New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D-N.Y.) is scheduled to meet with President Donald Trump today to discuss the Trump Administration’s ban on enrollment in “Trusted Traveler Programs” for New York state residents, as Fox News reports. As reported last week, the Department of Homeland Security initiated the ban after New York’s passage of its “sanctuary state” law protecting illegal aliens from federal immigration authorities. The move, announced by Acting DHS Secretary Chad Wolf, was meant to reduce the risk of illegal aliens possibly enrolling in the program due to their protected status in New York state.
