
The same applies to speaking liberal philosophy in a conservative crowd.
The chicks felt strongly, they went forward with it, and they paid a price.

Racist greedy swine flu incubators. I’m not sure how the transgendered and transgendered-need-to-be and transgendered-wanna-bes, especially those seeking a cis female full ride scholarship, feel about the patriarchal hierarchy feel to the words “chicks.”
They are everything bad they complain about and they also complain about the good too.
Since nobody’s good enough for them, they’re right where they want to be.

Those asses are trying to mount a comeback? Arrogant entertainers who try to hijack Country Music to be the mouthpiece of Progressive Politics, and then act like the industry abandoned them when it failed to fall into line and follow... With apologies to John Cleese, I fart in their general direction.

The Prodigal Son got a second chance, but that is because he had a repentant heart. These gals do not. They chose to be smart mouthed on foreign soil about the president at that time, and these little snowflakes need to understand that words can have consequences. Some of them life long as well. Grow up Chickies and admit your foolish behavior and seriously apologize to the nation.

No, you turned on your customers, Dixie Chicks. Now you don't have any customers. The experience hasn't made you any smarter either, as you blame the industry, instead of yourselves, for your calamities.

This leftist notion that they have every right to say what they want and nobody has the equal right to respond is so childish and infantile on the Left's part. Free Speech is a TWO way street, and not only do we have right of response which the Left hates, but the Left refuse to grasp that part of being an adult is standing by your actions and your words. Attacking one's country like they did on foreign soil is not something you can put back in the tube like toothpaste.

Act like a leftist puke in that business and you will discover that a lot of those country music folks are actually patriots, and aren't going to be your friends any more. And it's not like you were the most talented things to come down the pike. Mediocre talents can get along fine if they are also nice folks. Superstars can survive being obnoxious jerks. But mediocre talents who are obnoxious jerks....bad combo.
Life is all about choices. You pukes made a BAD choice. YOUR fault, not anyone else's.

Modern leftist cluelessness is mind boggling. They really think because they spoke their minds, "genuinely", that they should be respected and appreciated even though it spits in the face of their fan base.
Ladies, people liked you because you resonated with their lives and beliefs and put it into music. Then you come out and say, " You know those beliefs we were talking about? Never mind.". Your fans, who invested their emotions in you, felt betrayed and dumped you like a cheating spouse. You ought to be familiar with the concept.

I have no idea what she is talking about. Pop-Country music died a few years ago. They should be totally at home in what's left of pop country music.
Oh, country music is still alive in small honkytonks and dance halls. But the garbage they play on "country music stations" these days is far more like Tupac and Eminem than George Strait and Hank Williams.

Back in the day, they were young and sort of cute, and did catchy little pop country songs.
Now they are much older, and look like middle-aged cougars with too much makeup on hanging out in the bar hoping to get a one night stand with a young guy who has had too much to drink.
Oh wait, that is just the two sisters. Natalie looks like a cougar in a lesbian bar looking for the same from some young girl.
However, one look at them, and the odds are that they will all strike out and go home alone. I just can't imagine most guys (or lesbians) could ever get that drunk!!!
