Deval Patrick drops out of
Democratic presidential race

Original Article

Posted By: Ida Lou Pino, 2/13/2020 9:25:00 AM

Deval Patrick ended his long-shot Democratic presidential campaign after failing to gain traction during his last-minute bid in a crowded field of candidates. “The vote in New Hampshire last night was not enough for us to create the practical wind at the campaign’s back to go on to the next round of voting. So I have decided to suspend the campaign, effective immediately,” Patrick said in a statement Wednesday. Patrick, who was the first black governor of Massachusetts, holding office from 2007 to 2015, announced his candidacy in November

Comments:

Another devilishly clever move by a master politician. Deval is lulling the opposition into ignoring him - - but then - - KAPOW! - - he jumps back in and coasts to the presidency.

Well Deval (aka DeVille) Patrick failed to gain any 'traction,' even in neighboring New Hampshire. I think it's a case of the more we know about him, the less we're likely to vote for him.

Coupe DeVille, who styled himself as an Obama "Mini Me" was hoping for backing from the Obama Machine. It never materialized. I guess Obama has someone else in mind besides Deval and Biden. I'm guessing Bloomberg, after all, that's where the money is.

Ah, Coupe Deval. His campaign theme song was Curtis Mayfield's 'Diamond in the Back'. You know, late model 2 door Coupe DeVille, super plush vinyl top with custom diamond-shaped rear window. Think Superfly from the early 70's. Diamond in the back, sunroof top, diggin' the scene with a gangsta lean... Gangsta whitewalls, TV antennas in the back... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVANQheoRUw Go ahead and listen. Got that nice easy beat for strollin' down the line dance on Soul Train. And, yea, I've got this song in my playlist.

FBI Director Christopher Wray said Wednesday that the FBI agents involved in the surveillance of Carter Page who are still at the bureau have been referred to the FBI’s Office of Professional Responsibility for possible disciplinary action. During a House Judiciary Committee hearing, Wray noted that most of the FBI officials who oversaw Crossfire Hurricane, which involved surveillance of Page, have left the bureau and are no longer subject to disciplinary review. He said the FBI personnel who worked on that probe and who still have jobs at the FBI are mostly line-level agents.

As the U.S. presidential race began roaring to life in 2016, authorities in the former Soviet republic of Latvia flagged a series of “ suspicious” financial transactions to Hunter Biden and other colleagues at a Ukrainian natural gas company and sought Kiev’s help investigating, according to documents and interviews. The Feb. 18, 2016 alert to Ukraine came from the Latvian prosecutorial agency responsible for investigating money laundering, and it specifically questioned whether Vice President Joe Biden’s younger son and three other officials at Burisma Holdings were the potential beneficiaries of suspect funds.

Republicans have had trouble mounting an effective defense on President Trump’s Ukraine call, because they haven’t put down their stakes on the most defensible ground. Complaints about House Democrats’ less-than-transparent impeachment process, though justified, were clearly perishable once Democrats adopted more regular proceedings. The contention that Trump’s phone call to the Ukrainian president was “perfect” was never going to withstand scrutiny. The line that there was “no quid pro quo” has become steadily less plausible

President Trump should want a rapid impeachment process. The Ukraine story hasn’t been good for him, and there is only one way out — to get impeached, and the sooner, the better. The president obviously hates the idea of being impeached. He thinks it’s unfair and is raging against the process with every political and legal argument his team can muster

The "Great Revolt," as Salena Zito explains it, describes a political realignment aimed at revitalizing broken communities. Yet according to a groundbreaking new film, the true answer to urban decay, broken families, and ballooning debt from dependence on social programs isn't more government but a return to the traditional sources of meaning: faith, family, work, and community. Filmmaker Christopher Rufo traveled to three crumbling American cities — Youngstown, Ohio; Memphis, Tenn.; and Stockton, Calif. —

There was once a time, not that long ago, when the mainstream left was highly critical of the CIA, and scrutiny of dubious claims by U.S. intelligence was a common occurrence. Of course all of that changed when those same intelligence agencies were weaponized to target a political enemy that was also the enemy of the left, namely Donald Trump.
